Avatar f tn I am 20 week's and a day and I was wondering does it matter what type if music you play for your baby while it's in the womb, like could I play soft country or Idk bluegrass? I've been told gospel is really good. Any suggestions?
19606750 tn?1480880764 Main motivation to fix is to make it easier for typing, and playing musical instruments (piano/guitar/violin) where I find it hampers progress in terms of agility/precision (I'm right handed, so use left hand for frets). Wondered if anyone could recommend a good way of going about this in the UK (whether NHS or private, where and how) and how long to expect heeling period to be.
Avatar f tn Hi, pulling out your hair is a conscious decision and am asking why you are doing this instead of taking piano lessions?
Avatar f tn and I had issues playing but had no idfea why, I finally quit playing in 9th grade and a few years ago while sitting at a piano I pressed down on the keys and looked at my fingers and a light went off as to my issues with not only fingering but trying to play in the different positions....like 4th....ugh.....so anyway I totally understand this topic. Dr Barth Green is a noted Chiari specialist so I am sure he vetted the Dr he is referring you to.
Avatar m tn Hi guys, When I was roughly 15 or so, I noticed a tingling sensation in my and (I believe my left). It was mis-diagnosed as carpel tunnel at the time (I played piano and violin so it was plausible). Since then, very gradually, the sensation has progressed to other parts of my body, though not all. My face and both my hands now have this persistent constant tingling sensation.
Avatar n tn I was working on the Mendelssohn violin concerto in E minor on violin and jazz piano on the piano after taking classical training since I was four. The last thing that I worked on was Gershwin's concerto in F 3rd movement. I just feel stunned from this constant feeling. Almost like something was stuck to my brain behind my eyebrows. This feeling was especially constant on the right side of my head, behind my eyebrow and to the center when I took geodin. It's still there.
Avatar m tn I've searched the web and here and no really good answer. I'm taking a Sonata about 3 or 4 oclock in the morning. It does cause some jitters next day. Now I've started Sam-e and a Super Beta Complex and the Jitters are unbearable. I take some Xanax and it helps some. I can't take much and still function. The question is ... Is it the Sam-e or the Super B Complex causing the extreme jitters or anxiety?
7642836 tn?1410611040 I'm 33 weeks and for the past three days getting my full eight hours of sleep has been impossible. I still work so going to be and falling asleep isn't a problem because I'm so exhausted, but I dream soo much and then wake up at 3am to pee then again at 6am after that I can't seem to go back to sleep when I still have an hour and a half to get up and start getting ready for work.
1748105 tn?1314473206 my knee surgeon suspected lupus and sent me to a rheumatoid dr for testing and they tested for MS, lymes , lupus which I am always borderline for, but they did find the chiari.I got the dx in Feb '08. My violin teacher would hit me with the bow....I had no idea what the problem was and thought I was doing it right, I was trying neway....lol...same with my teacher , he would get so mad, and I was so confused....
Avatar m tn It all started when one day I played the piano and guitar for several hours. The following morning my wrist hurt and were going numb. I had no swelling. I waited a couple days, then when I thought I was ok I lifted some weights. I realized it wasn't better. School made it impossible for my wrists to recover. I tried playing the piano a week later, but they still hurt. For months I've been trying to let them recover, but they won't.
1096392 tn?1257311240 I remember nothing from this accident. I had a large bruise and scrape on my left elbow, and my shoulder was a little achey for a while, but it was nothing that really bothered me and there was nothing wrong, nothing broken. They also said that I had a slight concussion, so we were thinking that it could possibly be a problem with my brain sending signals to my left hand? If anybody can give me any clue to what might be going on, it would be highly appreciated.
Avatar m tn i have arthritis in my fingers, too---and i am also a piano player. so far, the arthritis has not seemed to bother me particularly when i play the piano---but i had not been playing much for awhile. i had to have carpal tunnel surgery in both wrists ablmost 4 years ago--probably because i have played the piano since i was 11---i'm 48 1/2 now, and i also crochet.
