skelaxin

Avatar m tn patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago. I tKe it as prescribed I have never gone over the maximum dose, I am just concerned about possible withdrawal or anything like that from skelaxin.
Avatar f tn I've had Skelaxin around ever since my back injury. The 1st script was given to me by an orthopedic surgeon. When he wrote it I told him I'm cross-addicted. He said no problem with Skelaxin. My primary care MD renews it. I take it very sparingly. 60 will last me probably 8 months or more. For me it's perfect occasionally, as needed. My back injury causes me to tense up. Skelaxin helps me out with that.
Avatar m tn Well I just got back from seeing my dr about the myleogram I had and they pretty much just said I had from L-1 to S-1 messed up and not much they can do. Take the pills and try the therapy and message for awhile and then let us know how your doing. I had got down to 1 1/2 a day through my weening process but my back was hurting the whole time. I think I am still going to try to keep cutting back and see if I can quit when I can take a few days off work.
Avatar m tn My doc just gave me Skelaxin for my back pain and said it might help. I have been trying to cut back taking hydro and I don't want to take anything that is going to make me woosey. I started into therapy last week and it is really making my back hurt. The nurosurgeon I saw said I have from L-1 to S-1 messed up and he does not think surgery would help any. So he just said take the hydro because your not taking that many (only 3 a day 7.
Avatar f tn Looking for members thoughts on these and the difference. I have been on both after a MVA and I have a very bad neck/back injury. Started w/ Flexeril (liked it, but couldn't take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms) Thanks!
Avatar n tn The following is from my surgical notes: I recently had a shoulder surgery (2 months ago), in which I had Impingement Syndrome with limited space for the rotator cuff beneath the anterolateral acromial margin and Labral Detachment. Shoulder Capsule was repaired and two sutures were placed in my shoulder towards the superior apex. I was told that the decompression was successful.
Avatar f tn I want to get a nice tone back for the summer any tips and good exercises are needed
Avatar f tn I have had chronic, daily pain in my left scapula for years, it has increased significantly in the past couple of months to the point that it is unbearable at times. I've been taking ultram, neurontin, motrin, and skelaxin for it which has helped a little. I've been using ice & heat, and have been trying to do stretching and strengthening exercises to help. None of these conservitive measures are helping my pain, and I feel that I need to see a specialist.
Avatar m tn t taken a soma like I said I got skelaxin which I take rarely only if my back is howling in pain cuz it knocks me out into last Tuesday. I Ben doing tons of stretching and I tolerate a little discomfort. I'd rather have a little discomfort than deal with a soma habit. Not saying if u take soma your a junkie or anything lol I just know myself well enough not to touch it. Prayers for everyone,.
Avatar f tn Someone please tell me where to find some good yoga exercises. I can't seem to fund any good ones. I'm 20 weeks! And would like some input on what other mommies do??
450140 tn?1317947304 Today, my neuro suggested i try SKELAXIN (muscle relaxer) for the spasams I am experiencing. I will start those tomorrow. It says take 3x a day, every 8 hours. And if need be a 4th one can be taken. Does this sound right ........every 8 hours?? Please tell me what you think. I pray that everyone is doing ok. This limboland is really taking its toll on me and my family. Have not worked since Jan. that is putting a strain on us finacially. Not to mention, all the worry about my health.
Avatar m tn t know what the source of the pain is; if you have scarring in the muscle you might be able to find exercises through physical therapy that will help keep the jaw muscles relaxed and less painful. Muscle relaxants like flexeril or skelaxin are sometimes helpful. If the pain is from nerves, medications like Lyrica or gabapentin sometimes help. If there is a component of depression, Cymbalta might by helpful.
Avatar f tn I've suffered chronic back pain for 10+ years. I'm off all opiates now after being on them for more than 5+ years. I'm now taking lots of vitamins and minerals to promote and maintain my general well-being. My only prescription meds now are Amitriptyline (100 mgs @ bed) and Parafon Forte (4x per day). I just got a Spinal Cord Stimulator, which helps my sciatic pain, but my lower back pain is still pretty bad.
402205 tn?1230481005 I think my friend is hooked on benadryl! I have taken 5 mg flexeril for chronic back pain for years and never had any problems with it...I will try to avoid them right now tho because they make me sluggish and I am already fatigued with my cut in dose of hydrocodne..anything can be abused...skelaxin is a fairly safe muscle relaxer.....
Avatar n tn I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know. I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".
Avatar f tn I get winded at the most unexpected time when Im talking or eating or sometimes sitting in a chair I lose my voice and start coughing I cant sing anymore My arms feel weak and heavy from the shoulder down and I thought I was fine till last summer I started having weird spells they thought tia and seizures but pretty much ruled it out so I have been on synthroid and vit d for a year now I have diagnosis of hypothyroid and mild diabetes and that was before the spell s started well tia and seizu
Avatar f tn can anyone suggest some simple daily exercises without a workout ball that I could do to help relieve some of these aches and pains?!
Avatar f tn As the result of a back injury in February, I began taking Soma and 10 mgs of hydrocodone at night to help me sleep. I took no pain killers during the day, just Skelaxin. I stopped taking Skelaxin several weeks ago and am now in the process of discontinuing the Hydrocodone. I took the last Soma and 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet several nights ago. This is my second round with trying to get off this med. The problem is the insomnia or sleeplessness that occurs in the middle of the night.
Avatar m tn I have always been llike this, just in this case it is not helping me. I am trying the best I can to step back and take it easy but then the pain kicks in and down the crap shoot I go. He also thinks that it will help restore my balance, then ween off of it. I hate hate hate drugs. Especially after the research I did early on with Cymbalta...! ugh. I was also given Skelaxin, but the problem with that is I take it for pain today, then what about tomorow, then next day? when does it stop?
Avatar f tn Maybe try walking weights, like 3-5lb ones. My arms felt like jello after both babies because your pulling your legs back. Definately try yoga stretches for your pelvic area too.
Avatar n tn That's a pretty broad post. Can you afford a personal trainer at a gym? That way you can tell them what you want and they can get you started. You'll only get "huge" legs if you do tons of leg resistance exercises (and if you have the genetic ability to get them without taking steroids, which is unlikely unless you have large legs to begin with).
Avatar f tn oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.
Avatar m tn Ill shear this link to all my friends, i know some one out there will enjoy this exercises.
Avatar m tn If the dr said to do those exercises it would be to help you loosen that part of your back up. When the dr gives exercises like that it could very well be to help you in the future to avoid more problems. If you are doing that without his knowledge, yes you could cause more problems, even permanent problems.
Avatar m tn I had surgery 11 years ago, on L5-4, herniated disks!! Anyway, in November 2012, I started getting the numbness and pain, and my back would just LOCK up, so after 2 MR's and 2 CT scans, my neurosurgeon want a to operate and part of that is a fusion. Findings on last CT Scan: the vertebral body heights are maintained. 0.7 c. L-5 -S-1 degenerative anterolisthesis as well as 0.4 cm L-2 - L-3 retrolisthesis is noted. There is moderate L-5 - S-1 and severe L-4 -5 disk degeneration.
Avatar m tn About 6 weeks ago I went to bed and woke up with a sharp pain on the left side of my lower back, almost on top of the buttock. I had been under a lot of stress because of school, work, and other issues. I waited a couple of weeks and went to the doctor. He ordered a couple of MRIs.
