R5 elisa test for gluten

Common Questions and Answers about R5 elisa test for gluten

elisa-test

Avatar f tn There are several steps that take place to generate an immune response and it takes time both for the positive reaction when gluten is present and to clear the antibodies when gluten is eliminated. There has been a great deal of discussion about how much and how long a challenge should be and there is no consensus. The minimum is 2 slices of bread per day for 6 weeks to get an accurate test. There are basically four tests that can be performed to aid in diagnosing celiac disease.
Avatar n tn +ELISA Test show I have IGG & IGM, gluten test showed and elevation, neuropathy in the toes and feet along with severe distention and bloating occured two years ago. I suffered with ischemic bowel, 5 different ulcers, some that bleed in the stomach. This was shown on a scope. Am lactaid intolerant. I saw this gluten insensitivity and tried eliminationg it from my diet. I improved so much I no longer needed a wheelchair. I became less bed ridden with sever back pain and intestinal problems.
Avatar m tn Have you been tested for food allergies? Particularly wheat or gluten? Skin tests do not always show results, but ELISA panels do.
Avatar n tn Are these results conclusive for being negative for HIV or do I need to get another ELISA again on 90 days post? The odds I've figured for myself are about 1/20,000,000,000 which makes me feel pretty good (using 3% incidence which is probably very high in the first place). I've also read that the difference between 82 and 90 days is irrelevant. However, it's just one of those things where a very slight possibility still seems uncomfortable.
Avatar n tn I'm not a doctor, I've been suffering with lyme and all it's many bizarre symptoms for many, many years though. Your symptoms could be lyme and yes, it is difficult to find a doctor who knows as much about this disease as he/she should. I couldn't believe how many doctors I had to see. It wasn't until an acquaintance told me that she suspected lyme because her daughter was going through the same thing. And that is what happens so often with lyme.
Avatar f tn In sum, if you get a positive Lyme test on a Western blot or ELISA test, it is likely accurate, but if you get a negative test on Western blot or ELISA test, it may be inaccurate: the test say you don't have it, but in reality, you very well could. PCR testing is not affected is this way, and is far more accurate as a result. PCR testing is offered *only* by IGeneX Labs and is considered highly accurate. An MD's signature is required to have this testing done, just as with W.
Avatar f tn There is a lot to be said for the wheat/gluten angle. I, too, am a senior citizen and am feeling much better. The alternative foods are interesting to try and I really like them. Bob's Red Mill GF flours and mixes are great, as are Namaste brownies and cakes.
Avatar m tn i already pass the 3 month period to get tested for HIV my question is , "HIV AG\AB test" after the three months it will be searching for the AB as well as it search for the AG if it found it, so what is the method used to search for the AB in the (HIV AG\AB) test , 2- is is better than the method in Elisa AB test after 3 months , 3- if i did h="hiv AG\AB" test after three months " is it conclusive as if i did HIV Elisa AB test" thanks in advance
Avatar f tn No matte what generation for test method , elisa generation 2 ? 3 or 4 ? Someone said 3 month is conclusive but some said 6 month & 12 month . Which is the correct timetable for conclusive test result ? Last test was 177 days by elisa negative but don't know what generation , was this result conclusive ?
Avatar f tn Hiye, this may seem a silly question but is the Elisa test that is used for HIV the same as the Elisa test used for rheumatoid arthritis?.. Is the Elisa just a standard antibody test that is not disease specific and if reactive then a specific test is used?..
Avatar m tn A negative Western blot test means the ELISA test was a false positive test. The Western blot test can also be unclear, in which case more testing is done. Negative tests do not rule out HIV infection. There is a period of time (called the "window period") between HIV infection and the appearance of anti-HIV antibodies that can be measured. This period is 3 months from exposure. However, negative WB at 45 days is certainly very encouraging.
Avatar m tn Thank you for your response. I am not sure what test the doctor did for Celiacs. I just know it was a blood test and he said I didn't have the genetic marker for it. Does that help? He did say, however, that if the problem persists he would like to do an upper endoscopy to check for Celiacs. He said the blood tests aren't the only indicator. As for the allergy test, I had the skin tests at the request of my GI. He said they produce less false positive and false negative results.
Avatar f tn My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !
Avatar n tn Dear Doc (and forum readers), About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though. I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
Avatar m tn with refer to no.1. it seems HIV antigen (for ELISA test) could withstand for long period after taken out from human body? In addition, may I know what should do and dont's before blood sampling for ELISA test for HIV? e.g. fasting, take medicine, smoking, sufficient sleep, no fever etc....
Avatar f tn how accurate is a negative elisa test 3 weeks post risky exposure for a woman (unprotected sex) with a hiv positive man? my doctor says its 100% accurate, is this true....
Avatar f tn it happened that i am familiar with the ELISA procedure... for me it takes up to 6 hours at best... here it was less than 3..... yep, negative of course. ositive would take a western blot which as i know may take days...
Avatar m tn i have got an elisa test done for hiv 3 years after exposure. my test confirmed that i was negative. do i need to get retested or can i be assured that i am hiv negative. and yeah thanks for answering my previous questions, it helped me a great deal. you all are doing a great job , thumbs up....
Avatar m tn ve 30.50.60.70.80.86.92.115 elisa test. it necessary to obtain the test to be negative anymore, all the days of 6 months?
Avatar m tn 1 percent of the population is a low incidence of hiv, every elisa test is good at 3 months, that you have been told already, with each generation of test they get to detect a little bit earlier, elisa has been used to detect many viruses other than hiv, its an extremely reliable way to test for a virus, to culture for the virus takes to long. i doubt if they still use first generation test unless its home access test, also rapid test like oraquick are equilivant to 2 nd gen testing.
Avatar f tn my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
