How else can I lose weight? I can't stand being hungry and have good weight loss results with low carb. Help please!

I have been tested for everything you can imagine, thyriod, even MRI's to see if I a brain tumor, or a tumor on my pituitary gland. I dont know what to do next, the only loss I have seen was HCG 18lbs, but I felt like I was starving myself. Any advice?

Avatar f tn A lot of the doctors here at MedHelp don't actually advocate the use of diet pills for weight loss. Depending on which forum you're on they will either suggest addressing emotional issues or making healthy lifestyle changes. As this is the emotional eating expert forum the doctor is likely to address the emotional aspect behind the eating. I understand how devastating weight gain, etc can be and how desperate we can feel to shift it. This expert has a website that you may find useful.

The initial complaint that I brought to my doctor was experiencing hair growth on my face, excess hair growth on my arms/legs/bikini, and hair loss on my head. I've since begun laser hair removal on my face and arms, but I am about 4 treatments in (24 wks) and am not noticing results. It is becoming more and more difficult to hold my head high- many days I don't even want to be seen in public.

Avatar m tn I think you need to reevaluate your weight loss goals. Most health professionals recommend losing between 1-2 pound per week for healthy weight loss. My personal opinion is that your calorie count is too low. In my personal experience losing weight on a very low calorie diet is extremely difficult (and isn't healthy and isn't sustainable long-term). I would recommend you check out the doctor's first blog here to get some tips on how to lose weight.

You get to express your concerns and even your successes in a community of people who accepts you and understands what you are dealing with. Have you ever thought about participating in an online forum or group? Scientific data shows that actually helps with weight loss.
Avatar m tn I checked it out and following a couple of the links, I find they are trying to get you to "join" and if you just want to browse the site without joining, they black out the screen so it's very hard if not impossible to read it. I just scrolled to the bottom and at the very end, it appears that they ultimately want you to pay $57 for some type of weight loss system that appears to include a couple of books, a journal and I'm not sure what else.
Avatar f tn Hi! I don't think hcg is healthy. I'm not a doctor nor do I have medical experience. Although I do have personal experience. I tried hcg for 4 days. I followed that protocol to the T. I did everything possible to stick to the diet. I lost .6 onces. OMG. I was so hungry I had headaches and fatigue. Not to mention sick feeling from not eating a whole meal. It was awful.

Avatar m tn First of all start eating healthy and less, around 1700 calories daily (for more info contact a nutritionist) please don't consume less than 1500/day. You could try jogging but if that's too intense for your knee a-45-minutes walk 4-5 times a week is proven to promote weight loss. Also you can look for exercises like crunches, curls and leg raises that won't make your knee worse. You can also follow my blog on tumblr for more inspiration and tips :) feel free to ask anything.

If you eat a meal of steak, gravy and chips (not the best choice) the carbohydrates from the meal will be digested first and used for energy, the rest will be stored. The human body only uses what it needs at one time, and stores the rest. If you engage in a high protein diet, your body will use stored body fat for energy as it will not have carbohydrates.

Don't let your current situation discourage you. I know how devastating it can feel, especially when you make huge efforts to shift the weight. My only concern is that you may have an all-or-nothing mentality which may make it harder for you to lose weight. Educating yourself may be enough to get past this.
