Avatar f tn So I looked at the inserts the pharmacy put in with the medications and the insert says that Zoloft has an effect on unborn children. So now I find myself getting anxious over taking the pills as much as not taking them. Any information you have about zoloft and pregnancy would be extremely helpfull... I'll be calling my OB later when he gets in about the nosebleed because that made my partner nervous too, so I'll ask him then about it also I guess. But he's not in yet and I'm rather anxious.
Avatar n tn I noticed that on the medical pamplet it listed thin skin as a side effect for CHILDREN. I did some research on dermatology web forums and it said that thin skin was "always temporary". Well, my skin did much improve after going off the Zoloft, but the skin around my eyes, esp. eyelids is still quite delicate and hang a bit, and if I tug at the skin on my arms and hands it is still pretty crepe-y. My hands still look older than they should.
480448 tn?1426952138 ONE important thing to remember that I learned, and have never forgotten is that these two effects CANNOT exist without anxiety.....but that anxiety can exist without these sensations. Derealization is basically a change, an alteration in the PERCEPTION or experience of the external world....in other words...everything LOOKS very strange, very "unreal" (movie like, in my experiences). Depersonalization is a subjective experience of unreality of one's self. So the difference is...
Avatar n tn I have had an EKG to monitor heart activity and it read normal. Should these side-effects be a cause for concern besides from being discomforting? Thanks.
Avatar n tn I am worried now about some possible side effects. He has started having tics (eye crossing, head movements up and down, flipping his lip with his finger, shoulder shrugging etc.) He has done motor stereotypy since he was 4mnths. old and I know when he is stimming, these look more like tics and he can't seem to control them. He has also developed some occasionl aggressive impulsions toward others when he gets mad and frusterated and some sleep difficulties.
Avatar f tn When compared with tricyclic anti-depressants (medication frequently prescribed for this condition) such as imipramine, amitriptyline, doxepin, desipramine, and nortriptyline, St. John's wort is equally effective, and has fewer side effects. This also appears to be true for another well known class of antidepressants called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) including fluoxetine and sertraline.
Avatar m tn Could his manic behavior, never even hinted at previously, be a side-effect of the Levothyroxine in combination with the other factors mentioned above? I should also mention that, for about a year and up until a year ago, he had been on 200mg of Zoloft, which, from what I understand, can push someone predisposed to bipolar into a manic episode, but he never exhibited any symptoms of mania during that time. He's never had a suicidal low either. I hope I've explained this clearly.
Avatar n tn Though more studies are needed, it is wise for anyone with a history of precancerous or cancerous skin lesions -- such as squamous cell, basal cell skin cancer, or melanoma -- to refrain from taking this herb. Side Effects Side effects are rare but may include skin allergy and burning sensations (with external use), headache, stomach upset, nausea, dizziness, and extreme drowsiness. These side effects tend to occur with high doses of gotu kola.
Avatar m tn I really don't know if meds will change his personality but they could leave unwanted side-effects. This is more just a general gripe, but is seems to me the med industry likes to push meds for just about anything. As far as meds and children go, it's a contraversial debate. Some people believe that it will cause perminant changes because children's brains are still forming. Whether they are right, I don't know. I'm just suspcious in general about certain meds.

230948 tn?1235847929 I haven't had the stregnth to post as I am in a bad flare-up now after tapering off of Lyrica. I was on it for about 6 weeks and experienced terrible side effects - trouble speaking and driving and I was a very loopy. The tapering off for a week was awful. 1835379 tn?1318819861 The only side effect I had was a dry mouth, which went away by week three. Second month he bumped me to 50mg. I had no side effects that I was aware of. I think it made me a little sleepy, which is probably why they have you take it at night. I knew we were inching me up very slowly, but I'd only been on AD's once before and had a very, very bad experience. I was in no hurry to experience it again. To say I had a phobia about side effects is putting it mildly.
1387710 tn?1286271595 There are several reasons for the symptoms that you describe but I have them also and my experience is that the pain meds cause more yucky side effects than they help me. The best medicine so far has been Neurontin or generic gammapentin. It treats neuropathic pain and is used by lots of people for depression and other things too. If you haven't tried it, ask your doctor if you could have a small dose to try and see if your symptoms improve.
