Avatar f tn hi, I've posted here before about my battle with anxiety/depression. I was on effexor for a long time, it did absolutely nothing for me. Now the doctor switched me to Sertraline with Seroquel at night and Clonazapam 3 times a day. After the first week I honestly thought I was getting better, but this week I haven't been sleeping (not even an hour) and feel severely depressed.
Avatar m tn My psychiatrist has prescribed me 50mg of seroquel for my OCD. However, I have heard that Seroquel can shrink your brain. Is it worth it? What do you guys think of these studies? http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/mad-in-america/201102/andreasen-drops-bombshell-antipsychotics-shrink-the-brain http://www.psychiatrictimes.com/antipsychotics-and-shrinking-brain http://www.medpagetoday.

Avatar m tn I'm a 30yr old male. I was on Sertraline approx 10 years ago for depression and it seemed to work until a crash. For one reason or another over the years, my treatment has changed several times. It is 2011 and i have found my way back to sertraline. I am currently taking 10mg of buspirone 2x day and 15mg of mirtazapine for major depression and generalized anxiety. I have been feeling constantly tired, apathetic and despondent.
Avatar f tn Since seroquel has such a huge effect on sleep and auditory hallucinations are often associated with that? Did they get worse when she started this med? Chemical imbalance of the brain is also often associated and hopefully these meds would even this out. I'd keep at making sure meds are just right but does she also do talk therapy? CBT, DBT and ACT therapy are all pretty helpful. https://my.clevelandclinic.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone, three months ago I started with pgad, which is a condition that you feel unwanted sexual arousal, it is horrible, I couldn't even sleep, at some moments It goes away and others it will return. I went to more than 12 different doctors, anyone knew what was happening. I have ocd, this year is going to be my 5th year with ocd and with anxiety, with despersonalization and irreality.
Avatar f tn I am currently taking sertraline for mood swings and have been taking it for about 5 years. I also have recently been put on topamax for migraines. I have read about all this wonderful weight loss. If anything I have gained. Could these 2 medicines together be holding me back from losing> I would like to go off of the sertraline.
Avatar f tn I take 100mg of zoloft and .50mg of clonazepam for my panic attacks. When I first started having them, all my doctor prescribed was clonazepam. But I went back to him a couple of months later because that wasn't working by itself. He started me on 25mg of zoloft (sertraline) and I've worked up to 100mg. That seems to have done the trick. You should ask your doctor about trying zoloft w/ clonazepam.

Avatar n tn I am on 25mg sertraline, day 8 for anxiety and panic attacks - so far only really feeling the side effects and no real relief yet but am very hopeful given all the positive comments I've read online - if I can just last until it starts to kick in. Also hoping that I won't require a higher dosage.
Avatar f tn I've been friggen taken sertraline 200mg for 2 months and both my doctor and psychiatrist tell me to keep taking it despite any help. My biggest symptoms are trouble concentrating and insomnia. So why am I taking sertraline when its side effect is insomnia?? Also i'm taking 200mg Seroquel that has a side effect of confusion, that's what I want to avoid.
574118 tn?1305135284 ve been taking seroquel for anxiety and sertraline for depression for quite a few years. I used to be on 100mg a day of seroquel and my phciatrist had said that some people can be on 400/500mg (and even more than this) of this tablet and function fine/not be tired/dozy etc where as for other people lower does can be really good aswell and sometimes can be even more beneficial.
Avatar f tn It is a good fit. I ended up in a psych ward for 3 days because I ate a bottle of Prozac and everything else made me feel dead inside. I remember wanting to cry and my eyes actually hurting from trying and I couldn't. It sucked and I hate that people have to go through these feelings By the way, we are neighbors. I'm in Surfside!
663901 tn?1232649671 Yes when I was on Seroquel I had to get an eye exam each year due to the extremely rare risk of cataracts but I saw an opthamologist anyway so it was no big deal. That is statisically rare and no reason to be concerned about Seroquel and a check up as I suggested is the best form of follow up. Seroquel is safe in this regard. In this case (you know I am always factual) your pharmacist was overstating the risk but a follow up visit is generally a good idea.
Avatar f tn Since seroquel can cause high BG you sure your diabetic and not as a result of seroquel raising your BG? Go to Google and put seroquel into the serch field.
Avatar n tn I would recommend talking to your doctor and seeing about maybe making some adjustments and then reassessing the Seroquel after a few weeks. As far as your question about Seroquel being "addicting", it's not a medication that typically causes those types of issues for most people, however, it still should not be stopped abruptly after being on it a while. A taper is recommended for sure, so just keep that in mind. There can be some symptoms related to discontinuation.
Avatar m tn s the better choice for now) and she told me to take sertraline for a month to see If I get the wanted improvement. That was some time ago, I didn't take the sertraline then because I felt kind of scared about it because I read it is an antidepresive and I'm not depressive. Later I talked about it with a couple psychiatrists on the internet and my psychiatrist, they all told me not to be scared about it, they told me it was just to help something related to serotonin.
Avatar f tn My first pregnancy i did bot use it and my daughter is very smart. I was wondering if any of you have used seroquel and delivered a healthy baby.
