hey my diagnoses is bipolar depression i take 150 zoloft,50naltrexone,60mg inderol,trileptal 900,stelazine 6mg,cogentin 0.

I have been diagnose with major depressive disorder generalized anxiety and adhd when i was 17 or 18 had a nervous breakdown they put me on 150mg zoloft 60mg strattera and 3mg xanax did fine then about 3 years ago stopped driving at this time i wasnt taking the strattera or xanax just the fear of driving bc i had 2 major panick attacks while by myself fast forward 3 years going through a divorce and the depression and crazy thoughts came on bad well before the divorce was trying to get off the z

Both the Strattera and the Lexapro can be used as anti-depressants and both can cause sedation. The treatment, if it is going to work for ADHD or depression should work within 3 weeks. I would ask your psychiatrist if you can be tried on a different medicine regimen as this one is not only not helping you, it is making you feel worse. According to the web, Strattera carries with it a "black box warning" - the most serious warning a prescription med can carry and still be on the market - that strattera has been linked to suicidal thoughts in children. I agree with Margy - I would call that doing terribly on strattera. I'm not quite sure what behaviors strattera has helped with, but a child with new suicide thoughts are about the worst thing I can think of.

Strattera is used to treat ADD/ADHD in both adults and children. However, Prozac is used to treat depression as well as to eliminate or reduce the symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and bulimia nervosa (an eating disorder). t feeling the Strattera and could i please get enough adderal until the Strattera kicked in. He originally had boo hooed any narcotic adhd meds. But he gave me enough for a week. When I took the amphetamine I immediately felt relief and I am at an age where I am pretty sure what my body needs and I don't want to play around with newer drugs with side effects I am afraid of.

I am an over 35 Adult female with ADHD. I have been taking Strattera for several years. It wasn't until my aggressive behavior and anger was announced to me by my husband as being a problem that I sought help with counceling and with my primary care Doctor. The first thing my Doctor said to me was that Strattera was known to cause heightened aggression and mood swings. He also said that due to the fact that I am super-sensitive to any medication it could make it much worse. Is this possible?

Started Prevacid and also Strattera for ADD. We were able to wean off of the Prevacid and just stick to Strattera, as our peds thinks the Strattera helps him with the anxiety related to the GERD, and therefore he had no complaints of symptoms of GERD. In March we went off of the Strattera, and within 4 weeks the symptoms of GERD re-appeared ( Not eating, coughing, feeling like something is caught in his throat.) We went back on Strattera and Prevacid.

I am a 24 year old female and began taking Strattera 6 or 7 months ago. It seemed effective at first, but was wearing off so we increased from 80mg to 100mg a little over a month ago. A few weeks ago, within minutes of swallowing the pill, my heart began to hurt very, very badly (my throat, too) that basically incapacitated me from doing anything and left me trying to vomit it out. This chest pain lasted for about 1.5 hours.

only took it 5 days now I am discontinue it. My doc mentioned trying concerta or strattera. Anybody have experience like this or with these meds?

My son developed Raynard's Phenomen after taking Strattera. Weaning him down on the dosage reduced the symptoms. His hands otherwise where blue, white, and cold through out the day. He had a reaction from the stimulants and can not take them. HAs anyone used accupuncture for controlling ADD symptoms?

m maintaining on Lamictal and Celexa, with later additions of bupropion and most recently Strattera for symptoms of ADHD that persisted. RE: Strattera, it helped with concentration, not much with attention, but overall improved mood significantly to the point I feel well and stable more than I can remember in my life. My psychiatrist, however, is concerned that despite my current situation the number of different meds I now take worsens the odds of a good outcome longer term.

I have been on both strattera and adderall. Adderall is very addicting to this (me) addict. The strattera didnt give the buzz adderall did. ALSO many people have reported adderall increased depression. I hope this helps. Congrats on getting off the opiates. YOUR AWESOME !!

Strattera is a non stimulant med used for ADHD. Whether or not it would be effective for you, I don't know. This site lists almost all possible treatment options. Although for some reason, I couldn't find Strattera listed, so you need to google that. Well im a 32 yr old male and suffer from severe adhd, bi-polar, and depression. Been on lexapro and adderall for about two years it has been much better then my last combo of wellbutren and litium. i have been off the adderall for a few months because i am a recovering addict and started well, always abused the adderall. I am suffering so bad with concentration and focus its affecting my work BAD... Is it safe to take lexapro and strattera?

My doctor has recently added strattera to my cocktail mix. So I am now on Cymbalta + Strattera for general anxiety/ OCD. Has anyone had any luck with Stratttera being added to there antidepressant. My doctor said this was a great combo.

t been on medicine for it since college. Starts out with my former medicine, strattera, but when I would take it I felt my heart was out of control and my blood pressure went up. Now on wellbutrin for about a week but I feel foggy and it is causing worse ibs. Not sure if that side effect will go away but giving it a try. My question is, if anyone can answer, why was I able to take strattera as a child with 0 side effects and then high heart rate etc now.

Strattera would be the absolute worst possible choice to treat tremors/shaking! Of course it would have made you feel worse! It's a stimulant ("upper") used primarily to treat ADD/ADHD. Were you put on that for the shaking? Do you have an ADD/ADHD diagnosis? I would recommend findind a new doctor, who can look at the situation from a fresh perspective, and offer other options. Don't write off medications in general based on just ONE...

ask your Dr. about Strattera. It is prescribed for Attention Deficit disorder, but is not a stimulant. It is non-addictive and not a controlled substance. It also has some of the same properties as SSNRI's. Since it affects neurotransmitters it is a very useful drug.

My doctor has me on welubturon 150mg, strattera 25mg and klonopin 1mg. The klonopin for sleep. I love the way the other two make me feel throughout the day. Focused, happy. However, I work for a gym and my physical abilities are very important as they are my job. Ever since I've started the strattera, I'm only able to give about 60% and I still feel flu'ish. Weak, sick, cold sweats. That's not me. They want me to try this for three weeks.

ve been prescribed adderall for the past 4 years, I currently take 75mg per day. A couple months ago my Dr. started me on strattera in conjunction with my adderall. I have not noticed any improvement in my ability to concentrate or remain organized since starting the strattera, however my anxiety is gone and I am finally happy. The Adderal XR was effective at combating my ADHD symptoms but made my anxiety worse, so my doctor prescribed Strattera. I found the Strattera to be not nearly as effective as Adderal XR, so without consulting my doctor, I began taking both medications together. This is working extraordinarily well. The Strattera seems to ease my anxiety while slightly reducing ADHD symptoms and the Adderal XR nearly eliminates the remaining ADHD symptoms.
