1910757 tn?1348683319 As I said, I cannot really advise you on which medication is right for you, only you can decide if you want to continue with Sertraline. But, read the posts about withdrawal from Effexor first. I am on Effexor and it suits me, but then I am on it long term. Keep in touch and let us know how you get on. Remember people here really care about each other, and we like people to keep in touch and tell us how they are doing.
Avatar m tn It seems the side effects of that are very similar to withdrawal symptoms? Like i said i was getting symptoms before i started the Sertraline. In hindsight though it does seem to have gotten worse. Just let me add, when i went to my doctor it was more for my physical symptoms than mental ones. I have always suffered from Insomnia, probably due to my long term drug use, and have learned to cope with it.
Avatar m tn I have always heard that Paxil was a drug that no one should be on so I talked to my doctor about switching. He decided that Sertraline may work for me. He had me stop Paxil for two days and then begin taking Setraline 25 mg for two days and then upping it to 50 mg. I began feeling terrible. Increased heart rate, drowsiness, pressure in the front of my head, occasional dizziness and seeing visual flashes of light (just a quick flicker) at certain times of the day.
Avatar m tn I stopped the Lexapro and started on 25mg Sertraline for 4 days then up to 50mg. The first week and a half were incredibly difficult. Every side effect imaginable I was having, and I also was panicking and super anxious. At the two week point (which was 4 days ago I started to feel myself again). The next day I woke up kind of foggy and was like that the majority of the day but lightened up towards the end of the day.
Avatar f tn hiya, i have just been changed from one anti depressant to another called sertraline, i have been taking it for just over a week, i have been getting terrible headaches, which feels like my head is going to blow, my skin is uncontrollably itchy to the p-oint of scratching until i bleed, i am having terrible pounding in my chest, with palpitations, not sleeping at all, feeling sick a lot, dizziness, tightness in the chest to the point of it feels like i am being choked and can not breath properly
Avatar f tn My sertraline tablets recently stopped working so well and the GP switched me straight on to fluoxetine. It was a complete nightmare, withdrawal from sertraline plus the side effects from fluoxetine took me to the most terrifying place. I then stopped all ssris and have not had any for 17 days. The first week was awful but then I started to improve, I seemed to get my energy back and I could go out and do things, this was short lived.
Avatar f tn I have had a severe background of anxiety but now cant take medication.. im feeling a little funky stomach feels kinda mixed headachr dizziness shaky chills. But i just wemt to thr bathroom and when i wiped i had slight very little little little of light pink on the paper i wiped again and ot was the samr and the same thing happened yesterday should i be concerned ??
Avatar f tn I am coming down gradually off my anti-depressants, i was on 100mg of sertraline and im now on 50mg and trying to come off them altogether. So far im coping ok, i thought that coming down would unblock my emotions and allow me to feel my emotions instead of them being numbed, but so far i only feel a bit more emotional and still find it hard to cry. I would love to just have a good crying spell to get all the heavy sadness i feel out!
Avatar m tn m currently going through Zoloft withdrawals and have many of the typical Zoloft withdrawal symptoms. I was just wondering if taking a Vicodin will interfere with the recovery of my Zoloft withdrawal? Could I have done any permanent brain damage from taking a Vicodin since my brain is in recovery mode? This is the first Vicodin I have taken since I stopped taking the Zoloft.
Avatar f tn I might be pregnant and my psychiatrist told me not to worry about the embryo. He told me that even while I'm taking 15 mg of Aripiprazole and 50 mg of Sertraline daily, there is no danger. I'm really worried. if I'm pregnant, would these doses harm my embryo being taken daily?
Avatar f tn This is my first time posting on any of these forums. I have read others' experiences of coming off SSRIs and wanted to get opinions on my situation. I'm 19 and started taking Zoloft (Sertraline 50mg) in June last year after a very difficult year of anxiety. I didn't want medication to be a long-term thing for me, so I focused a lot on CBT and only took meds for six months or so. I am now completely off the Zoloft and haven't taken any for almost two weeks.
