I am currently 16 weeks pregnant. While there have not been any major studies done as to the affects of sertraline and pregnancy, it is one of the more commonly prescribed antidepressant meds by ob doctors because there has not been a defiante link made to issues with the fetus.
There are a few risks with every med while pregnant however your doctor felt the benefits over ruled. Sertraline is probably the safest antidepressant to take while pregnant. Ive talked to people who took it while pregnant and have had healthy strong babies. One lady i spoke to even had 3 beautiful baby girls while taking 100mg during all 3 pregnancies. Try not to worry to much. Everything will be fine.
So I was diagnosed with depression Tuesday. I was prescribed 25mg Zoloft. I am really hesitant to take these pills but I want to get this under control before the baby comes. I also have to see a therapist once a week. I have never experienced depression before and it is scary to say the least. I don't want things to get worse. Has anyone been diagnosed with depression while pregnant? What medication, if any were you given?
If you were taking xanax or clonophin for anxiety do not take them while pregnant other than that you should be fine.
I might be pregnant and my psychiatrist told me not to worry about the embryo. He told me that even while I'm taking 15 mg of Aripiprazole and 50 mg of Sertraline daily, there is no danger. I'm really worried. if I'm pregnant,would these doses harm my embryo being taken daily?
The sertraline lol now I take celexa and its not really making me feel too different from the sertraline but, im always all over my bf now ahaha and as for the anxiety the sertraline basically killed that monster lol
But I had asked the pharmacist how safe is it really to be taking while pregnant bc my Dr had prescribed me Zofran and then I started seeing all the stuff ab it causing birth defects. All the pharmacist said was that the benefits to me from the zoloft outweigh the risks for the baby. What the hell is that even supposed to mean?
I am sure that it is the Sertraline because I normally take it before bed and have woke up several mornings with the leftover pain from the migraine I had while sleeping ( before Sertraline I have never had a migraine during the night ). The other evening I missed taking it and took it first thing in the morning by lunch time I had a migraine. Is this something that my system will get used to eventually or can I expect the migraines to continue indefinitely?
There is a mechanism known to us that explains why caution should be exercised while using a combination of Sertraline and Propranolol. Sertraline and other Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) inhibit a certain enzyme which usually metabolizes Propranolol. Due to this inhibition, Propranolol action may be enhanced. But it will not be appropriate to look at this isolated piece of information and ignore other evidences.

While it can be related to heart disease, I assume since you've spoken to your doctor, you've been examined and this is ruled out? If not, please take that step. An EKG, electrocardiogram or wearing a holter monitor would hopefully answer that question if your doctor feels it is appropriate to take that action.

Hi everyone. About 2 weeks ago my medication of Levothyroxine and Sertraline was increased to Levothyroxine 100 micro grams and Sertraline 50mg. About a week after starting these I got a positive pregnancy test (I took about 3 tests just to make sure lol). I have a midwife appointment tomorrow but my symptoms have been bare to none (Only cramping, tiredness and on/off headaches). I was wondering if any of these medications can effect a pregnancy test?
Hi, does anyone know i you can take Amitriptyline and Sertraline at the same time. I have been taking Amitriptyline for a while for depression and pain but 6 weeks ago I suffered a stroke and my depression is worse so was given Sertraline along with the other.
I have been on 200mg of sertraline for a long time and after trying other drugs I know this is the best for me. I have recently founf out im pregnant so asked my doctor for advice. I was told the risks are minimal and recommended I stay on it. Is it true the only risk is the baby might be born with a sertraline addiction?
Hi moms, anyone has ever had sertraline prescribed for depression while pregnant? I'm 30 weeks pregnant and just picked up my prescription but I'm very concerned to take it because I just read all the risks I'm exposing my baby to :( I will appreciate if anyone shares their experience with it, my Dr said it's ok for me to take it but I'm not sure what I want to do anymore, yes I'm depressed but I don't know if it's worth the risk. Please help me, thanks.

hi all been on 50 mg sertraline tablets for 3 weeks now for anxiety. they dont seem to be doing anything to me except side effects 1st week was worst my anxiety was worse had panic attacks, constant tiredness jittery sweating calmed down bit now i just have constantly shaky hands all time no matter what i do,
doctor said thats just me im not sure what he means.
anyone else get this?
also i dont want him to up my dose as the side effects but not noticing any change does it take longer?

Are these two drugs compatable levothyroxine and sertraline hcl? Does your thyroid control your blood sugar?
Does the lack of Adderall somehow affect the chemical balance, or does it make the affects of Sertraline less effective? I read that Sertraline amplifies the effects of Adderall, but I'm wondering if the negative inverse is true - does lack of Adderall impede Sertraline in any way?
2. I've been on Zoloft 15mg for about 3-4 months or so. Does Zoloft lose its effectiveness in that time period, or rather, could it?
In December, I was given a a very low dose script for Sertraline/Zolft. I take 25mg in the am and 25mg in the pm. I love this drug, I don't remember the last time I felt so light and bubbly and happy! But I've been on it for 4 months now and still feel almost giddy, especially in my relationship with my husband.
