Avatar m tn Hello Ireland from UK. I took 150mg Sertraline once daily. I am on a different drug, but still take 150mg in one go. No problem with that. Your new doctor is right.
Avatar f tn Are the symptoms I am experiencing a side effect of sertraline? I am on day 16 of taking 50mg sertraline after switching from cymbalta to try and find a saferdrug to try for pregnancy. Week one I was emotional but that settled down and week two was manageable and i felt generally calmer. However by day 14 anxiety smptoms worsened and i am feeling flushed in the face and tingly in arms and waking early feeling unable to cope with nerves and sweating. Should I stick it out?
Avatar f tn I was recently put on tramadol 300mg in divided doses, 2 days ago. I took the first dose 2 days ago(100mg) and yesterday I took 2 doses, 1 am and second in the PM. I felt extremely agitated, nervous, crying over nothing, a little sweaty but not bad. I don't know if seratonin syndrome can come on that quickly or if I was experiencing increased anxiety because I know about the syndrome.
2052200 tn?1332429084 Antidepressants can cause a group of dangerous symptoms known as serotonin syndrome. Taking sertraline with other medications that affect serotonin can increase your risk of serotonin syndrome. These medications include other antidepressants, triptans (migraine medications), and several other medications (see Drug Interactions With Sertraline for more information).
Avatar n tn Since then i have felt depressed, week at times, headaches sometimes,no appetite, light headed ,detached ,anxiety at times,etc..Does this sound like discontiuation syndrome? Thank you for fielding my question.
Avatar f tn Coadministration of oxycodone with serotonin reuptake inhibitors has been associated with development of the serotonin syndrome. The mechanism of interaction is unknown. Unlike other analgesics such as phenylpiperidine opioids (e.g., meperidine) and tramadol, oxycodone is not known to possess serotonergic activity and has not previously been associated with the serotonin syndrome.
Avatar n tn hi guys i need to ask you about sertraline ,anxiety drug, my doctor prescribed me at the begining with one 25 mg tablet a day, and after 2 weeks two tablets of 25 mg (50mg ), and after that he advised me to start taking 4 tablets bring it up to 100 mg sertraline a day. i stoped this drug for 2 months and yesterday i decided to take it but the last prescription the pharmacy made each tablet 100 mg.
Avatar m tn I would try replacing the Aripiprazole (Abilify) and the Sertraline (Zoloft) by taking 25mg of 5-HTP 3x Daily for 1 week as anymore than this could induce Serotonin Syndrome. I would then recommend swapping the tablets out for a 5-HTP transdermal patch which will release a more even dose of 5-HTP throughout the day especially if you have BPD as otherwise the oral form could cause mania.
Avatar m tn Chronic fatigue syndrome suggests, this illness is accompanied by six months or more of unexplained fatigue accompanied by following symptoms like cognitive dysfunction, including impaired memory or concentration, postexertional malaise lasting more than 24 hours (exhaustion and increased symptoms) following physical or mental exercise, unrefreshing sleep, joint pain (without redness or swelling), persistent muscle pain, headaches of a new type or severity, tender cervical or axillary lymph node
230948 tn?1235844329 Hi All, spoke to my support team who are based around the care i get for my fibro on why the drugs are just not touching my pain, i'm on fentanal patches 100 (opiod) lyrica clonazapam sertraline and now requip when i talked more about my rigdid muscles and the pain and loss of mobilty they suggested i had myofascial pain syndrome on top of the fibro and that might be blocking the way the drugs are working, they say this can be treated with a specialist physio and triggar point injections.
Avatar m tn Are these two drugs compatable levothyroxine and sertraline hcl? Does your thyroid control your blood sugar?
Avatar f tn Ive been suffering with a bad illness recently which ive been thinking i had hiv or something i started on 50 mg sertraline a week ago and i can feel my lymph nodes seem to have decreased slighty in size ! Can this happen ? Do you think the meds have done this ?
Avatar m tn I'm a 30yr old male. I was on Sertraline approx 10 years ago for depression and it seemed to work until a crash. For one reason or another over the years, my treatment has changed several times. It is 2011 and i have found my way back to sertraline. I am currently taking 10mg of buspirone 2x day and 15mg of mirtazapine for major depression and generalized anxiety. I have been feeling constantly tired, apathetic and despondent.
Avatar m tn There have been postmarketing reports of serotonin syndrome when linezolid was given with or soon after the discontinuation of serotonergic drugs, particularly selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors such as paroxetine and sertraline.[9][110][111][112] It may also enhance the blood pressure-increasing effects of sympathomimetic drugs such as pseudoephedrine or phenylpropanolamine.
Avatar f tn The reason I wound up on this combo was that when weaning the mirtazapine got depressive symptoms coming back and those were controlled by adding in a bit of sertraline. But now I’m thinking maybe I have mild / early serotonin syndrome just in the irritability / agitation phase.

Avatar m tn I have had migraines for the past 20 years, normally I experience 3 or 4 migraines a year but since I have been taking Sertraline I have had many more than usual. I am sure that it is the Sertraline because I normally take it before bed and have woke up several mornings with the leftover pain from the migraine I had while sleeping ( before Sertraline I have never had a migraine during the night ).
Avatar m tn I am suffering from severe anxiety (suspected hyperadrenergic postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome - hyper pots) which causes my heart rate to increase by 30-50 beats per minute upon standing along with blood pressure increase, and so it's hard for even to even stand because of heart palpitations, fatigue, dizziness etc, and so i lay in my bed for 22-23 hours daily for 8 months, my muscles are GONE, i am only existing.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone, three months ago I started with pgad, which is a condition that you feel unwanted sexual arousal, it is horrible, I couldn't even sleep, at some moments It goes away and others it will return. I went to more than 12 different doctors, anyone knew what was happening. I have ocd, this year is going to be my 5th year with ocd and with anxiety, with despersonalization and irreality.
Avatar n tn The sertraline lol now I take celexa and its not really making me feel too different from the sertraline but, im always all over my bf now ahaha and as for the anxiety the sertraline basically killed that monster lol
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed me Sertraline 25mg on top of my existing med. The first day I took Sertraline I got stomach upset and diarrhea; reduced to 12.5mg now. I m suffering side-effects like I'm having a fever(fatigue, sweaty, chills at times). On top of that, my menstruation's cramp is exceptionally bad this time, not sure it was affected by Sertraline. I am not sure this med would help me anymore. Hope someone could induce more positive effects about Sertraline.
Avatar f tn Hi,use of sertraline for more than 6 months is associated with weight gain, but the incidence is very less and that too not significant.Whereas topomax causes weight loss. Please consult doctor before quitting sertraline as withdrawl symptoms are quite common.
Avatar f tn I have been on 200mg of sertraline for a long time and after trying other drugs I know this is the best for me. I have recently founf out im pregnant so asked my doctor for advice. I was told the risks are minimal and recommended I stay on it. Is it true the only risk is the baby might be born with a sertraline addiction?
