Avatar m tn My daughter-in-law takes sertraline and she doesn't have great insurance. Her doctor has her coming in Monthly for a new Rx and charging her $185 a visit. Can she get 5 refills so that she only has to go back to the doctor every 6 months? Or is there a behavioral medical service that offers free or reduced cost care? In Central NJ..
Avatar m tn Yes, I've been on brand Zoloft for 25 yrs and now, since I had to go on medicare Pfizer will no longer help me with the cost. It's $ 400 per month even with my ins. I had to switch to Sertraline and I definitely can tell the difference. This is the medication that has worked for me all these years. Pfizer was only asking $24 for 3 months of 150mg a day. To get Zoloft 150mg it would cost me over $1000 for 3 months. That just doesn't seem right!
Avatar n tn I've been on medication for anxiety and depression most of my adult life - I'm 70, so that's a long time. Most of that time I've been fine. Last summer, the meds I'd been on for 3 yrs (citalopram) stopped working. By the time I realised that's what was happening, I was a mess - anxiety sky-high, depression the worst it's ever been. The GP put me on sertraline, which took 2 months to kick in, and referred me to a psychiatrist.
Avatar m tn Hello. 10 years ago i've been diagnosed with panic disorder. I'm on sertraline for almost 10 years. 8 years ago i was examined with brain CT scan. It showed that everything is fine. I did EEG three times, because of myoclonic jerks and muscle twitches. It always showed abnormal theta waves. The latest examination (after sleep deprivation) also showed abnormal theta waves, this time accompanied with paroxysmal activity. I was also given an urgent referral to the neurologist.
Avatar m tn Are these two drugs compatable levothyroxine and sertraline hcl? Does your thyroid control your blood sugar?
612551 tn?1450022175 I suppose a depressing side effect of new patented medications is the cost, which may be so high that along can make one depressed. The Sertraline is very affordable.
Avatar m tn I'm a 30yr old male. I was on Sertraline approx 10 years ago for depression and it seemed to work until a crash. For one reason or another over the years, my treatment has changed several times. It is 2011 and i have found my way back to sertraline. I am currently taking 10mg of buspirone 2x day and 15mg of mirtazapine for major depression and generalized anxiety. I have been feeling constantly tired, apathetic and despondent.

Avatar m tn I have had migraines for the past 20 years, normally I experience 3 or 4 migraines a year but since I have been taking Sertraline I have had many more than usual. I am sure that it is the Sertraline because I normally take it before bed and have woke up several mornings with the leftover pain from the migraine I had while sleeping ( before Sertraline I have never had a migraine during the night ).

Avatar f tn Hello everyone, three months ago I started with pgad, which is a condition that you feel unwanted sexual arousal, it is horrible, I couldn't even sleep, at some moments It goes away and others it will return. I went to more than 12 different doctors, anyone knew what was happening. I have ocd, this year is going to be my 5th year with ocd and with anxiety, with despersonalization and irreality.
Avatar n tn The sertraline lol now I take celexa and its not really making me feel too different from the sertraline but, im always all over my bf now ahaha and as for the anxiety the sertraline basically killed that monster lol
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed me Sertraline 25mg on top of my existing med. The first day I took Sertraline I got stomach upset and diarrhea; reduced to 12.5mg now. I m suffering side-effects like I'm having a fever(fatigue, sweaty, chills at times). On top of that, my menstruation's cramp is exceptionally bad this time, not sure it was affected by Sertraline. I am not sure this med would help me anymore. Hope someone could induce more positive effects about Sertraline.
1348686 tn?1310654243 I just switched from lexapro to zoloft and the transition went smoothly. Lexapro is a great drug, after the first 5 or 6 weeks it starts to kick in and you should start feeling better but give it time. It takes most SSRI's anywhere from 4 to 10 weeks to start working completely. The reason I switched was cost and the fact that sertraline works better for me. Lexapro is a refined version of celexa basically from what I understand.
Avatar f tn Hi,use of sertraline for more than 6 months is associated with weight gain, but the incidence is very less and that too not significant.Whereas topomax causes weight loss. Please consult doctor before quitting sertraline as withdrawl symptoms are quite common.
Avatar m tn Hello Ireland from UK. I took 150mg Sertraline once daily. I am on a different drug, but still take 150mg in one go. No problem with that. Your new doctor is right.
1709162 tn?1314084832 I started taking sertraline a week ago. After 5 days of taking it I ended up in hospital with rapid heartbeat adrenaline rushes and chest pain. They kept me in and treated me as a heart attack because of abnormal ecg. I was kept.in overnight and concluded that I was suffering from oesophagul spasms. They have set me up to have a myoview scan as I have had an echo a year ago when I had the same problems which was good. They told my doc to give me nifedipine for the spasms which made me.worse.
