I have a pain in between my ribs that just hurts. Doesnt feel like I have to throw up or use the bathroom just hurts. Also have a bad taste in my mouth. I only get it like once a month... any clues?

Xojensen_ Between my ribs that's what I meant which is ur stomach and Miza_Rose it don't hurt no more Bt I agree if it happens again I'm definitely going to the ER

Doing this to you, its because ur growinh uterus is pushing ur stomach and intestines way into ur ribs and they are competing for room between the growing baby, stomach and lungs.. all under the rib cage and hence the pain. I usually take 2 extra strength tylenol to deal with it. Some times the baby is high up in the uterus which causes it to hurt more.. other times when its lower it doesny hurt as much.. eitherway... try to sseeif sitting and resting up straight helps..

I was up all last night in agony I don't know wats wrong I feel like my ribs are being squashed in a vice. I couldn't move for about 3 hours and I woke up this morning n my stomach feels really wierd :-/ baby is very active but it's hurting xx wat could it be?

At 1st I kept thinking there was something wrong with my mattress and eventually flipped it. Then the pain got worse and I grabbed my ribs and realized it was my body and not the bed (I know... a little slow on that one). Now it has gotten so painful that I can't sleep in any position but on my back. I have a little swelling too, but mostly just pain nearly everywhere I touch on my right rib area.

when you press on your stomach lightly, it is ONLY the area under the left rib? what about surrounding areas? it could be a wide array of reasons....

For the last few weeks I have been getting a burning sensation in my upper stomach which then brings on a pain between my shoulder blades. Sometimes my stomach just feels bloated and uncomfortable. The burning sensation becomes worse when I eat. The pain in my upper back can go from a dull ache to feeling like someone is trying to pull my muscles out! Any ideas?

I have been having "attacks" of pain just below my ribs in the middle of my chest, wrapping around to my back. I feel like I cannot breathe and it feels like my ribs are compressing my lungs. I have taken pain killers and nothing seems to help. It can last anywhere from ten minutes to a couple hours.

i am 16 years old and for the past few months, about 3. it's happed before, it didnt just start, i throw up my stomach lining, it yellow and stringy. in the middle of the night i always wake up to a strong pain in my stomach, in between my ribs. it doesn't only happen then, it happends through out the day to and the only thing that helps it feel better is to eat something, but it's not a hunger pain. any suggestions?

Although you are always welcome here I do think they your question may be better suited for Family Medicine or the Respiratory Disorders Forum. I think you may obtain more response at either forum. All I can suggest is that you see another physician if the one you were seeing is unable to give you any reasons for your pain.

i have had it on and off fo 10 years and its really sore also my stomach where i get the pain by my ribs is always tender to touch. i have had scans xrays blood tests and nothing is showing up, no one knows what this could be im on tablets for acid and tablets for ibs and neither are working as i have the pain severel times since. ...

Sometimes indigestion or heartburn can cause chest pain and a feeling of heat, plus of course an upset stomach. Try looking into that, maybe changing your diet or getting some sort of medication to soothe it. Other chest pain can be muscular. I myself recently saw a cardiologist for aching and occasional stabbing pain slightly left of center and that what it was.

You can try to do the ice pack trick. If a foot strays up to the ribs, place an ice pack in the area. A lot of time, this is incentive for them to move.
