Stomach ulcer reflux

Common Questions and Answers about Stomach ulcer reflux

stomach

Avatar f tn I am not an expert in this but what you are describing sounds like stomach ulcers. The pain is usually caused by excessive stomach acid irritation. Acid reflux is definately one of the symptoms. Please try drinking fresh as this does much to neutralize the acid and relieve the pains. But please go see your doctor as soon as possible since if left untreated, ulcers can get too serious. Hope this helps you.
Avatar f tn Basically long story short I've had what my doctor believes is a stomach ulcer since last December, I've taken PPIs since then and the awful pain has returned all day today. It was really bad when I woke up so I took my tablet and ate it went away, but it's been coming and going. I haven't had much of an apetite all day and now after eating a pizza it's really bad.
Avatar f tn The doctor said that it should not have been blamed on my prengnancy but that I probably have anxiaty attacks. When I read up on it online it sounded more like a stomach ulcer. COuld that be right ? How do I tell ??
Avatar f tn Might be ulcer, reflux maybe?
Avatar m tn Hi, After eating quite badly for the last 6 months or so (much more fatty foods and late night meals etc.) I have developed burning in my stomach and chest which didn't go away by itself. Now, the GP didn't do any GI tract or endoscopy checks or anything (i'm 25, otherwise very healthy) so he gave me 4 weeks of proton pump inhibitors.
Avatar m tn One of the Drs i work with mentioned dumping syndrome, i have some reflux but its not bad... just extreme pain in my stomach when its empty... Ive been on carafate and prevacid etc.. nothing brings relief but eating or drinking milk... im miserable.... anyone have any suggestions???
1324372 tn?1293388342 It sounds like it, my stepfather has this same issue. The other thing it could be is a stomach ulcer, which I've heard has much the same reaction- I have a bleeding stomach ulcer and while I've not experienced gagging as you're describing I do occasionally get a burning in my throat located in the base of my neck (front side).
Avatar m tn Most importantly have you ever heard of cases like mine where no matter what they did stomach reflux would return?? Much appreciated with your response. Im just trying to beat this naturally first than if I must and there is no other option go to surgery. Thanking you in anticipation.
358304 tn?1409709492 its kinda dull.. but annoying... My actual stomach doesnt hurt... and my acid reflux issues have been gone for about a week now... but i'm left with this pain in the lower left abdominal area. Now, LAST YEAR... I had this EXACT same pain, in the EXACT same spot.. except I don't recall having acid reflux with it... however, I was having HIGH anxiety and IBS symptoms... I thought It could be an ulcer? My cousin said he had one, and his pain was in the same area.
Avatar n tn My pain is in the upper middle and right side of stomach. The right side of my back hurts to. I take medicine for Acid reflux, high blood pressure and allergies. I also might have IBS. Can't get rid of pain. HELP!!!
Avatar n tn mild pain in the upper left side of the stomach down to the side. Worse after i take spiced food. What is it?
Avatar f tn I started having GERD/acid reflux symptoms that popped up out of nowhere one day. I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer, based off of symptoms, about 8 months ago. I completed my antibiotics and have been taking Prilosec since. The pain is slightly better...less intense gnawing pain and my stomach is less tender to the touch.
Avatar f tn The reason stomach acid does not destroy your stomach is because your stomach is lined with mucus membranes. Stomach acid is not like the advertisements that show the acid in a container and a TUMS is added to the container and the acid is neutralized. Your stomach has acid pumps that spew acid whenever food or liquid is added in your stomach. I do not know how many acid pumps there are in a human's stomach, but enough to attack whatever is added to your stomach for digestion purposes.
Avatar f tn m pretty sure it is used to treat stomach and duodenal (intestinal) ulcers, and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). That might point you in the right direction. Sounds like you should still see your GP though.
Avatar m tn Well two weeks ago I had really bad acid reflux for a few days and felt nauseated and couldn't eat much. My relative, a doctor at Kaiser, told me to take a 150 Zantac tablet after breakfast and 1 after dinner for an entire week. Each 12 hours apart. Since it wasn't an official visit he wasn't able to give me an official diagnosis. Well it seems like my problems have changed.
Avatar n tn yellow stool usually indicates gallbladder issues so this whole thing might be gallbladder related (not to send you into a nervous panic but gallbladder pain is a lot like ulcers and sometimes bile reflux can end up in your stomach so that would also cause your symptoms and also cause ulcers. Again usually diagnosed with endoscope *with bile in the stomach seen* or an ultrasound/HIDA scan of gallbladder...I bet if you ate something fatty/oily you'd probably get sick right?
Avatar n tn The usual meds (Tagamet and Nexium) did nothing for me. The docs suspected a stomach ulcer (which is usually treated with antacid meds and a combination of antibiotics, but also takes time to heal) or a reflux disorder. I still don't have a diagnosis, but the endoscopy did tell the docs that it wasn't an ulcer, hernia, abscess or other infection.
Avatar f tn I have this problem, it caused an ulcer in my stomach, I had to be on a diet of low acidic foods such as veg, low acid fruit, only whole grain - never seeded - bread. No white carbs at all. Only water, no sugary foods/drinks and no caffeine either. It's an extremely healthy diet but not much fun lol. I was prescribed gaviscon and omeprizol, a stomach acid blocker.
Avatar f tn Only if I have a ulcer. I had to go to a specialist and get medicine to help me so I hopefully wouldn't get an ulcer.
Avatar f tn I think of two things one is an infection if you had a productive cough or sore throat. THe other is perhaps it is bile from the gallbladder or a stomach ulcer something along those lines might fit since you have a lack of appetite as well and constipation. You may be backed up due to the constipation. I would see a GI doctor and have them give you an exam as well as perhaps some scans.
Avatar f tn I was taking Esomeprazole levosulpride empty stomach daily. In november2016, i had constipation, bloating, acid reflux. Having bad stomach ache i was admitted and diagnosed with infective ulceritis. Started medication. But condition wasnt improving. In april2017, had colonoscopy done. Found terminal illeal ulcer. After the medications, condition wasnt improving. Severe constipation, acid reflux. I have consulted numerous doctors. Some have told me to live with this my entire life.
Avatar n tn Obviously, increased gastric acidity or reflux of stomach acid into the esophagus can cause discomfort and changes to the lining of the esophagus. Whether an ulcer has formed or not needs to be assessed during the endoscopy. At the same time, your physician will be able to examine the lining of the stomach and esophagus for any other concerns. The important thing is that you are getting examined. Best wishes.
Avatar m tn For the last six months I have been having this burning, crampy pain in my stomach. It makes me feel like I want to vomit and belch. But mostly, it is a real bad burning pain. This all started after I was exposed to my mother in law who has H.Pylori. Then, I started having a couple of drinks two nights a week ( either a couple of beers or a couple of Strawberry daiquiris). My stomach has always been very weak and bothersome to me anyhow.
1337425 tn?1278173987 ve also have 2 stomach surgeries, once a third of my stomach was removed due to a huge ulcer, and the 2nd was a bowel resection, so I know only too well what an endoscopy is... I've just been putting off far too long having another done, I'm afraid. I guess I'd better give in and call the dr. tomorrow. Because of my ulcers, I don't drink alcohol at all anymore either.
Avatar n tn There could be several things going on. It sounds like possible stomach problems. GERD, gastritis, an ulcer. And possible heart problems. I'm not sure of your age, you may be very young and heart problems might be ruled out. You really need to get in to see your Dr as soon as possible. You did'nt give much information so I'm not sure what is going on. It's better to be safe with any kind of feelings in your chest.
