Avatar f tn I'm 24 weeks and my acid reflux is kicking my butt. Any tips to help with it?
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with acid reflux 6 days ago and just began taking Protonix(6 days ago). I also take Atenolol twice daily for SVT for the last four years. My biggest issue now is I have been having difficulty swallowing. For several months sometimes when I would swallow food/medicine would feel as though it was going up instead of down when I would initially swallow. I was not having heartburn or feeling of esopgagus spams at that time.
Avatar f tn I was on Protonix for awhile for acid reflux, then was switched to Nexium, which I still take. The Inderal, I think, is a beta blocker, which makes heartburn worse. So does aspirin. That's probably why you were given Protonix. I don't take a beta blocker nor do I use aspirin, Advil, or Aleve because they make reflux worse. I do take one other med that causes mild reflux, but I have to take that for the rest of my life. So, I take a low dose of Nexium.
Avatar f tn I just get nervous because I still get a discomfort way up high under my breastboneand occasionaly in my back but my Dr said this could be acid reflux. My endescopy also showed that I have gastritis which I know is painful as well.
Avatar f tn Many experience heartburn symptoms from too little acid, and this may help, but for those that have too much acid, adding more acid it may appear to at first, but over all it will only add to the amount of acid u have....it is not a fix. Find out which u have too much, or too little as it can feel the same.
Avatar f tn What do you ladies take for acid reflux? I'm 31 weeks and a few days and the past three weeks I've been waking up from a dead sleep vomiting from acid reflux. It gets up into my nose. The lining of my throat is burning. I have a cold right now too and asthma so vomiting and coughing is literally killing my throat. I just woke up from sleeping and threw up so badly I peed my pants. I'm so over this. I cant have Zantac because I'm super allergic.
Avatar f tn Anyone out there on Protonix? I was diagnosed with acid reflux and was put on Nexium which helped slightly with my burping but I was still getting stomach aches. I went for an abdominal ultrasound, endescopy and CT scan with IV contrast and all came back fine. My Dr just switched me to Protonix.
Avatar f tn I have acid reflux and take protonix occassionally when needed...recently I had a bad scare where I suddenly starting gasping for air...I have had similar attacks in the past, but this one was major as I felt like I would stop gasping....There was no warning before the attack....It did subside...Is this common with acid reflux and what do I do when this happens? I did over indulge with food over the holidays...I am not over weight and I do exercise..
Avatar f tn Anybody on here taking protonix for acid reflux. Since I started my third trimester I've been having the worst acid reflux/gas EVER! I can't sleep, I can't eat. The third trimester seems to be worst for me than the last two. Was thinking about taking some protonix that I have from my job but I read its a class B drug with no proven side effects to baby.
Avatar f tn I know supplements are difficult to get into your system for lack of acid in the stomach when you take protonix....but is it the same for iron rich foods? Would the stomach also block iron and other nutrients you get from food since it blocks supplements as well? If so, how can I take the acid reflux meds but still get the nutrients my body needs?

270554 tn?1289511647 Do they have withdrawal affects? I'm currenting being treated for acid reflux, but I believe its bile reflux from gallbladder surgery so they would only make it worse... Are there any withdrawal affects and what are they?
2121656 tn?1395674749 I started taking 25 mgs. of synthroid on Sept. 4th, and right away I've had relieve from a lot of my symptoms, including indigestion & heartburn. Probably is the placebo effect. Either way I'm still symptom free except for the heartburn, that's actually worse than before taking synthroid. I am having it all day. Therefore, I'm not sure if the synthroid is the cause or if it may be caused from me drinking my morning coffee without taking the protonix.
Avatar f tn t even walk because every step is agonizing torture. Am I going crazy? What could this be? Does anybody else get rib pain associated with acid reflux?

Avatar n tn I am a 20 year old male, about 6'1, 175 lbs. For the past couple months I've been bothered by sharp pains, mostly in my lower left side in the area between my belly button and the inner corner of my hip bone. However, it also occurs sometimes on the opposite side in the same area. It seems to happen at random times and does not seem to worsen after I eat. I have been urinating without problem and staying regular as well.
2899052 tn?1436831245 He also said that I have acid reflux. Also it is because I used to overeat heavy meals (dinner) often. He gave me prescription pills called Omeprazole bi carb (PPI) medication. It gave me very painful headaches as side effects and I stopped taking them. Then he gave me different pills called Protonix (PPI) medication. One year later, the symptoms haven’t gone away. I still have bad hoarseness and the phlem or saliva sticks in my throat! It worried me so I had to go to a new ENT doctor.
Avatar f tn look for alkaline diets on google, give it a try for a week eating 70% alkaline foods and 30% acid, i was suffering for extreme acid reflux, i changed my diet and stop using 40 gram nexium , i am out of nexium now and feel better than ever, no bloating, no reflux and my throat feels like singing!!! i hope it works for you! god bless!
Avatar m tn I am currently taking Protonix 40mg twice daily (morning and night) 30 minutes before meals. Typically, the drugs will work for about a week or so, and the symptoms will return during week 2. I have an an endoscopy, stomach emptying test, barium swallow, sonogram, and Bravo PH test. The only results I have were that my Bravo PH test showed very high PH levels in my esophagus, but I was having more acid reflux those two day than I ever have had before.
Avatar m tn (sorry for any misspellings) (also my other question I posted on here goes into a deeper explanation about my vision problems and what I thought caused it before realizing this, if you want to go look or need more info about that) I have been taking protonix a dangerous PPI pill, for my horrid acid reflux, for years. I recently learned that this pill was so dangerous.
Avatar n tn You may be able to eliminate acid reflux by simply going gluten-free, which is harmless for you and the baby.
