skelaxin

Avatar f tn PS I don't see anything wrong with taking a muscle relaxant at night with your pain pill.Skelaxin is a muscle relaxant. Perhaps it will work better now that all the opiates are out of your system. In Canada we are able to buy some muscle relaxants otc.
Avatar f tn I feel like I need a quick fix short term till the pristiq kick in. Would I benefit from diazapam or some form of muscle relaxant??
1745492 tn?1320198340 Ok I see how the bowel issues can be related to Asperger's. But I've been on a lot of medications over the past 3 years that were SSRI's and 1 atypical antipsychotic. But now I'm not on either types of those medications. I'm on Lamictal, Topamax, and Skelaxin (a muscle relaxant). None of medications made the twitching worse or better. It's just been getting worse by itself. Even on a muslce relaxant, it's still happening.
Avatar m tn Another muscle spasm/relaxant that is non-addictive is Baclofen. Soma CAN be abused.....I abused it and always missed it when I couldn't get my hands on any. If you are in recovery.....my counsel would be to stay FAR away from Soma.
Avatar f tn Presented to ER with severe headahce (worst in my lifetime) eye pain and vision loss, red hot stiff neck, fever and general lack of energy. Was on prednisone for 3 months and Skelaxin (muscle relaxant). I am much better but still having weird head pains (feels like my brain is sloshing around) neck pain on right side with tenderness right under the ear, and eye pain (both eyes feel sore behind the socket). No longer on any meds but still having symptoms that no one can diagnosis.
Avatar m tn Also now i have more info about you, thank you, because what you are deiscribing could be named cervical syndrome, starting in the neck muscles.. Did you tried any medication muscle relaxant-anxiolytic type? (a swiss made meds Deanxit is a good combinated drug for this need) also a type of physiotherapy compressive type is practiced on this trigger point for 1 hour daily and is capable of removing this cervical syndrome tension type headache.
Avatar m tn I am not familiar with a patch or cream that contains a muscle relaxer. So I have done a search for a Muscle Relaxant Patch or Cream and turned up nothing. Usually I can find it on line if it exists. This is not to say there isn't one. So many medications are coming out in the transdermal application that it would not surprise me if there is now a muscle relaxant the is delivered through the skin.
402205 tn?1230481005 I will try to avoid them right now tho because they make me sluggish and I am already fatigued with my cut in dose of hydrocodne..anything can be abused...skelaxin is a fairly safe muscle relaxer.....
585414 tn?1288941302 Chlorzoxazone is a centrally acting muscle relaxant used to treat muscle spasm and the resulting pain or discomfort. Carisoprodol is a muscle relaxer that works by blocking pain sensations. You should not take these drugs without consulting your Physician and without a prescription, i gave the functions of these drugs for your information only. Take care!
Avatar m tn Skelaxin I got prescribed when I got in a car accident for a muscle relaxer, It didnt really do much of anything but make me feel like gumby, drunk and out of it. Its not for chronic or severe pain BUT it is for MUSCLE pain, like muscle spasms. From being a former EMT (Paramedic) I know it works in the brain to help with the relaxation of muscle pain, its also used for physical therapy with people with back problems.
Avatar m tn I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.
Avatar f tn t take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms) Thanks!
Avatar f tn oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.
Avatar m tn The muscle relaxer the dr gave me is Skelaxin. Anybody else ever try this. I read on drug ******* the reviews and some people said it really helped without making them dizzy like most of them do. Man I sure hope it helps so I can keep weening off the hydros.
Avatar n tn Hello Shirio and welcome to the Pain Forum: First let me tell you that I'm sorry for the discomfort. The meds you have are not meds that can help you type of pain. You need a stronger Muscle Relaxer like Flexeril or Soma. These will work much better than Skelaxin which in my opinion is the "Baby" of the Muscle relaxer meds. It is wise to stay on an anit-inflammatory like Motrin but you might want to try 800mg Ibuphropen (sp) Also.
Avatar f tn That said, baclofen is a special kind of muscle relaxant that is generally prescribed for spasticity. Unless you suffer from a palsy-type disease, or have been diagnosed with a condition like tortion dystonia, baclofen may not be the best muscle relaxant for you. Ask your doctor the reasons she is weaning you from baclofen, and for a substitute muscle relaxant.
Avatar n tn It is a Benzodiazepine, which is a muscle relaxant not a pain killer. A muscle relaxant for the treatment of muscle spasm associated with acute painful musculoskeletal conditions. (www.cbc.ca/news) The I also gleaned a lot of information from drugs.com. Hope I've helped.
Avatar n tn I've been to one neurologist and he basically just said I'm "stressed" and sent me home. The truth is I'm not very stressed, or depressed, or anything like that. I'm just miserable from feeling this way all the time. I get vibrations (literally, like a massager) inside my face, head, neck, and sometimes (but more rarely) shoulders.
Avatar m tn I definetly recommend adding a muscle relaxer if you have muscle pain. I have severe muscle spasms and I am really hurting without a muscle relaxer. Flexeril is also a good one, but that one will make you very sleepy at first. I eventually got used to it to the point that it didn't make me sleepy, but it took a while of taking halves. I tend to adjust to medication really quickly, though.
Avatar f tn hi, im just wondering what is a good exercise to help strengthen my left chest muscle. im doing nothing with it atm. should i just use a rwesistance strap? and what should i take.. im taking magnesium, multi vitamin, anti inflammitries, arnica and a stress relaxant...
1460652 tn?1340248730 has anyone ever had pvcs/pacs while on the muscle relaxant flexeril? for the last couple of months my constant pvcs have been actually somewhat manageable, or at least tolerable. then i was involved in a car accident and was prescribed flexeril 7 days ago. the palps started 30 mins after the first pill. i just thought it was stress from the accident and "oh great, the skips are back"...until they became debilitating, and my bp dropped to 90/50, where as it is usually 115/75.
462621 tn?1206722120 I just had my dog euthanized and it was the worst experience of my life! Before she was euthanized she was given a muscle relaxant. I felt so bad for her, she couldn't move and her tongue kept falling on the floor. I have searched the internet to see if muscle relaxants were used prior to euthanasia but there wasn't much information. She was also blinking which leads me to believe she was concious.
Avatar f tn I have not had an MRI yet. I had one appt with a neuro who suggested I rest it and take muscle relaxants and come back in a month if it isn't better (which it won't be, I am 99%percent sure this is not a pulled muscle) When I go back, I will insist on an MRI, I guess that can tell the doctor a lot of things. Would stretching be against the "rest it as much as you can" program?
