This is an acronym and it stands for enzyme Linked Immuno-Sorbent Assay. ELISA is not a test in itself. It is a method of testing and it is a relatively simple test to perform. It involves putting a measured amount of diluted patient serum into the wells of a specially constructed and prepared plate and incubating it for a period of time with various chemicals.
+ELISA Test show I have IGG & IGM, gluten test showed and elevation, neuropathy in the toes and feet along with severe distention and bloating occured two years ago. I suffered with ischemic bowel, 5 different ulcers, some that bleed in the stomach.This was shown on a scope. Am lactaid intolerant. In sum, if you get a positive Lyme test on a Western blot or ELISA test, it is likely accurate, but if you get a negative test on Western blot or ELISA test, it may be inaccurate: the test say you don't have it, but in reality, you very well could. I had an ELISA Food Allergy test, which indicated that I should avoid about 15 foods, including gluten, eggs, and dairy. I have IBS-C and a few months ago I was tested for Celiacs Disease by a blood test and it came back negative. I had a colonoscopy and it revealed that I have a tortuous colon. For that reason, I take Miralax and Amitza every day.
Some other things about me that are noteworthy:
I am a 38 year old female
I eat a vegan diet and have done so for 10 years.
I don't drink soda or beer or any alcohol.
I had allergy tests done and I am negative for soy, corn, wheat, beans.
my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
There is a lot of new tests but elisa is just the type of test, there are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation of elisas, and there continue to be a lot of research for new tests, the newest teste tend to be rapid test accurate as elsia tests, there has been also improvement also in the NAAT tests, and some labs are trying to come up with a new 5th generation rapid test (PCR+Antibody+p24) but is not ready yet.
My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !

About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though.
I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
hello, i had protected sex with an hiv positive girl (i just discovered), i had sex with her twice, but she gave me several oral sex, i saw some blood on my penis in one of them, from her mouth i think.. i have no symptoms untill now, i did Elisa test 52 days after 1st time and 20 days after last time and today it´s been 2 months since 1st time (the day i saw the blood) and 1 month after our last time.
Hi i Just wanted to know how accurate is ELISA third generation tests is,
my last sex was at 04/11/2010 i did the first test on 22/1/2011 the result wasELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.15) i started to get worried of the number so i did a second test on 15/2/2011 just to make sure that i completed 3 monthes and the rsult came ELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.33) i freeked out why that number is keeping rising !!
and work in lap said me thit is elisa method . and take another test after 6 months result test after 2 days in hospital ?// can elisa method take result in 30 min only ????
3. any diffrent about first elisa gen and third gen?? the same window piriod after 6 months?
4. can antibdies late in 12 months ??
5. can all elisa test to detect hiv1 and hiv2 and all group or strains in hiv1