Avatar f tn Some medications I had gave me bad side effects - especially Prozac. Hope you find the right one for you. As I am old, the weight gain does not bother me too much, but I sure am chubby!!
225237 tn?1333142599 Also, remember, there are times that the side effects (first few days or weeks) where you may even feel more jittery and more anxious. You need to give it a good month to see if it is working for you. However, if the side effects are totally unbearable then talk to your doctor about taking a different medication. I would also call the doctor to see if he can prescribe Klonopin...that will help also with the anxious feeling, especially until the paxil kicks in.
574042 tn?1217660018 HI, I am sorry you are still having problems with side effects of the drug. You said you have never been the same since your month of taking the drug. Can you explain what issues you are talking about or dealing with? I did a quick search and did not find anything regarding long term effects upon cessation of the drug. I will search more and get back to you at a later time. Again I am sorry. If you could share your symptoms it would aid my search.
Avatar n tn Other than expert articles the only comments I made within this thread are as follows, and I fail to see how you define these as "raving" or with a "twisted mission" or is it the articles written by experts that you are referring to?? : "The forum MD is correct, take his advice. There are not enough adequate studies on humans during pregnancy to quantify advocation of Effexor during pregnancy.
Avatar m tn Neuroleptics can have significant side effects, which include concentration problems, cognitive blunting, and rarely, tardive dyskinesia(a movement disorder that consists of lip, mouth, and tongue movements). Such side effects as stiffness, rigidity, tremor, sedation, and depression are common with haloperidol, but are less so with pimozide. Alpha-adrenergic receptor agonists, including clonidine(Catapres) and guanfacine (Tenex).
4173517 tn?1350602301 hi , from my experiences with anti depressants they seem to take 4-6 weeks to start working and i had a few side effects , but for some people from what i've heard they can send them manic , and i'm actually in the same boat at the moment with zoloft 100mg i been on for close to 2 months now along with seroquel xr 600mg but my psychiatrist has cut the zoloft down to 50 mg because of the mania i've been experiencing the last week or so , just keep in mind though that meds effect everyone di
Avatar f tn Any weight gain or other bad side effects? I would be very interested in knowing how this works out for you as time goes on. If you care to reach me directly, you can use raffertycole at yahoo.com. Thanks and I'm glad for you that something is working!
Avatar m tn They list common side effects, less common side effect and rare side effects. If you haven't been to check out the website www.drugs.com, I highly recommend you go there and check it out. I noticed quite a few of the symptoms you are experiencing are side effects of Citalopram. One of the rare side effects of Citalopram is difficulty with concentrating, some less common side effects are blurred vision, confusion, loss of memory and headaches.
1174869 tn?1441315268 Does anyone have any advice about how I will feel in myself, or the side effects that I may have experience on Epilim Chrono extended release? - I assume this will be the medication of choice following the results of my EEG and MRI which I should receive in the coming weeks, as well as my history of seizures. Thank you ever so much for your help in advance, this site has proved to be an absolute blessing.
2198057 tn?1338534805 Allow yourself to have your OWN unique experience. As for side effects, there are some more common ones, but most side effects will start to improve within a week or two (if you even have any). More common side effects are an increase in anxiety (feeling "jittery"), sleep disturbances (less or more), GI upset, headaches. Obviously, you are going to be more scared about side effects based on your experience with Celexa.

Suggested Treatments: Treatments with Some Research Support Some psychotherapies do not focus on the traumatic event, but do help you process your reactions to the trauma and manage symptoms related to PTSD.
Avatar m tn I stopped taking it, now, 4 months later, I still feel little pain. SSRI causes sexual side effects in almost 100% of the cases, however testicular pain is not listed in the official patient brochures. How are you doing now? Do you still take Prozac?
Avatar f tn Your anxiety and depression is running quite high at the moment, and i really do feel you should bring this up with your neurologist, sometimes the multiple medications can cause negative side effects and psychological issues are a common enough occurrence in anyone dx with a chronic medical condition. Please speak to your neurologist ASAP because i do think this is something he or she should be able to help you with!
