Common Questions and Answers about Stomach pains during first trimester of pregnancy

stomach-pain

Avatar f tn This is my first pregnancy and I'm in the second trimester and have been experiencing very painful cramping since before I found out I was pregnant. The doctor had said it was growing pains but should be gone by the end of the first trimester. I'm still having these pains. What could it be?
Avatar f tn Your uterus is expanding along with your muscles and ligaments. Im 10weeks with my second but with my first i had alot of stomach pains they said it was stretching. I had my first ultrasound with my second at 8weeks and we could see the baby and the heart beat. It was an internal ultrasound. The baby was too small to see with the ultrasound over the belly. With my first pregnancy i had an ultrasound at 6weeks and 11weeks and both times they had to do it internally. Sleeping alot is normal.
Avatar n tn Lol things can be very scary your first time , I had the stomach muscles all the time like when I stood up . But this pregnancy I get Charlie horses almost every night !
Avatar f tn I had thst during the night in my first trimester! It was like a sharp cramping unbearable pain!
Avatar f tn Some abdominal cramping during pregnancy can be normal. In the first trimester its common to get round ligament pain. As your uterus grows, the stretching can cause twinges, cramps, pulling sensations, or sharp pains on one or both sides of your lower abdomen.
Avatar f tn I'm 14 weeks and I have been having a small amount of stomach pains. I keep reading this is normal because my ligaments etc are stretching and baby is growing..is anyone else experincing this and if so how much or where is your pain? I'm kinda nervous since this is my 4th pregnancy and this is the furthest I have gotten.
Avatar f tn m almost five months and have only gained seven. Is because of all the morning sickness I had during the first trimester.
Avatar f tn I had small stomach cramps my entire first trimester but i had that with my first pregnancy as well so i knew it wasn't anything bad but if yours are really hurting you and your heart rate is up I'd call your birthing center if your Dr's office isn't open.
Avatar f tn i am not constipated and no blood to suspect hemmaeroids.
Avatar f tn My stomach got hard at the end of my first trimester!
8197902 tn?1408058802 I agree it sounds like ligament pains. With my 2nd pregnancy I got a belly band for the pain, it helped a lot. It helps to support the weight and take pressure off your ligaments. I only needed it during my 2nd trimester and surprisingly didn't need it my 3rd. I ordered mine off of Amazon.
1472764 tn?1287588186 The general rule of thumb is to stick to what your body is used to. So if you always excercised alot, it's fine, although as things progress you might want to tone it down a bit. However, mid pregnancy is not the time to start anything strenous..lol. Just listen to your body, and you'll be fine.
Avatar f tn If it worries you more, just ask your doctor. :) it went away for me about the end of first trimester beginning of second. Now I'm nineteen weeks and only thing killing me is how much I gotta pee and my nipples hurting!
Avatar f tn Cramping is normal after sex but idk about sharp pains during. Maybe just take it easy and talk to your dr about it. not wanting sex is also very normal it will come and go with pregnancy just talk to him about it.
Avatar n tn Sometimes pregnancy can trigger IBS symptoms. Trust me, I spent most of my 1st trimester freaking out, thinking I was going to lose my baby. But it is just the IBS flaring up because of the hormones. I mean, I would wake up in the middle of the night with brutal cramps, thinking I was having a miscarriage, and it ended up being the other, thank God. Tell your doctor about it. Mine was not concerned at all. Just make sure you are drinking lots of fluids.
Avatar f tn My first pregnancy was very easy no symptoms at all.Just a giant stomach. Now I'm am pregnant with my second almost four years later and just in my first trimester and I am sick all the time. Labor during my first pregnancy wasn't difficult just long. I wanted to go natural but turns out the pain was too much for me. Good luck and don't worry because what ever pain you go through you'll forget all about it when its over and you're holding your new baby.
Avatar f tn I had that happen when I was in my first trimester. I would just snack on cheeze-its, teddy grams, jello, pudding. A little bit of something is better than nothing. Snacking was very helpful fof me.
Avatar f tn Has anyone experience occasional random shooting pain in the stomach/belly during pregnancy? I don't remember having them with my first pregnancy. Not sure how concerned I should be or if it is a part of normal growth.
Avatar f tn My first pregnancy I craved dairy like crazy and ate cereal almost non stop. This pregnancy I get a sick stomach after eating dairy foods and it's progressing to even the most minor dairy consumption. Anyone else experience this? Thanks!
691236 tn?1311199974 I have been feeling so good-never had any morning symptoms or anything during all of first trimester so maybe it is just catching up to me now! I have finally been released from our RE to my OBGYN and I see him on Wed so I will ask him. I am feeling much better today though. Congrats to you on your pregnancy and good luck to you!!!
Avatar n tn Yes, end of first trimester I had horrible gas pains. Ask your doctor or OB what they suggest. My problem stemmed from constipation and my doctor said lots of fluids, avoid processed and fatty/deep fried foods and milk of magnesia.
Avatar f tn This is my first pregnancy, 9 wks and having the most horrible time with morning sickness, I feel sick 24/7. And have a loss in appetite, which scares me bc I know I need to eat health, I don't want to eat meats, I crave salads, but just the though of eating meat eww! Any suggestions?
