There is alot of information on mixing birth control with thyroid medication. Simply, most information I came across says taking birth control meds will deplete your thyroid medication and lower thyroid function. May alter TSH testing. My daughter 15 yr old has been on prozac for two years. she also take birth control for mood swings. For the last month, she has been nauseated at school every Monday morning. I think it's anxiety, but wondering if the medications are causing it.

s because I started a low dose birth control pill or if my body is getting used to both the Prozac and/or the low dose pill. Anyone have any experience with Prozac for panic?

My PCM then put me on zoloft (not sure of the dosage but the lowest you could go) but I had a few problems with it and I seemed that I was able to control everything better on my own. I hope that you get some good advice and from what I understand it is perfectly okay for the baby because it doesn't pass the placenta.

I am not ready for a hysterectomy/ooverectomy yet. Is there a birth control pill out there with fewer side effects for depression. I take Effexor XR 225mg daily. I will start a Intensive Out-patient Program this week for depression.

but i would like to share this with you lamictal and trileptal do affect birth control pills and vise verse i.e. you can get pregnant using these as they reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills by 40%to 50% ,,,,,,,,,,also (which done me a great harm) the birth control pills reduce the effect of BP meds up to 50% also. i read on some site (but i cannot remember which) that birth control pills can affect most of psychiatric meds.

The only other medications I am on are Klonopin and Gianvi (birth control), neither of which should interact with the Prozac. Since the prozac, I have been vomiting, not sleeping, and feeling "out of it". The pharmacist I spoke with said it should take one more day to get out of my system. If I did in fact have serotonin syndrome, I would most likely either be dead by now or coming out of it, correct?

I have panic disorder that started 2 months after giving birth to my daughter in 11/ 2006. I almost died, had to recieve blood, etc. This is absolutly taking over my life, but my question is I started taking lortab 7.5 like 2 weeks ago for a impacted wisdom tooth that I cant get out until October 7th (go figure). Of course I have a fear of taking any new medications unless its my prozac 30 mg. I have been off my prozac for 1 and 1/2 and was doing pretty good until i started taking the lortab.

it gives me twitches, and makes me forgetful. Everyone I know who takes it has a ring of calcium like plaque in their toilets. If its doing that to my toilet, what's it doing to my body?

Since ive been on prozac, it took a serious turn around, once in a while the thoughts occur, but for the most part i have it under control. however im worried for my future, will i be on this medication for the rest of my life? my biggest concern is that when i get pregnant i can no longer take the prozac, and im afraid i may just lose it, because the way i was before medication was completely insane and the thoughts tormented my life. What do you think?

the depo is the culprit along with the prozac...most birth control methods have synthentic estrogen, estrogen keeps pounds on...then adding prozac, is another weight gainer. I was on synthetic estrogen, b/c pill, in my 20's, weighing 198lbs throughout 20's, oh, you are depressed, here is zoloft...more weight gain...sugar imbalance. hormone imbalance was the main issue not discovered until total hysterectomy. I then used more synthetic hrt and gained more weight...

I went off the Prozac and switched over to Lexapro. This has helped a lot with my general anxiety, and my psychiatrist has given me klonopin to help with the occasional panic that pops up. Prozac is approved to treat panic disorder, but it tends to have an "uppity" effect compared other antidepressants - and this can exacerbate anxiety.

I have seen commercials that say Prozac and a list of other antidepressants could cause birth defects. But just like any other medicine, I would talk to your doctor about it.

Hi, My daughter is on Adderall XR and Prozac, and insists that her doctor/practitioner told her that drinking alcohol was not an issue while on these meds. As a result, she goes out partying and getting drunk with friends. She has trouble sleeping, doesn't eat regularly, and is under a lot of stress from a new job. I have a hard time believing that such powerful drugs will not interact with alcohol, and that they are completely out of her system by evening.

This is common for most women but the degree how bad the depression can be much worse for some women. I'm SO sorry you are one of those. It's hard, sweetie. I understand. I have a question , My OBGyn gave me a shot in the butt ( birth control medicine ) I had it in either April or begining of May. I'm due in July 6th to go and see him for another shot. I had my 2 periods sense the shot but they where nothing like my periods before they where very ligh but atleast i bleed and had one.

your not supposed to play with birth control. i did it once a few years ago so i wouldnt get my period, and instead i got my "period" for pretty much the whole two weeks i was down in florida. theres nothing wrong with having a period on vaction. use tampons and lots of midol. just because it worked for your mom doesnt mean it will work for you.

For some reason I cannot get my period without being on birth control. I was on birth control for 8 years, and stopped it. I had no periods for a few months, felt very on edge, crying, moody, anxious etc. I started Tricyclen and got one period back, but had such severe anxiety on it that I started having to take Klonopin which I am still on now. I haven't had my period in two months.

I was a long term birth control, but one I can could on!! There is so many things that can go wrong with this IUD that it really scares me. Does anyone else have the Mirena? I don't care about bleeding or anything (still haven't had a period since I breastfeed)...but I was wondering if the cramping is SO severe as woman say it is. how many pple here have used Nortrel (norethindrone) for birth control to help ur endo.. the doctor just prescribed me this med. to help make it not so painful during menstual cycle.

What is the best birth control to consider I told my doctor the depo shot but I'm reconsidering it.
