Hello, So I started taking Generic Zoloft Sertraline18 days ago for horrible anxiety and unwanted thoughts along with being in the lowest position I've ever been in. I was on Lexapro and Klonopin for a month and that did not work out for me at all. I had been on Zoloft about 1.5 years ago and it worked for me so I decided to ask for it again. I stopped the Lexapro and started on 25mg Sertraline for 4 days then up to 50mg. The first week and a half were incredibly difficult.

Hi, does anyone know i you can take Amitriptyline and Sertraline at the same time. I have been taking Amitriptyline for a while for depression and pain but 6 weeks ago I suffered a stroke and my depression is worse so was given Sertraline along with the other.

The reason I switched was cost and the fact that sertraline works better for me. Lexapro is a refined version of celexa basically from what I understand.

I just recently went from Lexapro (20 mg) to 25 mg of Sertraline. I saw a psychiatrist last week, though, and she said that 20 mg of Lexapro is equivalent to 100-150 mg of Sertraline, so I was dosed too low. I would see about gradually upping your dosage. I took 25 mg for two weeks, 50 mg for three weeks, and last week went up to 75 mg. Next week I start on 100 mg. I had terrible headaches, dizziness, and nausea for about three and half weeks, but they've now subsided.

t imagine very many people taking three different drugs that all target serotonin receptors at the same time. Celexa and Lexapro are essentially the same drug, with Lexapro being Celexa with some of the molecules cut out. This is weird indeed. I wonder why the Zoloft wasn't tried at a more therapeutic dose instead of layering on the same kind of drugs.

Hi, I have OCD and GAD. I've been off and on Zoloft for 4 years. 1 year ago, after getting back on SSRI's after being off for 1 year, my Dr. put me on Lexapro. I started to freak out because I had leg muscle twitching. MInd you, I never had muscle twitches before while I was on Zoloft the pervious years. Anyway, the twitching made me more anxious and fueled my OCD.

I take a big dose of Ativan a day 6mg , was 4mg for 4years but tolerance forces increase , my 5mg Lexapro has pooped and I am in trouble now. having used all the SSRI,S and not wishing to go back on any SNRI I am forced to try sertraline again . It was the med that pooped before Lexapro so its second go and I don't hold much hope.

I know Celexa, lexapro and Sertraline both gave me night sweats. They are all selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Effexor is an SNRI, serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. I think since they both inhibit serotonin, that most likely is the reason you're sweating. The effect for me didn't lessen with time, it was every night for as long as I took them.

Anyone else experience excess sewating on sertraline been on it 10days now 8days at 50mg an 2 days at 100mg I.

With the first he was on Lexapro, and it worked well. With the second he was on Lexapro, added Bupropion (which didn't work well - made him feel "funny' - so it was discontinued), and then added Trazedone, which worked well in combination with the Lexapro. With triple therapy with Inc., he is currently on Citalopram, and it's working well. He wasn't able to be on Lexapro because it is contraindicated with Incivek.

I have never been on it, but I have been on other SSRIs like Lexapro. I am big proponent of medications like these as long as you combine it with talk therapy. Remember, meds like these will not "cure" you of anything in the long term, but they are useful while you learn about your anxiety in my experience with this.

Women have a higher risk of breast cancer recurrence if they take tamoxifen along with paroxetine, fluoxetine, or sertraline... but NOT citalopram, escitalopram, or fluvoxamine. .....About 30% of women on tamoxifen also take an SSRI for depression or hot flashes. FDA will add new warnings..

Zoloft (sertraline),, Celexa (Citalopram), and Lexapro (Escitalopram). Stay away from Paxil (Paroxetine) as that treatment has as much or more sweating than Prozac. Hope this helps...

My daughter was prescribed zoloft (sertraline) 25 mg, celexa 10 mg, and lexapro 5 mg to take all together. When picking up her prescription, the pharmacist questioned the prescribing doctors mix saying that taking all three could cause serotonin syndrome. My daughter started out on the zoloft at half dose for a week, then went to 25 mg, then added celexa and lexapro a few weeks later. She is now at week 16 but seems to be doing fine except for she can't get rid of a flu.

Because of depression I was already underweight, so my psychiatrist decided to switch me to Sertraline instead, to keep me from losing more weight. The first week I still had some nasty adverse effects like insomnia, sweaty hands and feet, lack of appetite and insomnia. I also stopped taking Clonazepam during the day, but instead I stared taking 0,5 mg and 5 mg of Zolpidem at night, which has helped my sleeping patterns.

ive bn taking sertraline for around 10 years, very appropriate medication for my symptoms it seems but recently ive started having heart palpitations and am slowly sinking into depression again with thoughts of self harm although i dont think i would ever kill myself i do make little cut where it cant be seen. Any advice? brain fog is also coming back.

I started taking Lexapro almost four months ago and since then I get burning sensations in my head. I worry that this could be something more serious and my doctors are not guiding me correctly. The sensations happened more frequently in the beginning, however they still find their way back on occasion. It is extrememly uncomfortable and scary. My psychistrist believes that it is anxiety, not from the Lexapro, but I am not sure that I agree.

My own personal recommendations for people starting out with medication would be Zoloft or Lexapro. They both have a pretty good track record, both in effectiveness of treating the symptoms of anxiety, and also in ease of tolerating the medication. They do both have sexual side effects as one of their issues, but as with any med, that varies from person to person. I've been on both in the past...

I have anxiety issues and have tried fluoxetine, sertraline, (both led to decreased sex drive and lack of orgasm) and now escitalopram (which helped the sexual aspect but still gaining). I am also on requip 0.5mg for my RLS and iron 325mg for my low iron and ferritin. When I have increase in anxiety i take lorazepam which is usually at night for me right before bed. Do any of these combo of drugs increase wt gain? I just don't know where to turn as for as the increasing in wt.

Are these two drugs compatable levothyroxine and sertraline hcl? Does your thyroid control your blood sugar?
