233622 tn?1279334905 Anyone taking this? I have high blood pressure and take medication for it. I also have tachycardia and am on a beta blocker. Since my bp and rapid heart rate is treated with medication should I be concerend about sides effects of Provigil?
Avatar f tn My regular NP was giving me Provigil, and when the new NP came in she stopped it due to not being a medication she liked giving. So my Pain Management doctor took it over, which my regular NP doesn't know about. Can I get in trouble or am I just worried over nothing?
Avatar f tn For the past months I would probably have benefited from an increased dosage of Provigil, but I dared not double the dose because it would also double the cost. I have opted to take the 100 mg, drink two cups of coffee, and take a nap as soon as I get home from work. I feel guilty enough as it is . . . three kids (two of them teens) and I am pulling from the family budget just to stay awake.
797195 tn?1240579823 I've been on both Provigil and Nuvigil. There is NO comparison. Nuvigil is hands down MUCH more effective to me than Provigil. Provigil always gave me a "rush" upper feeling. It felt like I was a little high. Provigil, on the other hand, is a slow and gradual release. I take it in the morning, and within an hour or so, I notice I can just concentrate better and am less tired. Its very gradual and lasts a lot longer than Provigil.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Bipolar II ten years ago. I have been taking 150mg wellbutrin, 1mg valium, and 15mg lamictal for it. I recognize that Bipolar I is more severe, however the usual dose for anyone with Bipolar disorder is between 25mg-200mg. Listen, doctors will truly mess up your life without intending to.
1088527 tn?1425313375 I started taking provigil yesterday and wow I cant believe the energy I scrubbed the shower down washed the cabinets down went food shopping then took dog to dog park for 4 hours then home and dinner usually just one of these activities wipes me out . 398059 tn?1447945633 I read that some of you use provigil or whatever and some other drugs for fighting fatigue. What are the good, the bad, and the ugly on using them?
Avatar f tn on the addictions forum someone brought up the topic provigil for energy, i have been clean for a while now but i have hep so my energy level is very low, and i also have under active thyroid so my question is this, when i researced this new drug i found """PROVIGIL is a federally controlled substance (C-IV) because it has the potential to be abused or lead to dependence. Please use PROVIGIL only as directed and keep in a safe place to prevent misuse and abuse.
429700 tn?1308007823 After all this time, three years at least, my insurance company is no longer approving me for Provigil. This drug is the one thing that I've taken that has made a huge impact on the quality of my life. Without it, I'm unable to think clearly and I'm too fatigued to get up out of bed or off the couch. I may have to retire on disability because there's no way I will be able to teach. The drug also helps with the ADD (diagnosed after the MS as an adult, LOL).
Avatar f tn Ugh! I've been on provigil for the last couple of months, and have felt better than I have in a year and a half. Then, I realize that getting up at 4:30 in the morning is NOT a norm for me. I stopped the provigil for a couple of days and BAM!, I feel awful again. Now I'm wondering, have I been manic(I am bi-polar)? Is this just the chronic fatigue again? My BP goes up when I'm on the provigil and I don't even take my midodrine.
518001 tn?1212419235 Is anyone taking Provigil? Has it helped you? What does it help? Do you have any side effects from it? I'm going to try it, after I get my results back from my next set of MRIs. Does it make the tremors worse? Thank you!
Avatar f tn However as the week went by I noticed that my fatigue started to return and increasing got worse. I figured it was because the medication was leaving my system. Friday I took my second dose. (1/2 dose) I didn't get the same boost in energy that I had the first week. I am more tired than I was last week. (I slept until 1 Saturday and 11 after 11 Sunday) and I think my brain fog is returning. I am also on Provigil. 100mg/day. I don't think it helps at all. Is this pretty much normal.
Avatar m tn I've been on provigil for a year and a half now- as needed (my job requires shift work). I also take pristiq for anxiety in which I've had for many years. In the last six months I've been dealing with w lot of troubling events that have taken a toll on me, my emotions, my stress level. In the last month or so I've noticed that I get really bad anxiety/nervousness about ten minutes after taking my provigil. It never used to do that before.
Avatar f tn How do I suggest to my PCP that I would like Provigil or Adderall for my EXTREME fatigue, to the poing of falling asleep while driving, without seeming to be drug seeking.? I have got to have something, I drive for a living! I am so afraid of having a wreck, but I can't tell my job I have this problem. I have to have this job for the insurance, since if I went on disability I couldn't get medicare for 2 years, and how do you pay for insurance on the pittance you get for disability?
