655875 tn?1295695107 Slim Fast was getting difficult to stay on track. I found myself cheating on the diet. My friend told me about the protien shake that Dr. Oz uses. There are a few recipes on his website. Right now I am using the Ultimate Breakfast Smoothie. It tastes awesome and it actually keeps me full for over 6 hours. I have zero cravings for food and sweets. I've cut back my dinner portion.
1968463 tn?1374757813 Actually, I have tried a LOT of different fasts over the years, and the most comfortable and most effective I've ever done is the "lemonade fast", or "lemonade diet." You can google it and get the recipe...It's amazing, and weight comes off really fast. I have a low blood sugar problem, but did not have problems on this fast.
Avatar f tn No, I don't think it will affect kidney stones, but.. Slim fast has horrible ingredients, and I would not feed it to my dog. From their website, they list Hydrogenated soybean oil, High Fructose Corn syrup, etc. Soybean oil will make you fat, and so will high fructose corn syrup.Suffice to say, stay away from Slim Fast! Eat whole foods instead. At best, these drinks may cause rapid weight loss, but they are not healthy and usually the weight comes back later.
Avatar f tn any tips on cravings.. im not on slim-fast but it is a shakes and soup diet... also any exercise tips for being quite obese... the thought of doing anything like the biggest loser makes me feel sick.. something gentle but effective... any takers?
Avatar f tn Welcome to the community. Try walking at a reasonable pace. Also look into yoga as it's low impact and done at a slow very deliberate pace. Be sure to watch what you eat as well - might also help the e-coli infection.

I agree with kimmit that you need a variety of foods - there's a reason for the food pyramids, etc. We really do need all of that stuff. Protein is important to a healthy diet, but you must have the proper vitamins/enzymes to break it down. Fad diets are rarely good for you, and once you go off them, the chance of regaining the weight is so great; many people end up gaining even more.

Second, according to your weight tracker status on your profile, you are already in a healthy weight range, so why are you trying to lose more weight? It's not healthy to go below a certain weight and your body needs many nutrients, especially as a growing teen.

973741 tn?1342342773 If you look "diet" up in the dictionary, it says diet is what you eat so I've come to the conclusion that trying to stick with a specific eating plan isn't necessarily for me. :-) I've tried a ton of different eating patterns, ranging from Slimfast to Mediterranean - all in the past 13 yrs because I didn't ever have to worry about my weight before that.
Avatar n tn The best way to find a diet that you will stick with is by googling diet plans. Read up on each one and find which one you will like the best. Personally, I couldn't go without some carbohydrates in my diet. Maybe you are stronger than me though. I have seen it work but usually the person breaks and goes back to carbohydrates and gains all the weight back. Some carbohydrates can be good for you.

I eat a yogurt everyday cus i know that helps and i make a pretty good supper what i can anyways i dont have a stove yet. I didnt even bring my fryer over from in laws i could be eating corn dogs and french fries every nite but nope i was good left it over there and it stay over there lol!!
