5281642 tn?1366917055 i just call the clinic and the nurse told me that my test was SANDWICH ELISA, is my test reliable after 4,5 months. Thanx - and i promise no more questions.
Avatar n tn so you think that a ELISA HIV TEST Third generation at 4 week is quite good indicator?
Avatar n tn Fourth generation ELISA for HIV1/HIV2 1) 4th generation ELISA is a DUO TEST (Antibody and Antigen Sandwich Test) .It actually looks for the P24 (protein) Antigen and Antibodies simultaneously. 2) P24 Antigen is almost always present in the body after acquiring the virus till the 4th week after infection and then it disappears . 3)Once the P24 antigen disappears, antibodies starts to show up.
Avatar m tn I would advice you to do 'Fourth generation ELISA for HIV1/HIV2' in 6week after the exposure. 1) 4th generation ELISA is a DUO TEST (Antibody and Antigen Sandwich Test) .It actually looks for the P24 (protein) Antigen and Antibodies simultaneously. 2) P24 Antigen is almost always present in the body after acquiring the virus till the 4th week after infection and then it disappears . 3)Once the P24 antigen disappears, antibodies starts to show up.
Avatar n tn Ab qualitative diagnosed test. So now I am in doupt what the differnce between EIA and ELISA test? And is there any difference in terms of implemntation method of the test or both is done in same procedure? Is it enough for me (Niegative result at 84 days) to know my HIV status or I should retest?

Avatar n tn Thanks Paris420 for your response. Question though, Yours was the only answer that I received. Does that mean everyone agrees with your answer?

Avatar m tn At 8 weeks, virtually 100% of infected people test POS for ABS. The 4th generation tests are designed for EARLY testing, so you would have been better off with just an AB test at 8 weeks.
Avatar n tn Are these results conclusive for being negative for HIV or do I need to get another ELISA again on 90 days post? The odds I've figured for myself are about 1/20,000,000,000 which makes me feel pretty good (using 3% incidence which is probably very high in the first place). I've also read that the difference between 82 and 90 days is irrelevant. However, it's just one of those things where a very slight possibility still seems uncomfortable.
Avatar m tn I have 23 days PCR DNA HIV-1 test negative also 54 days ELISA sandwich test negative. But yesterday, I started stomach pain and loose motions at 64 day. I am very tensed. I can not stop thinking about hiv. Is diarrhea and sever headache in one side of brain a symptom for HIV? I had some fever 100 deg for 6 hours and went down to 99 99.5 after sometime. How can I check whether I have swollen lymphnodes in my waist join? I feel slight pain in there. It is causing worry.
Avatar m tn I was worrying what if somebody put a HIV infected needle/sharp in my sandwich and it p*ricked me. Any reason to worry? and should I get tested for HIV?I would appreciate your all's thoughts.
Avatar m tn i already pass the 3 month period to get tested for HIV my question is , "HIV AG\AB test" after the three months it will be searching for the AB as well as it search for the AG if it found it, so what is the method used to search for the AB in the (HIV AG\AB) test , 2- is is better than the method in Elisa AB test after 3 months , 3- if i did h="hiv AG\AB" test after three months " is it conclusive as if i did HIV Elisa AB test" thanks in advance
Avatar f tn No matte what generation for test method , elisa generation 2 ? 3 or 4 ? Someone said 3 month is conclusive but some said 6 month & 12 month . Which is the correct timetable for conclusive test result ? Last test was 177 days by elisa negative but don't know what generation , was this result conclusive ?
Avatar f tn Hiye, this may seem a silly question but is the Elisa test that is used for HIV the same as the Elisa test used for rheumatoid arthritis?.. Is the Elisa just a standard antibody test that is not disease specific and if reactive then a specific test is used?..
