It is 2011 and i have found my way back to sertraline. I am currently taking 10mg of buspirone 2x day and 15mg of mirtazapine for major depression and generalized anxiety. I have been feeling constantly tired, apathetic and despondent.
Hi everyone. About 2 weeks ago my medication of Levothyroxine and Sertraline was increased to Levothyroxine 100 micro grams and Sertraline 50mg. About a week after starting these I got a positive pregnancy test (I took about 3 tests just to make sure lol). I have a midwife appointment tomorrow but my symptoms have been bare to none (Only cramping, tiredness and on/off headaches). I was wondering if any of these medications can effect a pregnancy test?
I am currently 16 weeks pregnant. While there have not been any major studies done as to the affects of sertraline and pregnancy, it is one of the more commonly prescribed antidepressant meds by ob doctors because there has not been a defiante link made to issues with the fetus.

I have been on 200mg of sertraline for a long time and after trying other drugs I know this is the best for me. I have recently founf out im pregnant so asked my doctor for advice. I was told the risks are minimal and recommended I stay on it. Is it true the only risk is the baby might be born with a sertraline addiction?
I am currently taking sertraline for mood swings and have been taking it for about 5 years. I also have recently been put on topamax for migraines. I have read about all this wonderful weight loss. If anything I have gained. Could these 2 medicines together be holding me back from losing> I would like to go off of the sertraline.
Im almost 7wks pregnant and on 50mg of sertraline for anxiety. There are a few risks with every med while pregnant however your doctor felt the benefits over ruled. Sertraline is probably the safest antidepressant to take while pregnant. Ive talked to people who took it while pregnant and have had healthy strong babies. One lady i spoke to even had 3 beautiful baby girls while taking 100mg during all 3 pregnancies. Try not to worry to much. Everything will be fine.

I am on 25mg sertraline, day 8 for anxiety and panic attacks - so far only really feeling the side effects and no real relief yet but am very hopeful given all the positive comments I've read online - if I can just last until it starts to kick in. Also hoping that I won't require a higher dosage.
I don't think it's the drug. If you're having unprotected sex maybe you are pregnant. Try getting tested for it, that will answer your concerns about this. If you're not pregnant, talk to your prescribing physician and see if this is a known side effect.
After I convinced my parents that I need to see a psychiatrist and they agreed, i started getting better. A few sessions with the psychiatrist and I felt so good and so confident, there was nothing to fear, I was in safe hands. I started doing CBT and taking sertraline and became completely normal.
MY OCD was very obsessive where I got tabboo thoughts about sex and death. all these have now gone and even if they do pop up sometime I dont care much because I know I will not go insane.
You have been prescribed Sertraline for mood swings and also it is working well for you, your correlation of using Sertraline and getting migraines might be ok, but it is always better to discuss with the doctor who prescribed the drug about its possible side effects and a substitute thereon. You might consult a migraine specialist also to get an evaluation and update on drug use. Try relaxation techniques to decrease stress. Keep posting your views. Take care.
25 mg Clonazepam after breakfast. Sertraline after lunch and 0.25 mg Clonazepam, 2.5 mg Propranolol and my regular thyroid medication after dinner. I am trying to wean off Propranolol. Is this correct schedule?
Would I become hypertensive or hypotensive after the initial dosage? Please do reply.
The sertraline lol now I take celexa and its not really making me feel too different from the sertraline but, im always all over my bf now ahaha and as for the anxiety the sertraline basically killed that monster lol
It is a good fit. I ended up in a psych ward for 3 days because I ate a bottle of Prozac and everything else made me feel dead inside. I remember wanting to cry and my eyes actually hurting from trying and I couldn't. It sucked and I hate that people have to go through these feelings

That was about a year ago, I never had to increase my dose again and in fact, my doc and I are talking about tapering down and see how I feel.
If you asked 10 people this same question, you'd get 10 different answers.
Having said that, I would say that if you haven't noticed ANY change in your mood within 6-8 weeks, you could probably discuss a dosage increase with your doctor at that point.
With antidepressants, the by-word is "patience!
t bother to test if the most intimate you have been is innocuous (such as merely kissing, or embracing with your clothing on and pressing together). Those will not get you pregnant, save the trouble of getting a test if that's all you've done.
As suggested above, if your period keeps staying away, see a doctor. (Especially if you are not underweight.
Week one I was emotional but that settled down and week two was manageable and i felt generally calmer. However by day 14 anxiety smptoms worsened and i am feeling flushed in the face and tingly in arms and waking early feeling unable to cope with nerves and sweating. Should I stick it out? My GP isn't happy for me to take cymbalta in pregnancy and I don't have many options left. I have tried fluoxetine and had the syndrome and was really ill. Can't take citalapram. Help!