Avatar m tn And now every time I turn my left wrist to the far left (not just side to side but also when in the far left position and then moving up and down) there seems to be a pop/click (more of a pop though). There is absolutely NO PAIN, but it's very annoying as it interrupts the smooth progression when playing piano. Is this an issue that I need to see a doctor for? or will resting eventually heal the wrist? A google search yielded this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?
Avatar n tn He is very good at sport and seems to behave well for other people. We have been to a child psychologist in the past to gain skills to deal with him, which worked for a while, but as he gets older are ineffective. We set him boundaries and reward good behavior, but unfortunatley we, like all humans have a breaking point and sometimes lose our temper due to the constant stress. This behaviour is severely straining our marriage and our family dynamic. Please help with some advice.
222135 tn?1236488221 It is an exquisitely well-written and poignant essay from a man who has had MS for many years. I recommend it for all and especially for those whose family and friends are not supportive. I am going to give it to some people. I often just answer - "I have good days and bad days." The HP I mentioned deals with the constantly varying "norm.
Avatar f tn s like she hates us and tellsus constantly how stupid we are and she hates haven been born in t his family. It just goes on and on and on. If you find some answers let me know, we are in the same boat!
Avatar n tn My son is 16 (17 in Jan). Over the past 3-4 weeks he has suffered from serious memory loss or he's just lying. There's only 3 people in the house: him, his mother and me (dad). I cautioned him last week about flushing the tolilet. He swore he didn't go to the bathroom. It could have only been him.
Avatar m tn ve been having back pain and insomnia since my surgery 4 months and was prescribed Percocet. My surgeon told me to see a PCP for more Rx and I did. I went to a family practice with 3 doctors and 1 FNP. Two weeks ago, the FNP prescribe me indocin, benadryl, and retin-a(other). None of these medications helped with my back pain and thurday 12/23 I saw the PCP again.
4268628 tn?1375041176 Just curious if anyone else in here is a musician. I'm playing in out community band and am struggling and questioning if I should even be playing until after the baby is borne.I am 16 w. Doc said it was ok for as long as I am comfortable. My issue is not breath support, but prego brain in just reading music....like level 3 music, not even level 4 or 5. I'm so frustrated. I love music and normally this music would be minimally challenging.
Avatar f tn I had a rough nite, rough morning so iwalked an hour and still no relief so i found a music channel on the tv and i am currently jamming out to the 90's singing and dancing around my family room cleaning and looking like a total fool and i dont care. but it made me remember who i was, i found out that i used to love music and it gave me the happy adrenalin rush i needed and i feel lots better. So dont just sit there DO SOMETHING that's going to make you happy and MOVE.
649848 tn?1534633700 Though this has been a week of accomplishing things at my mother's house, with not a lot more to do before we put it on the market, I obviously wasn't as frenetic as previously because I've gained one pound. That takes me out of the 5-lb. bracket that I consider to be the range where I've 'met my goal weight.' This means it's time to stop eating salty and sweet stuff! We did have a lot of snack food around this last week, I need to do a better job shopping.
Avatar m tn I referred to those cords descriptively as strings on a violin, as they can be very thin and very tight and very long.
Avatar f tn Love ur Gma story...my DD is a dancer so that is a nice connection and my Gma played piano for her DH's movie theater...it was Silent movies back then...so that is exciting....only thing is they split up and I never met him. On my mom's side her dad played violin and I also took lessons and also took guitar lessons as well, I can play piano by ear....lol...so music has always played a major role in my life....and again with DD being a dancer, u can not dance with out ur music...
Avatar f tn I am also sufferring from the same issue except it is my right side of the body. It started 4 years ago in my rt. thumb. It spread to my wrist and shoulder. It then moved into my knee after a mountain bike accident. I was told to stop typing on the computer and not to exercise for 2 to 3 months to allow everything to rest. However, today I am feeling about 80% better. I have been through x-rays, ultra sounds, blood draws, etc. It has been a long 4 years.
