provigil

Avatar f tn If you want to hear more about my thoughts or experiences with Provigil, I have a great deal of information on it--just send me a message. Keep me posted on how the MRI goes!
429700 tn?1308007823 After all this time, three years at least, my insurance company is no longer approving me for Provigil. This drug is the one thing that I've taken that has made a huge impact on the quality of my life. Without it, I'm unable to think clearly and I'm too fatigued to get up out of bed or off the couch. I may have to retire on disability because there's no way I will be able to teach. The drug also helps with the ADD (diagnosed after the MS as an adult, LOL).
1710955 tn?1309446473 If you take Provigil your amitriptyline dosage may need to be decreased - but maybe not. You and your doc just need to be aware of the possible need to rebalance. Deb, I suspect Provigil actually increases your plasma level of propanolol. This doesn’t mean you can’t take them together. It does mean you needed to be monitored when you started the Provigil and need to be aware again if you change your dose or stop using Provigil. Sorry all!!
Avatar n tn I still feel pressure in my temples and forhead even though I have stopped taking Provigil. Can you have withdraws from Provigil?
1088527 tn?1425313375 I started taking provigil yesterday and wow I cant believe the energy I scrubbed the shower down washed the cabinets down went food shopping then took dog to dog park for 4 hours then home and dinner usually just one of these activities wipes me out . I am glad that I have energy but I feel jittery my legs feel like they are going hundred miles and hour and I am stuttering badly in the am I think I am trying to talk faster then I can get it out.
797195 tn?1240579823 I've been on both Provigil and Nuvigil. There is NO comparison. Nuvigil is hands down MUCH more effective to me than Provigil. Provigil always gave me a "rush" upper feeling. It felt like I was a little high. Provigil, on the other hand, is a slow and gradual release. I take it in the morning, and within an hour or so, I notice I can just concentrate better and am less tired. Its very gradual and lasts a lot longer than Provigil.
398059 tn?1447945633 I read that some of you use provigil or whatever and some other drugs for fighting fatigue. What are the good, the bad, and the ugly on using them?
Avatar f tn How do I suggest to my PCP that I would like Provigil or Adderall for my EXTREME fatigue, to the poing of falling asleep while driving, without seeming to be drug seeking.? I have got to have something, I drive for a living! I am so afraid of having a wreck, but I can't tell my job I have this problem. I have to have this job for the insurance, since if I went on disability I couldn't get medicare for 2 years, and how do you pay for insurance on the pittance you get for disability?
429700 tn?1308007823 I don't have MS (so it appears), but I have quite a few similar symptoms, including dizziness and the related brain fog and fatigue. Back in 2000, neuro prescribed Provigil, saying "we used to use Ritalin for this" but that Provigil is now favored because of fewer side effects. Provigil was very helpful for both fatigue and cognition, although I didn't like the late-afternoon "letdown" effect I got with it. It was rather unpleasant.
565254 tn?1224716453 I am currently taking provigil for my fatigue. The pharmacy had to order it so I was out for a few days. During those days I have been headache free. It seems that my headache has come back since I started taking it again. It isn't as bad as a normal one but it is enough to be irritating. I am curious as to whether anyone else has had this issue and if so did it go away after a while. It has really helped the fatigue but I would hate to think that the daily headaches are back.
797195 tn?1240579823 I even feel the effects of the Provigil the next day (though not nearly as strong). Actually the Provigil fades out about 8 hours after I take it, but I sure do sleep well that night! The next day, I have slightly more energy than usual. I love Provigil, but, due to the chest fullness, can't use it very often so that is why I was considering Adderall (I'm also ADD). In your opinion, how did the Adderall compare to the Provigil in terms of fatigue reduction?
Avatar f tn For the past months I would probably have benefited from an increased dosage of Provigil, but I dared not double the dose because it would also double the cost. I have opted to take the 100 mg, drink two cups of coffee, and take a nap as soon as I get home from work. I feel guilty enough as it is . . . three kids (two of them teens) and I am pulling from the family budget just to stay awake.
Avatar f tn I dont know if this is accurate or not, but I thought it should be shared. I just read this in the "Health" Section of Foxnews.com I have heard a lot of really good things about Provigil, although I've never used it. It was recommended to me many times though. Just some food for thought. Seems EVERYTHING comes with its own set of dangers attached.
Avatar m tn Has anyone on here taken Provigil? my doctor gave me a sample pack and told me to try it for my chronic fatigue. I was on a prednisone pack and felt fantastic until it started to taper off, now its my 2nd day off it and i feel like ****, and im supper tired... I tried 100 mg of the provigil, and i have had a screaming headache all day. (had to take tynelnol). anyone else have this?
Avatar f tn How often did you take the Nuvigil? My dosage is a 150 mg tablet and I am cutting it in half. If I take it everyday I feel "different". It hasn't changed my sleep patterns at this point but I don't take it on weekends if I am just hanging out at home and I usually only take it every other day during the week.
Avatar m tn A decent GP would be the place to start ..... provigil is actually indicated for treatment of CFS .......... Its an expensive drug at 10.00 a pill prescription.....lots of insurance companies dont wish to cover it for that reason...... but it is being widely used now - - it will most likely be rescheduled before long because it has more of the shortcomings that straight amphetamines have than was thought during trials........
Avatar f tn I am taking an anti-depressant and my Doctor is thinking I might benefit from this medication Provigil. Has anyone tried this medication? I would appreciate any information.
Avatar f tn DO NOT JUST GO ALONG WITH INCREASING YOUR DOSAGE SIMPLY BECAUSE YOUR DOCTOR TELLS YOU TO, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE DOING JUST FINE ON THE DOSAGE THAT YOU'RE ON. If I knew then what I know now, I truly believe I would have saved myself a decade of riding this rollercoaster of misery and a significant decrease in quality of life. Seriously, part of the education of a doctor should be to learn about withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar f tn Ugh! I've been on provigil for the last couple of months, and have felt better than I have in a year and a half. Then, I realize that getting up at 4:30 in the morning is NOT a norm for me. I stopped the provigil for a couple of days and BAM!, I feel awful again. Now I'm wondering, have I been manic(I am bi-polar)? Is this just the chronic fatigue again? My BP goes up when I'm on the provigil and I don't even take my midodrine.
479581 tn?1317757488 Provigil to release their patient, or whatever. Most of the time it take 2 -3 years, but Provigil has been out since 99, with no one else scoping up the generic type. I can't afford 200 bucks a month on on pill...
