My cat is a meower. She is nonstop. I took her to the vet and he gave her prozac but that made very little difference in the meowing and she is now pretty antisocial. What concerns me is that she meows using the litter box. I just wondering if she might be in pain because the meow sounds different than her normal meowing.
I took Prozac 20mg for 12 years, started out OK, it gave me lots of energy, I couldn't stop talking and I am a quiet person. Reasons for taking it soon resolved themselves, but I kept taking the meds, big mistake!! I noticed I was always hot when others were not, I would sweat even with moderate activity, never wore a jacket no matter how cold. My vision began to get worse, had to have glasses for reading and driving, I began to have hearing problems, turn the TV up more and more.
My cats have been completely normal. But if they were acting up I would get some feliway. It's like a little air freshener plug in except instead of air freshener it's a hormone that calms cats. It has helped my cats adjust to moving and it helped a friend of mine with her cat that started urinating in the bedroom. It can also help cats get along with each other.
Vet has prescribed cat prozac but we can't get it in him. Put it in his food and now he won't eat it. Vet recommending a behavioralist.
We call these "ADR" cats. ADR stands for "aint doing right". In other words, they are still eating and drinking, no significant vomting etc., they just "aint doing right". Diagnosing the cause is a challenge but requires a physical exam and lab tests (urine and blood work). If these tests are normal then depression can be the diagnosis and we will prescribe anti-depressents. Sometimes even prozac.

And sometimes starting new medication can cause a short term increase in anxiety. I had severe tingling in my arms from anxiety and had to get a CT scan to rule out a stroke. Amazingly, as soon as I found out my brain was okay, my tingling went away within a day or so. Continuing to worry about it can cause the symptoms to continue and even become worse. I recommend speaking to your doctor and trying to calm down and see if your symptoms go away.
Hi I have 4 cats 3 neutered cats and 1 pregnant female but today I found a poop in the cats litter tray it looked a bit red then I looked at it a bit more and it was blood and I don't even know what cat did the poop so I don't know which one to take to the vet do u know how I can find out which cat or was that did the poop and also can u tell me if it is serious or normal for a cat to have blood in its poop or could it be the pregnant one and it is normal as she is pregnant plz can u ans
The good news is the prognosis for cats with Squamous cell carcinoma is much better than it is for other types of cancer. If the cancer is treated early enough, squamous cell carcinoma in cats is usually treatable. In most cats with skin Squamous cell carcinoma, the prognosis following surgery is excellent. It is promising that the affected area is small. It is a much better prognosis than for nose, ears or mouth!
s supposed to send out something in the air that calms the cats and helps with urine marking. I tried it and it didn't work for me but my vet said it worked with her cat. She also recommended "Kitty Prozak" for my cat and said it could help with the peeing because she thinks she's a stressed out kitty. Crazy, huh? But I'm trying it. So far, no luck. We also bought the "Natures Miracle" from Petsmart.
