I've searched the web and here and no really good answer. I'm taking a Sonata about 3 or 4 oclock in the morning. It does cause some jitters next day. Now I've started Sam-e and a Super Beta Complex and the Jitters are unbearable. I take some Xanax and it helps some. I can't take much and still function.
The question is ... Is it the Sam-e or the Super B Complex causing the extreme jitters or anxiety?
I've been having very bad insomnia, and used Xanax from the 11th of this month to the 16th of this month. I was prescribed 20 .5 mg pills, and used 12 of them during that span of time (not quite 2 a day, but that's the average, I guess). Had bad anxiety attacks after getting off, but Im not sure if that's from general anxiety/mental problems, or from the drug itself.
I had another panic attack and went to the emergency room for it and was prescribed Sonata 5MG (30 capsules).
Anyway I have been with this replaced doctor for a yr and a half, I had been explaining to him that 2 vicaprofen in a 24 hour period is not sufficient he by the way had taken me off the motrin and changed my Xanax to Ativan. I also have been on sonata 10 mg for all these yrs. I was given a urine test which is pretty normal, before I took it I told him that there would prob. not be hydrocodone in it as we had been discussing that I needed more pain relief.
I am off the subject here on this forum, but I want to thank you for the information about what has worked for you to help you sleep. I hope you can post it on the sleep problems forum. That is where many could be helped too. I tried several different things when I went to bed last night....I turned out all lights including the patio one that lights up the yard but also one of the windows. I turned the clock to the wall. I used ear plugs to shut out most sounds.
in Tylenol PM), 2 ounces of Nyquil, one Lunesta or Sonata (whichever I can lay hands upon), and one 1 mg Xanax (but not every night, to avoid addiction). When I can take all of it, ninety five percent of the time I sleep within an hour or an hour and a half. Without the xanax it still works about half of the time.
my dr just put me on sonata for sleep and i am being treated for add w/ritalin,lamictal for bpd,wellbrutrin depression, and nerourotin for nerve pain and a few days ago i started grinding my teeth together, looks like i am chewing gum all the time and i also am making grunting sounds.
It seems that every time I stop taking ambien for a few days and I'm feeling side effects. When I wake up my head is killing me, my kidneys are killing me, and I can't stop sudden movement. I have tried to stop several times though my doctors and with therapy but its like nothing works. I try to stick with it but if I have to deal with worst side effects. I can't believe I've been in this mess since '09 and I'm taking too many to even my prescriptions out.
I have a real problem with insomnia I went to the doctor last week and got Sonata for sleep and I asked for clonadine because I knew that I would be out of pills this week and would be having w/d sysptoms. He did not want to give me that he gave me klonapin instead.. I have not told him I have a problem with pills. The sonata is not working for my insomnia so I have made an another appt to see him this week to see if I can get the clonadine.
Have you tried Ambien or Sonata? I take Ambien (have been on it for about 4 years) - some nights it works well and others it's like I've taken a tic tac - but there are nights when nothing short of getting hit over the head with a hammer is going to help me sleep! I used to be on the CR version of the Ambien, until my insurance decided it wasn't going to cover that formula any longer, so now I'm back to the 10mg dose.
Weirdly he's into the classics. Beethoven and Mozart. Things like that. Moonlight sonata gets him real still and he doesn't move. When its over he kicks like crazy till I put it back on. Anything played on a piano or violin seems to sooth him. He also loves when I sing to him. Could be anything.
You cannot assume that everything is anxiety. So it sounds like you had some kind of medical work up. Did you go to the ER that day? What were you told?
Hi while I was in treatment I took ambien and it got me maybe 3 hours at most. I had lot trouble sleeping and if I did sleep it was for very short periods of time. I took ambein for the last 4 months of my treatment. when I finished I took 1/2 pill till it was gone. maybe for a week with no addition but everyone is different. I took my rib at around 3 pm in afternoon but that did not seem to help either.
I am depressed over this as well as postpartum issues and have just been put on Celexa for anxiety and depression as well as Sonata for sleep by a recommended psychiatrist. The Sonata is too short-acthing though. I called the doc on call but he does not want to prescribe anything stronger until tomorrow, if adding melatonin and/or benadryl does not help.
I am currently wearing a holter monitor and have also worn en event monitor recently.
I detoxed off of the fentanyl patch 150mcg 2 weeks ago. I have Chronic Interstitial Cystis and Chronic Vulvodynia and I.B.S., basicly Pelvin pain Syndrrome , etc. Well the pain is excruciating! I already feel like **** from detoxing! I am so exusted, and can only lay in bed with the heating pad for my bladder,but,etc,I walk around and try to do somethings and then feel like Im gonna collaspe. I am sooo sleep deprived....
ve been prescribed sedatives such as Trazidone, Ambian, Rozerm, tamazipam, Zolpidem and Sonata, etc. All helped me for a time period of no longer than 2 months and I was back to square one again. Excedrin PM, Tylinol PM, Unisom, sleep gels; and so on but they just keep adding up. My doctor said not to take them but he wont change my prescription so do I just keep taking more and more over the counter sleep medications or not sleep at all?
My doctor prescribed be Sonata which helps me sleep. This helps you get to sleep without becoming addicting like Ambien. I hope this helps!
