provigil lupus

hey guys. has anyone ever heard of,or taken provigil? kristens lupus doctor prescribed her provigil for the constant fatigue being that it is the most debilitating of all her symtoms minus the depression and anxiety which is becoing controlled with the treatent facility that she is in. i read a lot about it and it said that it was much less likely for it to be addictive. also, it doesnt work from the nervous system so it wont make her really jittery.

hey guys. thnk you for all the info about lupus and your encouraging words. her doctor that will be treating the disease is starting her on provigil. i did some research online and it seems to be pretty safe and has a lower probability of addiction is far less than the other options... the constant fatigue seems to be her biggest day to day issue. minus the depression and anxiety but that is getting much better since she went into treatment...

m glad your doc is treating the fatigue, but I wonder why the Ritalin instead of the usually more favored Provigil. Have you tried and failed Provigil or something? Yes, people have been helped by Ritalin and it's (better, I think) cousin Adderall for the symptoms of Cog Fog and the ADD it can cause. I'll be interested in hearing how well it works for fatigue. I thank the stars for you finding such a good doctor. They are a treasure!

I'm very interested in what you find out. As it is, I am currently wearing a 24 hour Holter monitor for an irregular heartbeat. I'm afraid the culprit may be my Provigil, and that it may be taken away. I don't know how I'll function without it.

Continued with more of the same - flareups w/ exertion - never in full remission. 2006: March-May - Unidentified pain in left side of face and aching in left upper teeth - negative CT scan of sinuses - negative dental problems. 2006: June - Severe pain in upper abdomen - almost went to emergency room, but didn't - negative CT scan of gallbladder. 2006: August - diagnosed with several food allergies including Gluten and Cow's Milk.

A decent GP would be the place to start ..... provigil is actually indicated for treatment of CFS .......... Its an expensive drug at 10.00 a pill prescription.....lots of insurance companies dont wish to cover it for that reason...... but it is being widely used now - - it will most likely be rescheduled before long because it has more of the shortcomings that straight amphetamines have than was thought during trials........

Back in 2000, neuro prescribed Provigil, saying "we used to use Ritalin for this" but that Provigil is now favored because of fewer side effects. Provigil was very helpful for both fatigue and cognition, although I didn't like the late-afternoon "letdown" effect I got with it. It was rather unpleasant.

A co-worker called this week with a question about our insurance - she was denied provigil/nuvigil, even though her doctor contacted the insurance company and appealed the decision. This is my first day on Provigil, taking 200 mg this morning. This is an attempt to replace Adderall 15 to 30 mg per day. Provigil walloped my blood pressure. It dropped by 10 points when I check 12 hours after taking the first dose. I've been lethargic most of today. I finally took an Adderall so I could function.

Is anyone familiar with the drug provigil or monafinil for enery and depression...? It is a drug for narcolepsy....wakes me up but not sure about use during tapering tabs...

Has anyone tried ProVigil? My sleep specialist suggested that I try it for the deep tiredness that I experience, even after getting great help with sleep from my CPAP machine. By the way, my trip to Seattle went very well. Though it is indeed very hilly, the cooler weather and low humidity made it easier to get around than here is muggy Baltimore. The weather seems to have a huge impact on this disease.

Is anyone taking Provigil? Has it helped you? What does it help? Do you have any side effects from it? I'm going to try it, after I get my results back from my next set of MRIs. Does it make the tremors worse? Thank you!

I started taking provigil yesterday and wow I cant believe the energy I scrubbed the shower down washed the cabinets down went food shopping then took dog to dog park for 4 hours then home and dinner usually just one of these activities wipes me out . I am glad that I have energy but I feel jittery my legs feel like they are going hundred miles and hour and I am stuttering badly in the am I think I am trying to talk faster then I can get it out.

I am currently taking provigil for my fatigue. The pharmacy had to order it so I was out for a few days. During those days I have been headache free. It seems that my headache has come back since I started taking it again. It isn't as bad as a normal one but it is enough to be irritating. I am curious as to whether anyone else has had this issue and if so did it go away after a while. It has really helped the fatigue but I would hate to think that the daily headaches are back.

s been an issue with me for more than 10 years, but the last 2 months I was really bad and just being awake for more than 5 hours wore me out. He prescribed Provigil and I've read some of the threads on it and it sounds very promising. My question is, is it something you can take daily indefinitely? Or are you supposed to just take it when you need it (which would be daily for me!) I hope my insurance will cover it because I'm not diagnosed with ms or anything.

I am in week 42 of tx and my trial doc prescribed 100 mg of Provigil to help with my fatigue (he can't/won't prescribe procrit). My hgb was at 9.4 as of last Friday after being in the mid 10's for a while. I am sleeping "ok" at night with Ambien CR, but have been getting close to worthless (mentally and physically) as far as work goes the past few weeks. Hi everybody, I went to my doctor today regarding my tireness and how I still have tremors in the legs and hands, He put me on provigil, he also shared with me that he feels when my thyroid is out of whack its causeing this attack on something that would otherwise was dorment? He wants to still rule out ms but if i dont have ms he wants to start searching for the other things he has in mind. He refused to say what!!!!!! wants me to focus on ruling out ms.

So now my Dr is thinking of prescribing Provigil. Has anyone tried this drug. If so does it work well for fatigue. I read that it helps with focus but I haven't read anything about it helping with tiredness.

After all this time, three years at least, my insurance company is no longer approving me for Provigil. This drug is the one thing that I've taken that has made a huge impact on the quality of my life. Without it, I'm unable to think clearly and I'm too fatigued to get up out of bed or off the couch. I may have to retire on disability because there's no way I will be able to teach. The drug also helps with the ADD (diagnosed after the MS as an adult, LOL).
