skelaxin

Avatar f tn s like they are on fire hurting. stiff neck and all. was taking the tram for degenerative disk disease in the neck so i was wondering, is this a symptom of w/d? or is this the pain that i am to endure after being clean? this *****.
Avatar f tn I have had chronic, daily pain in my left scapula for years, it has increased significantly in the past couple of months to the point that it is unbearable at times. I've been taking ultram, neurontin, motrin, and skelaxin for it which has helped a little. I've been using ice & heat, and have been trying to do stretching and strengthening exercises to help. None of these conservitive measures are helping my pain, and I feel that I need to see a specialist.
Avatar f tn Looking for members thoughts on these and the difference. I have been on both after a MVA and I have a very bad neck/back injury. Started w/ Flexeril (liked it, but couldn't take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms) Thanks!
Avatar f tn Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!
Avatar n tn I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help. So finally she gave a prescription of Tramadol 50mg.. it doesn't work. I don't what to do, I can sleep, I can't move my head, it's hard to drive.
Avatar n tn The following is from my surgical notes: I recently had a shoulder surgery (2 months ago), in which I had Impingement Syndrome with limited space for the rotator cuff beneath the anterolateral acromial margin and Labral Detachment. Shoulder Capsule was repaired and two sutures were placed in my shoulder towards the superior apex. I was told that the decompression was successful.
Avatar m tn I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.
Avatar m tn I have had a headache for now 31 days in a row without any real relief. It started out (I think) with a stiff neck- Couldn't touch chin to chest) and the same day I started with a headache. They almost follow a pattern everyday, I wake up with it, it gets better after I'm up for awhile and almost gone into afternoon, but around 4 pm comes back and keeps going for the rest of the night (almost worse when I lay down).
Avatar f tn (vertebral column and structures thereto causing headache), especially since your neck and upper back hurt. See if some particular position of head and neck while lying down helps. Try to remember how the pain started. Or what do you think is the cause of the headache, neck and back pain. A neuro will be able to find out if your neck is causing the problem.
676302 tn?1237863491 In my experience I have found Soma to be helpful as well as Skelaxin. I would have a talk with your doctor and see what he/she suggests. Good luck to you.
450140 tn?1317947304 Even if I did my body would not allow me. Thanks to all that have been leaving notes and prayers. The neck pain is still unbearable! I was put on CYMBALTA about 5 weeks ago, and have been fighting with nauseua with that. Today, my neuro suggested i try SKELAXIN (muscle relaxer) for the spasams I am experiencing. I will start those tomorrow. It says take 3x a day, every 8 hours. And if need be a 4th one can be taken. Does this sound right ........every 8 hours?? Please tell me what you think.
Avatar f tn Is there anything in the meantime I can do to make the pain end so I can sleep at night? Ie seems the more I try to massage the shoulder/neck the more it becomes painful and tender. i can ont afford continues massage therapy either. I don't want to rely on sleeping pills to get me thru each night because they will become immune after awhile.
Avatar f tn Presented to ER with severe headahce (worst in my lifetime) eye pain and vision loss, red hot stiff neck, fever and general lack of energy. Was on prednisone for 3 months and Skelaxin (muscle relaxant). I am much better but still having weird head pains (feels like my brain is sloshing around) neck pain on right side with tenderness right under the ear, and eye pain (both eyes feel sore behind the socket). No longer on any meds but still having symptoms that no one can diagnosis.
Avatar n tn However, recently this has caused migraine-type headaches 10/10 in severity that stem from the muscles in my neck. It is almost like my neck muscles do not want to support my head. Also, when I sleep at night my lower back hurts with pain radiating down my legs. I also notice this with pivot/shift movements such as bending down to unload dishwasher, and upon rising up and pivoting radiation of pain down my leg.
Avatar f tn Presented with severe headache/eye pain and loss of vision and hot/stiff neck. Was also involved in auto accident day before ER presentation. Was given prednisone for 2 1/2 months along with large doses of Skelaxin. MRI was negative for any lesions, cancer, etc.
Avatar f tn Just seeing quite an increase in facial tingling not pain though. And neck burning. What sort of neck exercises Selma? I do work at a computer all day so neck pain is higher during work week. Less when I am up walking more. Just started thinking more about cci. My ns was touted as a Chiari expert but I am finding she doesn't look for anything else. So when my results came in she said Chiari looks good and minor bulging disk in c3/4 but that would not cause facial tingling.
Avatar m tn t know what the source of the pain is; if you have scarring in the muscle you might be able to find exercises through physical therapy that will help keep the jaw muscles relaxed and less painful. Muscle relaxants like flexeril or skelaxin are sometimes helpful. If the pain is from nerves, medications like Lyrica or gabapentin sometimes help. If there is a component of depression, Cymbalta might by helpful.
Avatar n tn I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know. I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".
Avatar n tn t know whether i should try to stretch to improve or if stretching will make it worse, because after doing some neck exercises, severe shoulder pain got added to the frontal neck tightness.
Avatar m tn Started Feb 08 with low back pain, eventually pain moved all around the back and neck. Followed tingling sensation all around hands, fingers, toes, legs and even face. Numbness basically limited to fingers in both hands and left foot toes. Just recently I developed positional vertigo. i also have Sciatic like pain and some muscular weakness.
Avatar m tn I have different issues with my lower (C 5-7) and upper neck (C 0-1). I have been to a neuro doc and he told me that my MRI read fine and the EMG did not show any nerve damage. If this is the case, then why am I having numbness in my left arm/hand in my 4-5 digit and pain in the lower part of my neck and weakness in my left arm? He recommended a procedure that I have already had, which tells me he didn't take the time to review my records.
Avatar m tn My doc just gave me Skelaxin for my back pain and said it might help. I have been trying to cut back taking hydro and I don't want to take anything that is going to make me woosey. I started into therapy last week and it is really making my back hurt. The nurosurgeon I saw said I have from L-1 to S-1 messed up and he does not think surgery would help any. So he just said take the hydro because your not taking that many (only 3 a day 7.
Avatar f tn Hi.....are you doing exercises of the neck....the muscles will get tight as they heal if you do not move them....use heat for 15 mins...do neck exercises then use heat again for 15 mins.... Build up so you are able to do this several times a day... Also talk with your Dr...if you had a fusion if they want you to do typical post op exercises.....
Avatar f tn I have had a chronic neck problem for years. It affects my neck and upper back - feels like the muscles are too weak to do their job - and when it's really flared up it will give me a migraine. I had asked my doctor for a referal to see a rheumatologist to make sure there's nothing 'major' going on in there, but he instead refered me to physical therapy. I had 3 visits and was given some exercises to try at home.
