Started Prevacid and also Strattera for ADD. We were able to wean off of the Prevacid and just stick to Strattera, as our peds thinks the Strattera helps him with the anxiety related to the GERD, and therefore he had no complaints of symptoms of GERD. In March we went off of the Strattera, and within 4 weeks the symptoms of GERD re-appeared ( Not eating, coughing, feeling like something is caught in his throat.) We went back on Strattera and Prevacid.

I have adhd/anxiety/ibs-d. I was on librax for two years and did not know it had librium. My fault for not researching the medicine. After I realize that I am developing a tolerance I stop taking it and try something else. My GP thinks my ibs is because of my adhd\anxiety but I haven't been on medicine for it since college. Starts out with my former medicine, strattera, but when I would take it I felt my heart was out of control and my blood pressure went up.

The Adderal XR was effective at combating my ADHD symptoms but made my anxiety worse, so my doctor prescribed Strattera. I found the Strattera to be not nearly as effective as Adderal XR, so without consulting my doctor, I began taking both medications together. This is working extraordinarily well. The Strattera seems to ease my anxiety while slightly reducing ADHD symptoms and the Adderal XR nearly eliminates the remaining ADHD symptoms.

Are you seeing a doctor or psychiatrist? Since both Cymbalta and strattera target norepinephrine, they could conflict, and could cause more anxiety -- they're both stimulants to a certain extent, though both can also cause sedation, meds being what they are.

ask your Dr. about Strattera. It is prescribed for Attention Deficit disorder, but is not a stimulant. It is non-addictive and not a controlled substance. It also has some of the same properties as SSNRI's. Since it affects neurotransmitters it is a very useful drug.

t seem to work for me, they make me extremely irritable and give me chest pains. Tried strattera but it made me extremely emotional, to the point of sobbing for no reason. My doctor put me on Buspar, 5 mg 2x a day to help with my ADHD...but I have not read any solid literature on Buspar and its effects on ADHD symptoms. Is this a good drug to go on for ADHD? Has anyone else been on this drug for ADHD?

am i being over medicated?the dr told me that im on low doses is that true?....i was wondering if strattera will work for me in the future...

I have been diagnose with major depressive disorder generalized anxiety and adhd when i was 17 or 18 had a nervous breakdown they put me on 150mg zoloft 60mg strattera and 3mg xanax did fine then about 3 years ago stopped driving at this time i wasnt taking the strattera or xanax just the fear of driving bc i had 2 major panick attacks while by myself fast forward 3 years going through a divorce and the depression and crazy thoughts came on bad well before the divorce was trying to get off the z

40mg once a day for the antacid. Anxiety wise, I've only taken random classes at community college because I haven't been confident in my ability to actually complete a degree. I want to change all of this and work my way to a university. I get anxious when I think about how behind I am compared to my friends, that I don't know what I want to do degree/career wise, and other things mostly related to self-confidence.

I would take her to a pediatric psychologist for a second opinion. It sounds like she is being medicated for the side effects from the Strattera and she may be over stimulated.

Strattera would be the absolute worst possible choice to treat tremors/shaking! Of course it would have made you feel worse! It's a stimulant ("upper") used primarily to treat ADD/ADHD. Were you put on that for the shaking? Do you have an ADD/ADHD diagnosis? I would recommend findind a new doctor, who can look at the situation from a fresh perspective, and offer other options. Don't write off medications in general based on just ONE...

He had a reaction from the stimulants and can not take them. HAs anyone used accupuncture for controlling ADD symptoms?

Strattera is a non stimulant med used for ADHD. Whether or not it would be effective for you, I don't know. This site lists almost all possible treatment options. Although for some reason, I couldn't find Strattera listed, so you need to google that. My main concern now is that they (his doctor and mother) have elevated his drug regimine to include 3 drugs that have known interactions with each other, 1 (Concerta) that is known to potentially cause sudden death, and 2 (Clonidine and Zolpidem) that are not recommended for children. Although Strattera does have some potential side effects, I believe it is by far the safest.

is that abilify is a good suplement to another drug, not necessarily good to be the primary drug. for instance my dr. added abilify to my effexor and strattera for the cognitive, energizing and 'easier to deal with stress' effects of the abilify. but the effexor is still my main mood booster and the strattera is still my main anxiety damper.

my 14 year old daughter was diagnosed with ADD. doctor put her on 25mg. strattera for a month and then up to 40mg. In 4 months she has lost 28lbs. she is down to 90 lbs. and is 5'6". They have been used by millions and studied (in some cases) for more then 50 years. Unfortunately, some times, a doctor is too busy or simply ignorant, and a patient can suffer because of that. Hence, the importance of communication.   But in all cases - studies have shown that a combination of medication and behavioral therapy is the most effective. In short, you need to know and understand how to cope with this.

My doctor has me on welubturon 150mg, strattera 25mg and klonopin 1mg. The klonopin for sleep. I love the way the other two make me feel throughout the day. Focused, happy. However, I work for a gym and my physical abilities are very important as they are my job. Ever since I've started the strattera, I'm only able to give about 60% and I still feel flu'ish. Weak, sick, cold sweats. That's not me. They want me to try this for three weeks.

I still seemed spaced out. Then I begged for Adderall after taking 3 30mg for 3 days my girlfriend got for me as a test. The Adderall has made me a different person. I use to be called ADD boy by my friends parents. LOL The only thing I have to watch is my blood pressure. I'm 42 and the adderall has the reverse affect as that of a normal person. Call your doctor right away if your child has thoughts of suicide or sudden changes in mood or behavior, especially at the beginning of treatment or after a change in dose.

My son is 14 and we recently found out he has aspergers, he is seeing a counselor at this point. He gets a lot of anxiety over a lot of things. I was wondering if any of you get medication for your child for anxiety. We go back to the counselor next week and I am going to ask her about it but wanted to hear from some of you who have a child like me. I think medication would really help him.

I'm hoping someone here can help, perhaps a Ph.D. or someone with knowledge/experience of medicines-- I have been diagnosed ADHD since I was a little kid (early grade school) and diagnosed with social anxiety at 17yrs old (towards the end of high school). I've been on and off multiple medicines for both (I've been on 5-10 different drugs; see my personal feedback below on some of the meds if you are interested in that information). I also very much think I have OCD.
