I have been on 400 mg of provigil for about 5 or 6 years now. I don't take it all everyday, I cut them in half... some days take both of em... depends on how draggy I am feeling. My mom who has high blood pressure also is on provigil for narcolepsy (SPEELED HORRIBLY WRONG!) She had a heart attack back in April and provigil was one of the first drugs the heart doctor put her back on.

hi ladies i do take alertec already for dfatigue i beleive ut is the same formulation as the provigil,i am taking three hundred mg 3times a day he wants me to up the bedtime dose to 400 so then i will be taking 1000 mg per day he said i could take 4000 per day but i will forgo that.

This is my first day on Provigil, taking 200 mg this morning. This is an attempt to replace Adderall 15 to 30 mg per day. Provigil walloped my blood pressure. It dropped by 10 points when I check 12 hours after taking the first dose. I've been lethargic most of today. I finally took an Adderall so I could function.

My Provigil (100 mg) runs about $250 a month . . . and I thought that was bad!! What dosage are you on? Do meds vary that greatly across the country? A representative from my insurance company actually recommended that we have the doctor "justify" the medication, and there was a chance it would then be covered. I am in the process of doing this. I used a pill cutter to cut the 200 mg pills into quarters. I started with 50 mg (1/4 of 200 mg pill) and took just 50 mg a day until it seemed like I wasn't having much side effects at all from that. What's the difference, why would someone take acyclovir twice a day when they could just take it once? Is there an advantage to taking it twice a day? Eventually a different insurance wanted Adderall twice a day, not three times a day, so I ended up on 30 mg twice a day. Adderall worked as well as Provigil. The tablets are scored so the twice a day Rx was no problem, I broke the tablets and took them as most effective for me. Many days I only took 45 mg, because by the time I felt a need for the last 1/2 tablet, it was too late in the day to take more stimulant.

) Anyway, I had previously had Amantadine, which did zilch, even at 200 mg. I am authorized to take 100 mg of Provigil, and can go to 200 if necessary. From what I recall, many of you take half a pill, so I guess that's 50. Have looked up the drug info online and it said side effects include nausea and anxiety, among other things, including a serious rash.. It also said that interactions with quite a lot of other drugs are possible.

I started taking provigil yesterday and wow I cant believe the energy I scrubbed the shower down washed the cabinets down went food shopping then took dog to dog park for 4 hours then home and dinner usually just one of these activities wipes me out . I am glad that I have energy but I feel jittery my legs feel like they are going hundred miles and hour and I am stuttering badly in the am I think I am trying to talk faster then I can get it out.

I have been on Nuvigil for a long time. My copay is $60 but it has increased managability of my daily life. The first month I barely slept so I cleaned out all the cabinets.... but after that things were more balanced. Take it early early in the day.

Has anyone on here taken Provigil? my doctor gave me a sample pack and told me to try it for my chronic fatigue. I was on a prednisone pack and felt fantastic until it started to taper off, now its my 2nd day off it and i feel like ****, and im supper tired... I tried 100 mg of the provigil, and i have had a screaming headache all day. (had to take tynelnol). anyone else have this?

The propanolol increases the Provigil in the blood. I only take 100 mg. of Provigil. I have tried other medicines for fatigue and they don't work for me. I don't have any adverse effect and it actually makes me feel human. Typically, the medicines used for attention deficit disorder or ADHD are used to combat fatigue.

Really detest that helpless feeling. Doctor called yesterday to suggest I only take the morning Riba dose (400 mg) and hold back on the evening dose (400 mg) until my next weekly blood draw. The Doc is raising my Procrit an additional 20,000 units from 40,000 but I haven't received it yet because my insurance won't OK it until Dec 8th. Wow. My daughter came to see me and started to cry. Four-hundred mg is generally as high as most doctors will go (as per the PDR, I believe), but I've known people who were prescribed on as much as 450 mg. Going higher than this recommended limit increases risk of seizures. Your doctor also needs to assess your general medical condition, any other meds that you may be on, etc. My personal experience is there's no difference between generic and brand-name, aside from cost (and co-pay).
