Avatar m tn Smilerdeb is no longer active on the forum... Do you also have a thyroid condition? Or just the borderline diabetes? Quick bit of research and I find that sertaline can increase blood sugar levels. You might want to discuss this with your doctor. Have you had thyroid levels checked? Hypothyroidism often causes anxiety and depression and should be ruled out, before anti-anxiety/anti-depressants are taken.
Avatar f tn It pauses for a second and then has a really hard beat. I talked with my doctor and he said it might be sertraline im on(been lowered back to 150 mg for the last 5 days). Ever since it’s only increased in frequency. It happens multiple times a day and is very bothersome. Should I be worried about this?
Avatar m tn I'm a 30yr old male. I was on Sertraline approx 10 years ago for depression and it seemed to work until a crash. For one reason or another over the years, my treatment has changed several times. It is 2011 and i have found my way back to sertraline. I am currently taking 10mg of buspirone 2x day and 15mg of mirtazapine for major depression and generalized anxiety. I have been feeling constantly tired, apathetic and despondent.

Avatar m tn I have had migraines for the past 20 years, normally I experience 3 or 4 migraines a year but since I have been taking Sertraline I have had many more than usual. I am sure that it is the Sertraline because I normally take it before bed and have woke up several mornings with the leftover pain from the migraine I had while sleeping ( before Sertraline I have never had a migraine during the night ).
Avatar f tn Hello everyone, three months ago I started with pgad, which is a condition that you feel unwanted sexual arousal, it is horrible, I couldn't even sleep, at some moments It goes away and others it will return. I went to more than 12 different doctors, anyone knew what was happening. I have ocd, this year is going to be my 5th year with ocd and with anxiety, with despersonalization and irreality.

Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed me Sertraline 25mg on top of my existing med. The first day I took Sertraline I got stomach upset and diarrhea; reduced to 12.5mg now. I m suffering side-effects like I'm having a fever(fatigue, sweaty, chills at times). On top of that, my menstruation's cramp is exceptionally bad this time, not sure it was affected by Sertraline. I am not sure this med would help me anymore. Hope someone could induce more positive effects about Sertraline.
Avatar f tn Hi,use of sertraline for more than 6 months is associated with weight gain, but the incidence is very less and that too not significant.Whereas topomax causes weight loss. Please consult doctor before quitting sertraline as withdrawl symptoms are quite common.

The selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) sertraline (ZOLOFT), widely prescribed for depression, has been associated with a decrease in the effect of levothyroxine. i take zolaft 100 mg daily. i still have testi pain and burning. i am now bieng treated with diflucan for 7 days for a yeast infection. should i be worried. do u think my ngu was wiped out. i was bieng treated for resistant ngu.
Avatar m tn Hello Ireland from UK. I took 150mg Sertraline once daily. I am on a different drug, but still take 150mg in one go. No problem with that. Your new doctor is right.
1709162 tn?1314084832 I started taking sertraline a week ago. After 5 days of taking it I ended up in hospital with rapid heartbeat adrenaline rushes and chest pain. They kept me in and treated me as a heart attack because of abnormal ecg. I was kept.in overnight and concluded that I was suffering from oesophagul spasms. They have set me up to have a myoview scan as I have had an echo a year ago when I had the same problems which was good. They told my doc to give me nifedipine for the spasms which made me.worse.

Avatar f tn Are the symptoms I am experiencing a side effect of sertraline? I am on day 16 of taking 50mg sertraline after switching from cymbalta to try and find a saferdrug to try for pregnancy. Week one I was emotional but that settled down and week two was manageable and i felt generally calmer. However by day 14 anxiety smptoms worsened and i am feeling flushed in the face and tingly in arms and waking early feeling unable to cope with nerves and sweating. Should I stick it out?

9475243 tn?1405300275 So tomorrow I am to start Sertraline. My psychiatrist said to start slow with it. He gave me 50 mg to break in half and take for a week...my question is is it safe to break the 25 mg in half as well and start even slower? I'm a huge baby when it comes to side effects :( but id take 12.5 my for a week then 25 mg for a week then 50mg then I would see him again. Has anyone ever done this? Thanks. Also share experiences if you like.
