i've been on stelazine for about a year now along with the rest of the meds i started strattera about last month...

t want to play around with newer drugs with side effects I am afraid of. i know how the amphetamine adhd meds makes me feel and I am working now and doing fine but in a few days I will be out. I won't meet him (my psychiatrist)for another month. How can I get him to let me be on adderal instead of Strattera when he is afraid I will get addicted?

Hello again, "Anybody have experience like this or with these meds?" The following is all just my opinion. Everyone reacts to medicine differently: Concerta is an extended release form of Ritalin. Which is what I took when I was a kid. It is still a stimulant but it is much milder than Adderall. I think more doctors should start patients Concerta because it has fewer side effects than Adderall.

My son also could not take the Strattera due to side effects, but the side sffects are in the same category as SSNRI's. A lot of people just can't take them. Some have no problems. I am interested in the Provigil because he does well with stimulants. Hope negive finds this info useful too.

My question is, if anyone can answer, why was I able to take strattera as a child with 0 side effects and then high heart rate etc now. Im thinking it was the benzo withdrawal but I have no experience with that either so Idk. Also, with wellbutrin I dont have the heart rate just feel sleepy and foggy mind. Any help would be appreciated and forgive any typos. I'm on my phone.

I would take her to a pediatric psychologist for a second opinion. It sounds like she is being medicated for the side effects from the Strattera and she may be over stimulated.

I am surprised that he gave you vyvanse. My dr. gave me Wellbutrin and it produced none of the side effects you mention except decreased cravings for caffeine and sweets. Our pharmacist said vyvanse is a lot like adderall; he said everyone seems to be using it who would have previously been on adderall. It is very trendy right now. But I do not think it would help with anxiety at all, and I would guess anxiety might be causing your heart rate to be rapid.

My daughter is nearly 11 years old and has been taking Concerta (now on 36mg) since March. The doctor recommended a switch to Strattera for the reason that it works 24 hours (Concerta is effective for only 12 hours) and will help my daughter concentrate more. She is very depressed and has cut herself. I know as a teenager, you can go through a depression, but reading side effects Srattera can cause it. We are in counseling. He's letting you know that something is very wrong. It may be med related for sure. But it would still need addressed beyond just stopping the medication. It is working for his ADHD but it has loads of side effects (and he cannot take any of the stimulant type meds). We are not sure what to do about the semen leakage. He, understandably, is embarrassed about this and has started to wear diapers to work to protect his clothes. Is this the best option? Anyone has suggestions. Pain medications have numerous side effects and those who do take pain meds on a regular basis do usually have some kind of depression due to the fact that they do have chronic pain but as far as the meds causing depression or bipolar no I do not believe so.

I have been on both strattera and adderall. Adderall is very addicting to this (me) addict. The strattera didnt give the buzz adderall did. ALSO many people have reported adderall increased depression. I hope this helps. Congrats on getting off the opiates. YOUR AWESOME !!

I've been on strattera for two weeks and the only strong side effect I seem to have is that I get really tired or fatigued around 2:00pm. Will this side effect subside over time? Is there anyway to lessen it? I've tried other ADD medications however because they are stimulants I tend to get really agitated or even a little paranoid when I'm on them so I am hoping that Strattera works out ok. Are there any other non-stimulant ADD medications?

so he reffered me to a p doc i am now on zoloft 150/naltraxone 50mg/Trileptal 900 mg/stelazine 6mg/cogentin 0.5 /inderol 60mg and now just started strattera...am i being over medicated?the dr told me that im on low doses is that true?....i was wondering if strattera will work for me in the future...
