From my research, most sertraline (generic for Zoloft) are not made in the US. This means that the standards and some of the ingredients are not the same, and there is virtually no oversight. There is "Northstar sertraline," which was previously available at Target; "Camber sertraline," available at Target and CVS; "Greenstone sertraline," available at Walgreens, and "Teva sertraline," which is made in Israel--I'm not sure where that is available.
Some people do fine with the sertraline generics, but others find they are not as effective, or experience more side effects. Some peolpe find one manufacturer's generic is okay, while a different generic is not.
One of my patients switched to a generic after being on brand Zoloft for years, and soon after developed GI symptoms, She was about to be put on a med. for that problem, but decided to first try switching back to Zoloft.
I have experienced no side effects and the generic form sertraline was available for only $5 a month so it was cheaper and better for me than constantly eating candy. I'm still on the medicine.

this is just a generic for zoloft correct?? if so then yes. I do all the time. But you can always ask your pharmacist any of these questions, he is always the best for answers as to what not to mix.
Sertraline is the generic name for Zoloft, which is an antidepressant. It doesn't contain HCG, and it has no effect on a pregnancy test.
Just remember that there are side effects with Sertraline (Zoloft) in both the generic and brand name forms especiallly when you start, change doses, or come off of it, but for most people they are not that bad. For example I have more side effects from taking a Claritan than I ever did with Zoloft. As with any medical concerns, always keep an open channel with your doctor to express any of your concerns or questions.
Hi, I switched from Effexor XR to Venlafaxine ER (extended release) - this is available in the generic form. I live in switzerland though so maybe it isn't available in the UK yet as this was only available to me at the beginning of 2009 when the patent was up. I had the same problems with both Effexor and Venlafaxine so my psychiatrist added Wellbutrin extended release and this eased the symptoms significantly as I was also feeling depressed and suicidal.

Im on generic zooloft 50 mg. (sertraline) I was on generic Prozac 40 mg...then it was increased to 80 mg, I had to switch because I was getting heartburn so bad.
About 1 year ago, I had a physical done and my blood work was perfect. I have been taking the generic for Zoloft, Sertraline, for about 8 months now. I did another physical 3 wks ago, and it showed my TSH levels off and my Cholesterol as 276 with high LDL cholesterol also. My HDL level was high, which is great. I exercise and eat very healthy.
s had problems with holding her urine. At times it will just come out. She was put on a med. from the Vet. Does anyone know of a generic brand or natural one that will do the same. I can't keep going back paying office visits everytime she needs a new med.

"By the way - a previous posting stated "Wellbutrin" is the generic name for Zyban. That's not accurate. The medicine is too new to have a generic equivalent. Both Wellbutrin and Zyban contain "Bupropion", which would be the generic name if one existed at this point. Wellbutrin is the version of bupropion often prescribed and intended to treat depression, while Zyban is used for smoking cessation. (Though some Docs prescribe Wellbutrin to help stop smoking too..
So long story short, my father's job doesn't support our health insurance anymore. I currently have a job at a temp agency and they don't provide health insurance either. My prescription for the newest asthma inhaler from my doctor now costs me $184 for one dose. I've taken Foradil and Advair before and they both work, so I started looking up affordable brands online.

Hello everyone, I need so advice on what I can do or take to help increase my sex drive. I am 31 yrs old and take a 100mg of Sertraline (a generic for Zoloft) everyday and I have no sex drive. My husband is understanding but getting impatient! I am even getting impatient!! I don't want to switch meds because these work for me. I am wondering if anyone has the same problem and what they are doing to help them. Are there any supplements I can take with these meds to help?
I'm 11weeks pregnant and have been prescribed Sertraline. Is this safe?? Read the side effects of what could happen to my newborn baby and very concerned and worrying now.
