seizure

1423357 tn?1511085442 When the dog detected or sensed that he was going to have a seizure, it would try and go hide. When that happened his mom and dad knew he was going to have a seizure which in turn allowed them time to put on his protective helmet and get him to an area were the odds of him hurting himself was less. Not all dogs react the same way when they sense a seizure is going to happen, that just happens to be his.
492869 tn?1285018933 A fainting episode I experienced a little over a year ago caused a concussion that resulted in a mild seizure disorder. Though my seizure disorder is now well controlled by Zonegran, the drug itself causes mental fatigue. Approximately two weeks ago, I had another concussion. My mother returned home from work only to find me unconscious in the stairwell, and called Emergency. I am now recovering from a post-concussive head injury.
Avatar f tn s me well we will have to wait 2yrs after your last seizure then we have ta reduce your med for 6 month and after 6 month u did not have a seizure well u may have your driver's licence.
Avatar f tn Have you had seizures before, are you medicated for them, has any change in the medication (type or dose or have you been prescribed something in addition to your usual meds after the seizure) occurred since your recent seizure, were you engaged in activities before your seizure that may have contributed to its occurrence (drinking alcohol, energy drinks, supplements, taking new over-the-counter medications, recreational drugs, etc.).

136956 tn?1688675680 I grabbed her and took off her ball helmet and laid her down on the bench, her eyes were open and it looked like she was having a seizure so I tried to put her on her side but her lower legs were so stiff I couldnt move her. When she finally came through she looked very confused and she tried to sit up. I told her to stay down until she felt a little better. I put the cold water bottle on her head until she felt that she could sit up. it all lasted about a min.

Avatar m tn Seizure disorders sometimes fade and never return, so that someone who had seizures as a child or adolescent often will not have any as an adult. The medications used to treat seizures are all so-called antiseizure or anticonvulsant meds, including Topamax, Valproate, Trileptal, etc. The choice of med depends on the type of seizure disorder, and some people require two meds (polytherapy) to achieve good seizure control.
Avatar m tn Hello, Ten weeks ago I had unprotected oral (incl deep throat) with a prostitute. About a week later I developed clusters of tiny small raised spots/pimples on my penis helmet. The pimples has stayed and has not grown in size. No itching, no discharge and no pain on irination. After this encounter I washed my penis with alcohol gel. A red rash appeared (about a week after the pimples appeared) on my left side of the penis helmet and is still present.
Avatar m tn the most recent encounter was on june 29, about a week ego one morning i noticed a red ulcer looking sore, that is firm, small and round on my foreskin just below the head helmet... Last sti test i had done, blood and urine was back in February this year, all came back negative...
Avatar m tn I guess I am trying to decide to go without the seizure meds and get a helmet. I just want to feel ok again. I have gone 52 yrs without them maybe just knowing what they are is enough.
Avatar m tn Now anybody who used that helmet would have been hurt while taking off the helmet. 2-3 times I used the helmet just after he had used it. There was however a 5-10 minute gap between his taking off the helmet and mine using it. Can this be a means of transmission. Should I worry about the cuts on my ear and get tested? Thanks a lot.

492869 tn?1285018933 I wear a helmet now, but I started protecting myself too late. My most recent head injury was in late 2010, and I am still recovering. I would recommend considering a protective helmet to anyone who faints frequently.
Avatar f tn You need a helmet! Hope you heal quickly....
Avatar m tn Generally speaking, there should be at least a full year without seizure activity before you get behind a wheel. I would say there is zero chance of any physician clearing you to drive before that time. I could be wrong. There are some doctors who got their degrees with boxtops. A "second opinion" is meaningless. You got a raw deal, but the danger to others of you being behind a wheel is significant. The good news is, there is a good chance you will never again have a seizure.
Avatar f tn Yep, I'm a real life case of this. I had severe Rolandic epilepsy from 7-11 (more than three seizures a week), and now I am an honors student at univerisity! I haven't had a seizure for eight years. As for the hockey... my own doctors have told me that head injury is always a concern for people who have had epilepsy. But this is no reason to stop him from playing - just make sure he has a really good helmet, and be quick to treat any head injuries.
Avatar m tn My girlfriend performed oral on me for first time and two days later she got a coldsore (also for the first time). I also remember my ex-girlfriend getting a coldsore when we were engaging in oral sex last summer. I had an STD two years ago after a night of unprotected sex, resulting in a moluscum rash at the top of my pubic hair/lower stomach. The clinic tested me for STDs and identified it as 'non-specific uerithritis' (sic) and prescribed some anti-biotics.
Avatar f tn I have 2 children, and I can say take pictures, lots of pictures, seeing the pictures, sometimes will bring back a partial memory
Avatar f tn Because he is in skilled nursing, they do not allow restraints and he has to sleep with his helmet on, which I think is causing a lot of his over sleeping. Any ideas of something we might be able to do to protect his head from his scratching? That is all that I can think of right now, but would love any help I might be able to get from those people that have been there before. My goal is to get my Dad back to semi-normal anyway as soon as possible. I appreciate any help and response....
Avatar m tn She said it was about 3 or 4 hours from the time I went outside until we went to bed. She has pictures from that night that show me having a fun time with everyone. She said I seemed pretty normal. I do not remember anything except walking outside that night and waking up the next morning. That is when I started to have nights of sleepwalking again. Lots of nights where my wife says we have conversations in bed but I do not remember anything.
Avatar n tn average about 8 a day. During seizure, face starts twitching then sometimes my right thumb, my eyes are forced shut and my head starts turning all the way to the right, numbness in right arm and leg and two of my worst siezures lasted for more than 5 min and right side almost paralized. During my siezures I am aware of what is going on but cannot speak.I am very off balance, walk like I'm drunk. I had two cat scans, three emerg trips. one doc thinks increased intercranial pressure.
5615074 tn?1378316840 With my daughter I didn't find out until 22 weeks, and I had one doctor that I saw I think 2 times both within a week because the started out seeing me weekly as I had no prenatal care, I was smoking a pack a day, and doing activities most would say were unsafe for pregnancy. Okay unsafe for anybody. I used to ride bmx and obviously at 14 (and even now) don't use a helmet. Then my doctors office that is a clinic gave me a new doctor. I absolutly loved her.
359574 tn?1328360424 All I had to do was lie on the bed under a blanket and then have the helmet thing on my head for the brain one. I'm just hoping if mine was so short they did the mri correctly?
281219 tn?1219114914 Hey ladies, It's been a LONG LONG time since I've been on and it's so great to see that you all are doing well. I wanted to post a pic of Christopher who is now 7 months old. He's such a fun baby and this pregnancy thing at 40 is the most wonderful experience and best thing ever. We joke that he's our midlife-crisis baby but what a gift he is!! So the only bummer thing is that he's had back-to-back ear infections since 4 months.
