Avatar f tn I would be really careful my daughter was a preemie and as soon as we got home she ended up back in the hospital with rsv because this is the time of year its out. And because she was so small she almost died and ended up in a childrens hospital for 5 weeks. It was horrible.
Avatar f tn Especially for infants and toddlers my goodness!! I have a few friends with babies around thst age with that or toddlers with pneumonia or bronchitis. One friend has a kid with ALL THREE! He's in the hospital. Poor little dude. I hope your babe heals fast! Keep your head up mama!!

593530 tn?1263847957 I brought Brody to his pediatrician last week because he was very congested. After a nose swab was tested it was determined that he has RSV. Since it's a virus it can't be treated with antibiotics, so she instructed me to get a cool mist humidifier and keep his nasal pasages clear by using saline solution. The only symptom he's had is the congestion. There's no fever, coughing, mucous coming out, etc.
1368291 tn?1299629804 Saturday he was having lots of nasal congestion and coughing so I took him to the ER. He tested positive for RSV so the last few days have been scary. We are doing a cool mist humidifier with eucalyptus oil at night, albuterol breathing treatments and keeping his nose suctioned out. I hope he gets better soon but I did learn that apparently you cant trust family to let you know...
Avatar n tn My son is going to be 2 months old soon and a couple of days after he was born they told me he has RSV, i have been in and out of the hospital so many times and he dose not seem to be getting any better. I have read everybody stories and How they lost their loved ones and i am so scared that it might happen to my son. Please is there anything that i can do to prevent this from getting worse???
1347128 tn?1333810296 Your description of his continuing symptoms suggests that the lingering problem is limited to his nose and throat, not his lungs, which is what we have to worry about with RSV. I also gather that, while keeping his nose clear is the main problem that he is, otherwise, not in any respiratory distress. Also your statement that “he is a happy boy” is very encouraging, an important positive sign.
377012 tn?1283965435 i agree with both of you and i plan on taking him in monday to his ped. since he has been sent home from the ER with rsv, flu, and was also sent home with meds he shouldn't have been taking....our ER doesn't know what they are doing so i am kinda in a spot when he gets sick..there is another docs office that has late hours so i could take him there but they dont know his history so i dont know hwat they could do for him....
Avatar f tn I'm 18 years old and I have been having chest pains since I was a child. It is sharp pains and it hurts really bad. I usually can't move around when it happened and It makes it hard for me to breathe. It doesn't happen every day but it is often. It usually comes on when I am angry, stressed, upset, or sometimes I could just be doing nothing.
Avatar n tn My wife had our first child two weeks ago and he was diagnosed with SVT - WPW. He's being taken care of by an amazing team of doctors at Children's Hospital in Boston. My question is more about dealing with his condition once we get home. My wife and I are going back to work and we're concerned about sending him to day care. What have people done? Any recommendations/advice? My son will be in the hospital at least another week to 10 days before becoming an outpatient.
Avatar f tn One of my friends new born baby was diagnosed with rsv she is only a month old she is still in the hospital. And last night her 2 year old got bit by a dog. She was rushed to the er . She has to save surgery this morning if you can please say a prayer for this family.
Avatar f tn Then fever up to 104 and deydration the next took her to the ER they put her on IVs but could not find whats wrong. She has a history of RSV could this be what it is again. I dont know what o do?
377012 tn?1283965435 uuggghhh it was like acid coming up green watery substance. my son was diagnosed with RSV yesterday and i was wondering if im not preggo then could the RSV affect me causing me to feel this way?????
Avatar m tn Hi, are you sure you mentioned the laboratory attendant to do a HIV test? RSV ( Respiratory synctial virus) is an antibody test that detects antibodies against RSV virus thats related to a respiratory infection. Lets wait till other experts comment on your query.
1346146 tn?1299360497 Well Lauren has rsv! My pedi also said adults can get it to!?!? Didn't know that. I guess that explains this cold type stuff I have. So she is on breathing treatments. We caught it early enough so hopefully it wont be so bad. Dh is also sick, my oldest son broke his foot last week at school and is in a nonwalking cast, and Lauren also bit my left breast last week while nursing and it's infected so im on antibiotics and she can't nurse from that side!
Avatar n tn My daughter born on 10th august has been diagnosed by ECHO method that she has 5mm VSD from left to right shunt with 20mm gradient along with 3 mm ASD. doctor said to repeat the TEST after 6 weeks; what is significance of repeating after six weeks? whether preasure shall get settled so that no surgical closure is necessary now? what can i expect now in mynext appointment ? whether it closes automatically? if how much time it takes?
Avatar m tn I was in the ER a year ago because I felt like I was suffocating to death, and was hearing crackles in my chest. RSV B virus according to the nasal aspiration test lab results. (RSV-a pleasant way to die-you slowly suffocate but don't have any of the nasal sinus throat pain that comes with flu.) Xrays were negative but oxygenation rate was 85% and they gave me oxygen and an Albuterol nebulizer treatment, discharged home with antibiotics and an inhaler.
973741 tn?1342342773 I'm kind of confused, I guess. If Covid dragged on forever, that means you had long covid, and that means you could have had long-term consequences. I'm glad it appears you didn't, but we've all had the flu and I don't get where it is excruciatingly painful. It's not at all painful.
Avatar f tn for a runny nose/congestion and a cough. He told me she has a cold. The other day I suctioned out her nose with the bulb and there was blood in it along with yellow/green mucus. I told her Dr but he just said it sounds like a sinus infection but didn't offer any meds. Today I noticed she's breathing fast but I don't know if its just because she's congested?
229857 tn?1319029907 I agree with them. But I would continue with the nose drops and suctioning till you can take him to the doctor. If the mucus looks green at all you should take him in asap. That means that he definately has an infection and will need antibiotics.Make sure that he gets some fresh air also because indoor air has more dust that can irritate his sinuses. Best wishes! Let us know how he is doing.
2189208 tn?1339572701 i dont know how you put up with it i would done told her off and if my man cant deal with it i would tell him he can go be with his mom and she would never be back around me our my kids i know my husband and theres no way he would let his mom talk to me like that.him and her done had words befor and now she never has anything bad to say to me.as long as you put up with it shes just going to all ways walk all over you theres just no reason for a person to ack like that.
Avatar n tn My question is what would cause high fevers all the time with no answer and would you recommened a speacialist in pediartics?
Avatar f tn My 2 year old son acquired severe RSV at 6 weeks old. Ever since then he now has virally induced asthma. So he's been hospitalized a few times with bronchiolitis when he was 1 years old. The typical treatment has been 2ce a day pulmicort and 3xs a day to every 4 hours of albuterol. If that didn't work they would add predisone and sometimes zithromax. And those combos knocked it out. Well he now has 3 weeks of a rattling cough that just doesn't go away.
