Provigil and tics

Common Questions and Answers about Provigil and tics

provigil

Avatar f tn I am on day 3 of Provigil and am having a very hard time of it. My ever-present hand tremors have gotten much much worse, to the point where it's hard to eat with forks and spoons and I keep spilling food. I'm also feeling wired, as in way too much caffeine, which I generally avoid because of how it makes me feel. My provigil dose is 100 mg in the morning, though I'm allowed up to 200. Yikes, 200 might be unbearable.
704043 tn?1298056844 i have tried provigil 2 much money- and samples of nuvigil - provigil 4 me worked the best- but now financialy need 2 ask about one of these others? which one or r they the same?? (alot cheaper) got a flyer from medicare or aarp tellin me this -that they r cheaper.. thanks anybody!!!
Avatar f tn I have tried provigil on and off for years. No side effects. It did keep me from that feeling I couldnt wake up for any reason. No insurance complained but now suddenly, they said because I made a late insurance payment, Im being canceled. I believe they dont want to pay for my provigil. I had sent the payment to Aetna Tri Net Cobra and did it online instead of mailing it, had I mailed it, it would have been postmarked. I got very little mail for days after the Memorial Holiday.
Avatar f tn s thread mentions this, and Shoshin describes it. I did try it and it had zilch effect. So did Provigil, for that matter. Yet since we're all so different what doesn't work for one can do wonders for the next person. At least Amantadine is very cheap, so it wouldn't be a big investment to give it a try.
Avatar n tn However, within the past year she has started displaying frequent motor tics and recently vocal tics. Her motor tics started with blinking/rolling her eyes. They have progressed to neck shrugs and hand twists. Lately, she makes a "un" gutteral sound. The vocal tics are occuring as often as 1-2 times a minute. Is there any connection between her early seizures and tics?
Avatar f tn ve been reading about food allergies/intolerence to certain foods causing Tourettes tics...some claim the tics completely stopped after getting off dairy and/or gluten.
Avatar m tn I have tourrette's and to be honest, whenever I drink, my motor tics (I blink a lot and shake my head a bit) seem to bother me the lease. Even when I just have a few beers and have a little buzz going, I hardly notice them at all. I've even done some experimenting where before I start drinking, I'll notice myself needing to twitch quite often. Then I'll have like 2 beers, I'll find myself not feeling the urge to tic at all.
Avatar m tn Hello, For the past 3+ weeks i've noticed in association with my frequent headaches (daily) i am getting a "tic" or twitch in the neck. It is quick and unnoticed by others (so far). The tic seems to mainly occur when i'm having or about to have a headache. I did go to the doctor regarding this (walk-in clinic) and she stated that there was a lot of strep going around and had to be the cause of my headaches with no explanation of my "tics".
Avatar f tn I have two children with Tourestte's - one with Asperger's. My dad has Tourette's. I had Tourette's as a kid - the tics aren't the big deal - the underlying problems behind the tics are. They see doctors that specialize in Tourette's. My children's tics did not start until 5 or 6. My son's tics which involved hand licking and sniffing pretty much disappeared by 9. My daughter had throat clearing and also a hand lick.
871962 tn?1244730028 The medications I have used are provigil and adderall, and I don't take them every day, so tracking them would be helpful. (I currently take provigil.) Tracking the degree of sleepiness is also helpful, since I am sleepy almost every day and a yes/no doesn't do much. Others with narcolepsy might benefit from tracking sleep paralysis but fortunately I don't have that problem. That being said, I really like all the trackers here.
Avatar f tn 5 years he has been involved with pot (it helps his tics) and then moved on to meth. He said he was very focused on the meth and it did not bother his tics. I am completely puzzeled how adderall could have bothered his tics and on meth did not????? He said he is sure his tics were not worse on Meth, he was around people while on the meth and they would have told him??
Avatar m tn other possibilities are chromosomal disorders like down syndrome, kleinfelter’s syndrome, etc. acquired causes of tics include drug induced tics, head trauma, stroke etc. Tests to rule out other conditions like EEG, hypothyroidism, MRI, urine drug screen for cocaine and stimulants. If a positive family history of liver disease, serum copper and ceruloplasmin levels can rule out Wilson’s disease. Consult a neurologist for a detailed evaluation and management. Take care.
449440 tn?1206887304 i have both of these and was wondering if there was a medication that would help with me having to twitch my nose while breathing out my nose real hard a lot it gives me headachs but the doc said the meds could give me even worse ticks
Avatar n tn He does this so hard that his neck has started to make a cracking sound and he is usually in tears by the end of the day. His father and our older son have minor motor Tics (blinking of the eyes, shrugging of the shoulders, opening of the mouth, etc.) and I have brought our 4 yr old to a Neurologist who diagnosed him with the Tic Disorder. I have not experienced such a bad Tic before and was wondering if anyone has any advice for treatment.
968560 tn?1307451498 Anybody know if there is any problems taking tramadol and provigil together?

612551 tn?1450022175 d spot tics on his fur and picked them off, and with my pocket scissors knife cut the little bug in half.
Avatar n tn THat just makes him rethink about those tics and then he starts sniffing and throat clearing again. Tics are tricky like that. Good luck.

Avatar n tn He is very good at keeping in his vocal and motor tics when in public and with his friends but now he cannot do that. His motor and vocal tics are worse than ever. He has lost his voice completely because of the loud vocal tics day and night and his whole body lifts off the ground/bed from his motor tics which occur every 4 or 5 seconds. He is exhusted and so am i as i have to hold him at night and reassure him that he will get better.
1100837 tn?1267668675 m experiencing from the RA and FMS with Provigil (for fatigue) and Effexor XR (for pain). What do you all think?
Avatar f tn Hello, you will want to have him sit down with a doctor and the decision will be made based on observation and asking you specifics about when it happens. Tics are involuntary, and can be suppressed only for short periods of time (after which the person usually experiences a 'burst' of tics). They tend to occur across settings and contexts, and can be vocal or motor. They have a jerky look to them and last only part of a second.
Avatar m tn hi everyone, i am a 22 year odl guy who has been dealing with multiple tics since i have been 6 years old, i struggle with bad neck and jaw cracking tics along with nose grunting and blinking. I have always tried everything except for medication to help, but not much has changed. \ My question is, lately i have been thinking about my brain quite alot and i have always had a problem when i drink there is something missing in my mind that tells me to stop.
Avatar n tn I wonder if it is just the normal coming and going of tics. Once thing I have learned about the tics is to be patient as they will pass. I know that is hard.....I can hardly stand when he starts a new tic, but they have always stopped (or moved on to another tic). I think he is on way too many meds. Risperdal made my normally too skinny son overweight too. I can't say for sure, but I think the Intuniv might have been the one that gave my son more tics???
