Avatar n tn im needing to find a simple diabetic diet plan. the doctor gave me one but it seems really complicated. does anyone know any good sources for diabetic diet plans?
Avatar f tn m glad you found this helpful! I did lose weight with being on the new meal plan and especially in the beginning of the diet. Now my weight is basically leveled out. I'm 37+2 and have barely gained weight since having GD and being on the new diet. Oh, and I know for me, my water intake has increased a lot! Maybe that has something to do with my weight, but I have noticed I'm more thirsty and mainly for cold water. So, if this should happen to you ladies do not worry and it is normal.
Avatar f tn So basically I struggle eating and would like to have a simple one off meal that's serves all my nutritional needs. I just forget to eat and because of this I'm underweight. Trying my best to put weight on but it's hard for me. So I came across homemade protien bars. made from oats, protien powder, peanut butter, almonds, milk, honey, chocolate, almonds and I decided to add in a multivitamin crushed into the flatjack mix. Isn't much fiber tho.
Avatar f tn I have a mostly healthy diet with a day or two in the month where I eat junk, like popcorn and apple pie with ice cream I recently started mixing Amazing Grass Superfoods and Wheat grass in my morning smoothies. My smoothies include a helping of berries: blue, black, and strawberries with banana and grape juice. Not sure if the superfoods have causes this grainy stool, but I am concerned since it lasts for a couple of days.
Avatar n tn that added sugar and fat make up more than 50 percent of the typical American diet and contributes to the obesity epidemic. Craving sweets after a meal can hamper weight loss efforts. You try to deny the craving, only making it more pronounced. If you indulge the craving, stopping with a small serving may be impossible for you.

Avatar f tn Its a 7 Day meal plan. You repeat it 2 weeks in a row. Its a basic breakfast with a toast fruit and Coffee or tea (i use semiskimmed milk too) then you have a breakfast and dinner with some kind of Meat and veggies and frut. You can drink water, tea and diet sodas as much as you please. And carrot and celery sticks also. I tend to have a tea or Coffee with milk around 6pm. There are 2 times in the week when you have fruit for Lunch.

2074844 tn?1331712383 First - can I ask how you got from 130 to 236? If this was done in a fast way you might want to talk to your dr about getting your thyroid tested. Make sure you ask for Free t3 and t4 testing because they're much more reliable at showing what the thyroid is doing than the regular TSH test. There are also several other possibilities that could cause excessive weight gain, and you really need to talk this over with your dr because they can make it harder to loose weight.
Avatar f tn You should probably try to vary your diet so you don't get tired of it. Make sure you eat protein with every meal/snack because protein fills you up and keeps you fuller longer. Protein can be a meat, eggs, fish, nuts/nut butter, etc. Also, don't forget to eat some healthy fat every day. Fat helps you feel satisfied, so you aren't looking for food between meals.
Avatar f tn I have had an endoscopy in the last 2 years or so and only thing that was noted was some inflammation. I recently (3 weeks ago) started a new diet plan called Transitions that is based on the low glycemic index and high protein. The basis is to eat protein with every meal so your blood sugar stabilizes throughout the day and you no longer crave sweets etc.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed met with a nutritionist so I can control it through diet. If you aren't on meds then you have to watch the carbs you eat per meal. My diet plan consists of 30 g of carbs per meal. Special k exceeds that in 1 serving. You should try to avoid breads, pastas, and watch your carb intake. Veggies and protein is alright and no limit on it. Try googling a diet to follow online and good luck.
Avatar n tn First thing you need have on hand is a home glucose test meter. The only way you're going to know how the foods you consumed affected your glucose [blood sugar] levels is by testing, testing, and more testing. Times to test are; fasting - first thing in morning b4 having any food or colored liquids [plain water is OK]. This will tell you how much stored sugar your liver is dumping during sleep hours. Normal levels are 60/70 - 99 mg/dl or 3.33/3.88 - 5.
Avatar f tn If you follow the plan which you mentioned, its definitely calorie deficit plan, but I am sure the calories will be less than Your BMR, and its not good to go less than it. You should be eating around your BMR and less than TEE for weight loss. I would suggest you to http://getsetgo.fitness/#/public/diet/ visit this page and check your BMR and look for few simple diet plans and this is surely gona change your life style. I could do it by following flexible dieting and hope even you can.
Avatar f tn I was really scared at first, but if you follow the diet plan and you control your sugars you will be fine. My daughter is now 6 yo and was born weighing only 7lbs and didnt have sugar problems. With this pregnancy I have maintained my sugars since January and havent needed any meds just diet control.
Avatar f tn This was somewhat helpful in that ADA lists foods that are recommended but does not offer a meal plan for weight loss along the lines of the Scarsdale Diet, the Mayo Clinic, etc., which diets eliminate all carbs. Even Dr. Atkins strongly advised against staying on his diet plan long-term for the same reason: no carbs. I visited Weight Watchers and inquired about their plan for diabetics and was told there is an extra cost because their instructors have to take additional training.
