Every once in a while I have pretty severe pains under my ribs. It usually occurs on the right side, but sometimes it can spread to the middle, over to the left slightly and to the middle of my back. It usually feels like there is a bit of swelling. I also have nausea some of the time. The pain usually only lasts for 4-5 hours, but the last pain I've had has lasted from Wednesday around 4 a.m. and has continued through today (Thursday).

Not sure what to think. Left side below rib and left side of belly button has stabbing pains. Not constant. I have been nauseated for the last couple of days and my stomach has been upset.

Lately ever time I eat I get a knott (spasm) in the middle of my ribs at my stomach. I have had a Cat scan, blood work, pelvic ultrasound, ultra sound of my kidneys and there is nothing abnormal. I know there is something wrong. I wouldnt have pain, other wise. Sometimes I will get sharp pains after eating and I have to wait a few seconds and then it goes away.
Anyone got any thoughts.... I will probably have to find another doctor....
I have a blood pressure and the doctor gave me ( lisinopril ) tablet but after two years of taking it i am have stomach pain and chest pain sometimes if i sit down i will have the same pain in my back,i went to doctor to check me out he said there's nothing wrond with me ....please can anyone help me out here?????
The pain is in the middle right under where your ribs meet. I agree - I called my Doc yesterday and waiting for a call back. I think it is time to move on to plan C. Since A and B did not work! Something is not right somewhere. The cramping pain passes in a hour or so, but I feel horrible the rest of the day. I work full time and have 2 small kids.... I don't need this to continue to happen.
I have been having "attacks" of pain just below my ribs in the middle of my chest, wrapping around to my back. I feel like I cannot breathe and it feels like my ribs are compressing my lungs. I have taken pain killers and nothing seems to help. It can last anywhere from ten minutes to a couple hours.
It comes and goes its really high like right under the v part the ribs and top of stomach. I had a scope down the throat and and stomach they said there is redness and iritation there and had colonosopy also both done in june. I also had a colon ososcopy done five yrs ago and it was fine but this time they say i had a tortues colon meaning lots of twists and turns but its funny i didnt have it five yrs ago.
I have been getting pains under my ribs and it has been going through 2 my back a couple of times now sometimes I get out of breath because of it. not sure how far on I am yet got the midwife on Tuesday .
it was approximately in the area under my breast closer to the middle. it was severe enough to require pain meds. as it did not go away after two weeks, i went to my gp. she ordered a ultrasound to check for gallstones and anything on the liver. the test came back showing nothing. since then, the pain has moved away from the middle and closer to the right side. it is can range from mild to pretty severe pain.
A couple nights ago I woke up with bad tightness/pain in kind of my lower-ribs area. So a bit to low for heart pain, and a bit to high for stomach. It seems to only happen when I sleep, and if I turn onto my back, it eventually goes away. I'm not sure what this could be, but any help would be appreciated.
My pain is right below my ribs, like in the upper middle part of my stomach. It started randomly hurting me on Wednesday it stopped for a day but it's hurting again. It hurts so bad it's been waking me up at night. It hurts worse at night than anytime This has never happened before so I'm kinda worried. What could it be?
