The only thing to help me was Prozac 10mg once daily. It was like night and day. My PMS is torture for me and everyone else involved. I thank God my doctor knew the solution.

yes it could be PMS i also have the some depression and pain. So yes it is,unless if you have any other prob which can be relate to depression.

5 months I took klonopin sparingly and Prozac. I stayed on Prozac for my entire second pregnancy. My oldest son is fine. My younger son has ADHD but so do I as well as my husband so I don't think it came from the Prozac. Do a bit of research as far as studies go. When I had my kids, there were no studies. There wasn't even the Internet I don't think. I guess what I'm saying is you can have your sanity as well as children.

I have just stopped taking 80 mg prozac after about 6 mos. I liked the prozac because it made me so happy and carefree.But it just did not stop my jitters from anxiety. So I stopped prozac one day and began Cymbalta the next (30mg for the first week and then 60 mg for the past 31/2 wks. I do have less anxiety now with the Cymbalta but I also have lost that jovial attitude that I was begininning to enjoy with the prozac.

I take 10 mg of prozac daily. I take it at night before going to bed along with 2 tylenol pms because i have trouble falling asleep. The doc wanted me to up my dose to 20 mg and when i tried i was so tired and spaced out i couldnt function but i find the 10mg takes the edge off just enough to keep my sane. I have depression and anger and anxiety. i do not drink caffiene and find if i overidulge on bad carbs and white sugar i will get very edgy.

Hi. I was diagnosed 11 years ago and they put me on meds which worked great for me except one week out of the month. I told my pdoc that it felt like I wasn't on meds during that week and he said it was PMDD. They tried me on some prozac that I had a bad reaction to and said birth control pills were another option. I found that half a Xanax during the really rough spots works pretty good.

I am prescribed 10MG Buspirone 2 x day, 20MG Fluoxetine (generic for prozac) 1 x per day, and I had tried taking amphetamine 10MG (generic for adderalll) 2 x day but I felt it put me in "slow motion" and I wasn't sure I had ADD rather than just anxiety. I did some research on my Myers Briggs type ENFJ and with chronic stress I start to use my inferior introversion and overthink everything instead of asking for help, which is my preferred tendency.

Not sure. My doctor recommended prozac. OK, so pms or pmdd can't be that bad, right? Have you tried evening primrose oil or something like that? There are meds you can take for symptomatic relief of anxiety. Have you spoken to your doctor about your mood and menstrual cycle? They may be able to offer some suggestions.

I take a very small dose of Prozac (5mg daily), and I believe it probably does help. Although I am taking it in combination with the rest of my medication cocktail, so I suppose it's difficult to know for certain. It does take the edge of my "fainting phobias" though. So in short, it probably is helpful to some individuals. I suppose the opposite is also true though, seeing as how chemical-sensitive most people with Dysautonomia are.

Does anyone else here have this? I was going to try a new medication for it called prozac and was wondering if anyone else here with pmdd has tried it, and what their experience has been.

I suffer from really bad PMS. I see my doctor regularly and all that. But am in-between visits I'd ask him straight away. Some years ago I took Depo Provero, because the Provero really helped my hormones stay in check. In the past few years I haven't been on any birth control at all.

They did chest and lung X-rays my regular doctor has done blood work and everything came back fine so she said it is anxiety and put me on 10 mf of Prozac and 10 mg Singular. It has been 3 weeks and still having some difficulty breathing is that normal? I think it is getting better but then my anxiety kicks in. I have never had a problem with anxiety before. I was fine before the cold and now in this situation ever since.

ve NEVER heard of that happening. It could work in reverse, though. If, for whatever reason, such as a PMS symptom, your breast became sore and ached, that could lead to some anxiety. I take it this is something you've never experienced before? In which case I advise a visit to your doctor for a thorough breast exam. Do you do self-exams? Ever had a mammo? (I think you're too young to have started those) Please get an exam.

Hi, my niece is 20 years old and this week had suicidal thoughts and was hospitalized for 3 days in a MH unit. She's been suffering from some moderate depression/anxiety for some time, but specifically connected to her period, her PMS was terrible! Anyway, she'd been taking a BCP which they changed and Prozac to help the PMDD, but now after the hospitalization, they've put her on Geodon 20, Lamotrigine 25 then increase eventually to 100, and Bupropion 37.5 to increase to 75 daily!!

Bill said it pretty much and I agree with epiphiny about just increasing the prozac instead of changing. I was on lexapro but had taken prozac in the past and prefer it. No AD withdraw symptoms from prozac. Also, you would have to be off the prozac some period of time before you could begin another AD. Regarding the enlarged lymph nodes, yes had them also, under my arms and in my groin. I don't even remember when they finally disappeared. I'm glad you are starting to feel better!

I can only imagine with so many people out of work and the economy, that their are millions of people walking around deeply depressed. Should they be giving out Prozac when you fill your gas tank ?

My concern is similar to yours. My own came the 7 of that same month. The difference with me is I spotted two days in last week, I don't feel nauseous but I do feel tired and i'm getting cramps as well. I am trying to figure out if it's pms or a possiblity that I can be pregnant.

I had headaches and very tired, which are for me typical PMS signs. So I guess, yes, PMS and early pregnancy symptoms can be similar. I know many women have no pregnancy symptoms until 5 or 6 weeks, but I get them about 1 week before period would normally be due. As for Dr. test, yes a blood test will pick up HCG before a urine test (at least I am pretty certain it does).

Is it normal to jave sore nipples about 11 days before expected period? Can it be pms or perimenapaise? Im 43.

can anyone tell me if they have pms symtoms that are more intense due to hypothyroidism? i experience really bad swollen legs, ankles, flu like symtoms... i appreciate any feedback and or suggestions to ease thru PMS.