1030383 tn?1338460785 I'm withdrawing from Zyprexa, Abilify, Ativan and sertraline. It's been three weeks and I've had terrible nausea, stomach pain, fatigue, and generally not feeling good. How long will this last? And, any ideas on how to deal with mania since I can't just "knock myself out" like usual? I need to get enough sleep to stay out of the hospital!
Avatar f tn Hey Y’all, wondering how long it takes to feel normal(functional)after quitting sertraline. Quick story, I started about 3 years ago on sertraline, on and off. Prescribed for depression, social anxiety, I developed this for no apparent reason. Couldn’t pin point why I was feeling this way. Overtime it helped make me functional as a person with work, relationships, grinding everyday to be the best. It had side effects. Mostly weight gain, some sexual dysfunction. Trouble ejaculating.
Avatar m tn Hi I would like to know if after three years of taking low doses of sertraline 25 mg and 2.5 mg of Zyprexa the nausea and dizziness I feel can be due to the discontinuation of the meds. I was prescribed due to a depresion an chronic anxiety conduct. I also experience a bbit of tingling in my hands and feet that goes on and off switching around.
Avatar m tn Okay, now I think I know what you are taking, sertraline, which in the states is Zoloft. Plus your Xanax equivalent. These are medications that are often prescribed for OCD, anxiety, depression. The sertraline can have side effects. What are you feeling like? I don't want to list side affects because I don't want you to start looking for particular one. :) How much Sertraline are you taking and how much alprazolam do you take during the day?
Avatar f tn i was on 150mg sertraline and 80mg propanolol slow release have stopped taking both two weeks ago how long does it take for side effects of this take to stop
Avatar m tn Can anyone tell me how long the withdrawal lasts. I was on 16mg Per day and slowly cut down to 0.4?
Avatar m tn hi all been on 50 mg sertraline tablets for 3 weeks now for anxiety. they dont seem to be doing anything to me except side effects 1st week was worst my anxiety was worse had panic attacks, constant tiredness jittery sweating calmed down bit now i just have constantly shaky hands all time no matter what i do, doctor said thats just me im not sure what he means. anyone else get this? also i dont want him to up my dose as the side effects but not noticing any change does it take longer? thanks.
Avatar f tn So I'm on 50mg sertraline day 4 and on my last night of taking 15mg mirtazapine tonight after being on it a week and one day and feel it wasn't doing anything for me only getting me to sleep at night and feel rubbish the next day it wasn't lifting my mood just hope that these new sertraline will do the job, my main question is why am I twitching all the time?? Is it the mirtazipine or sertraline?
Avatar f tn Hello, The most common side effects of sertraline are sleepiness, nervousness, insomnia, dizziness, nausea and upset stomach. So your giddiness may be a side effect of the drug. Consult your doctor for changing the antidepressant or timing the antidepressant so that it does not cause giddiness like you may take the drug 2 hours after meals or get a PPI inhibitor like Omeprazole added to your prescription drugs.
Avatar f tn I have been on 200mg of sertraline for a long time and after trying other drugs I know this is the best for me. I have recently founf out im pregnant so asked my doctor for advice. I was told the risks are minimal and recommended I stay on it. Is it true the only risk is the baby might be born with a sertraline addiction?
Avatar n tn Does the lack of Adderall somehow affect the chemical balance, or does it make the affects of Sertraline less effective? I read that Sertraline amplifies the effects of Adderall, but I'm wondering if the negative inverse is true - does lack of Adderall impede Sertraline in any way? 2. I've been on Zoloft 15mg for about 3-4 months or so. Does Zoloft lose its effectiveness in that time period, or rather, could it?
Avatar f tn Ive been switched from Paroxetine to Zoloft as am looking to try for a baby and this is supposed to be 'safer'. My doctor has changed me over gradually. I took Paroxetine 20mg for 2 weeks plus Sertraline/Zoloft 50mg, then went to Paroxetine 10mg and Sertraline/Zoloft 50mg and 5 days ago I've stopped Paroxetine altogether and am now just on Zoloft 50mg...I've went to the doctors yesterday because I feel terrible terrible - headaches, feeling incredibly depressed and crazy!
4512920 tn?1355711819 More,my father got depression and used Sertraline to help,In February 2013, because of the long term dizziness and headache, the physician confirmed as “insufficient blood supply”.
