I am asking because I have posted on this forum about what I assume is ED issues with my boyfriend. He was taking Ketocozonole(sp) for his hair loss.

Use it twice a week it will clean out all the **** from your scalp and provide a healthy environment for hair loss. Minoxidil is **** because it can irritate your scalp(especially at 5%) and even caus other problems. If you suffer future hairloss I would reccommend proscar( it is propecia but get a pill cutter and cut pills into 4) you have to take it every day but it works for almost everyone to prevent hairloss and maybe grow back more. It has worked for me.
Propose that your partner try Avodart. I think it really helps with prostate enlargement. That is what the television commercials say anyhow.
Unfortunately it also can cause a large reduction in semen production.
AND women wanting to become pregnant should NEVER touch the pill as it can cause birth defects if they are exposed at all to it.

I am alarmed NO ONE is too concerned (I saw 2 urologists) and no one can dfiagnose this..I take PROSCAR for benign hypertropic prostate-that has nothing really to d owith hleping the loss of feeling..just lets me urinate..when I CAN sense it..HELP ???? I have NOT been put on any new medications recently but LIVALO I hardly think that causes a numb bladder or reduced sensation. here is NO Burning or pain on urination .
You're right, finasteride is a dangerous drug and many men don't respond well to it. In my case, I guess I was lucky. I've been taking Proscar everyday for over 14 years and I can't complain much. The drug was effective and side effects were minimal: some loss of libido, watery semen.
I'm not an expert but I suggest you stop taking finasteride at once and go see a doctor. I'm sure these side effects are reversible.
2 weeks after I started taking synthroid I found a bald spot. Over a year later after countless painful needles in my head you can see my scalp all over the top of my head. I too have anxiety when I have to wash my hair, it comes out in clumps like hair extensions. It is all over my house! My thyroid got regulated & the hair loss has still got worse.I was taking 137mcg. 6 weeks ago I just stopped taking it because the hair loss was so bad.
Most times the hair loss from alopecia can be fixed with the hair folicles being stimulated by cortisone cream for a few weeks.
As much as I hate cortisone cream, I used it years ago after a haematoma (blow to the back of the head and blood clot) as my hair just wouldnt stop falling out.
Within weeks it had grown back , it grew back short and spikey at first (fuzzy) but then grew back normal.

I was just diagnosed my by OBGYN with hypothyroidism and was prescribed Sythroid 25mcg.
Total T4 was 5.3; Free T4 index (T7)-- (what is this??) was 1.6; and T3 uptake was 31% (also haven't read anything that explains this percentage)

Hi doctor, I have been experiencing hair loss for about 7 years now. It's getting to the point where I will have to shave it all off soon. It's quite noticeable. My doc told me to get the vitamin supplement centrum silver (I'm 27) bc it works wonders for ppl w hair loss. I also got vitamin E..pliers broke it open & opened it up & rubbed it on my scalp. I also bought a product called murad for thinning hair which you can get online. All of that worked wonders!! Within a month I noticed my scalp was not thin anymore & my hair actually began to thicken! If you do by the murad shampoo be careful to not get it near your ears.
Yes i felt like i was gonna go bald. I changed my vitamins and it stopped but im not sure if it was them or not.
I'm losing hair too. Not in clumps but I clog the drain once a week from my hair loss. And all my friends said their hair was so full and healthy during pregnancy and after lost some. I get a ball of hair during evey wash and its not normal for me also my scalp itches like crazy and I don't have bugs lol o had my husband check lol!
I was on orthotricyclen for over ten years and always had thick, healthy hair. I got off it last year and then about 5 months after I started spironolactone (for acne) my derm put me back on the pill. My skin cleared up almost immediately, but then my hair started shedding at a much faster than normal rate. (I'm also in the process of growing my hair out. It was very short and is now shoulder length, and long strands fall out everywhere.
