Been on basicaly every med on the market and recently I am on 2x daily protonix which has completley gotten rid of the nausea. My bloating (indigestion?) and belching throughout the day has gotten worse. It gets worse by the end of the day and after I eat dinner sometimes lasts for an hour.
I also just started a new weight lifting routine to try and counter this weight loss I had in the past 3 years (dropped from 150 to like 135). I started this the same time as my 2x daily protonix.
My Internal Medicine doctor advised the ulcer is being aggravated by the acid which is causing nausea and pain, the Zantac was not strong enough. She prescribed Protonix 40mg twice a day, I have been on that and feel great; no fatigue, no nausea, no pain! Will be on this regimen for 30 days and then slowly cut back dosage to maintenance level of 40mg once a day every other day.
Ok so I had a upper Gi test done tuesday and they found I had little gastritis of the stomach and esophagitis and that my stomach was making to much acid. I been on protonix for 2 weeks now and after every meal and bedtime I take mylanta. I still feel sick all the time. Also i have very smelly green poop??????? How long can this take sometimes. what else can i rule out? Why could I be making to much stomach acid???? Please help its been three weeks a 2 days.
m not getting relief with chiropractic care or anything else for that matter, I started thinking about medication and side effects. The protonix s the only thing that could possibly be the culprit. I went off of it two days ago, took omaprazole instead, and have had a 50% reduction in the pain. Has anyone else experienced this. I am reluctant to mention it to the doctor because I'm afraid he will dismiss it. I want to be sure before I talk to him.
About a year ago I was experiencing heartburn, I was diagnose with H.pylori, I was given antibiotics,protonix, I was given protonix for 3 months only, as soon as I stopped taking the protonix, heartburn return. I had an egd done which was negative for H.pylori, now I am experiencing nausea after I eat, maybe 3 times a week, when I experience nausea it usually ruins the rest of my day, I am not taking anything for nausea.
I take Protonix to control my gerd. An allergist recommended this and it does seem to make a difference. Does anyone else take these types of meds to control their gerd and, ultimately, help with asthma? I cannot get Protonix any longer through my health insurance and was wondering if someone took something else as effective. Prilosec and Nexium do not have as good as effect as Protonix for me. This helped with the pain and the nausea, however I was still getting bloated daily, and having bowel issues such as occasional constipation. I went to a GI specialist, who ordered another upper endoscopy. The results came back with mild inflammation, but all of the biopsies were normal. She switched me to 40 mg Protonix once a day. I tried that for about two weeks, and my symptoms were getting worse.
I have had it before 2 years ago but it went away. Im back on the PPI protonix as it flared up again. this time it is different as i am finding blood in stool, my stomach is really bloated and i also have a hard spot in the middle of my stomach above my belly button. The protonix is not working as well as it did 2 years ago. I am slightly anemic but doctor said i was born with it and it is not significant. I also have been having bouts of fatigue.
I have no history of bad anxiety and racing heart like this.. So I decided to stop taking the Protonix...the last time i took it was thursday and i still feel like im in hell.... You would think I am detoxing from some other hard core drug and I havent taken anything else.. I am still so naseous, gagging, stomach pains, heart palps..and I am def not pregnant or anything like that so I cant find any other cause for all of this..
Is there anything i can do to get this medicine out of my system.
Hi from what I understand protonix is an rx while prilosec is over the counter meds......
so I do believe that the protonix is stronger.I am not a dr, just going on what I do know, I know both r PPI and work much the same way.....Ur dr should be able to say y he changed ur meds...everyone is different and react to the meds differently....maybe bcuz the prilosec dtopped working instead of changing meds he should check to see y u r making so much acid.

i have been having pain in the epigastric and under the right rib cage. i've also been having terrible heartburn, nausea and vomiting for about the past month. My liver enzymes are elevated, an ultrasound came back negative for gall stones. My HIDA scan showed an EF of 96%. Is there anything i can do to stop the pain and nausea. It happens every time i eat and it doesn't matter what i eat either i've changed my diet to low fat small meals but the pain is still there.
they did when i first had it diagnosed- somac and the nexium, both made me feel.. funny.. like food was staying in my stomach too long. so i stopped taking them.
Tried prilosec, Protonix and aciphex. Now on dexilant 30 mg. Incredible nausea and headache. Am trying once every other day. So take in evening and next day very sick. Day after when don't take the pill feel much better but acid taste starts to come back. Why do these drugs cause nausea. Tried pepcid and Zantac and got very bad headaches. Any suggestions? Don't know where to turn.
p.s. Ativan should be carefully taken though so I would ask your doctor about it. And I take it for anxiety, not nausea. But I've noticed that they use it for nausea too. I just don't know for temporary use or long term use and I would hate for you to become addicted to the stuff so yeah I would check with your doctor if interested in ativan.
Was diagnosed with delayed gastric emptying and given Protonix. I have had 2 pyloric dilatations but I still have pain in the upper abdominal and chest areas behind the sternum. The regurgitation is better. GI and cardiology cleared me for any overt issues, but I'm having abdominal and chest pain, nausea and vertigo that starts with a strange wave or flushing in my belly and travels upward. It gets really nauseous and I can hear my heart pulsating in my ears. The vertigo is the worst.
ikeep having these sharp pains right around the lower part and upper part of my belly button also on my left side i was tested positive for stool in my blood still seeing dark spots in my stool nausea still there taking zofran for nausea and protonix for the abdominal discomfort doesnt seem to help a whole lot had a ct scan and everything came back normal im going to a specialist for a upper and lower endoscopy any advise whats bothering me
I have been to the hospital twice with two ekgs done normal and a lot of blood work normal I have bad shoulder pains leg pains arms ache and neck hurts when I drink or eat anything my chest hurts and my back hurts can stress and gets cause this I get headaches daily and the pain in shoulders and arms daily
Looking to get pointed in the right direction here. I have constant nausea (all day everyday). Stomach feels full of liquid all the time (I can hear it slushing around). Bloated feeling in stomach and intestines. Recurring tenderness in ascending colon area. Headaches and what seems to feel like dry or tired eyes. Had an abdominal ultrasound and results are a mild fatty liver. I have high cholesterol. Had upper endoscopy and diagnosed with gastritis but I don't get heartburn or sore throat.

I thank God that I had an abdominal ulrasound and cat scan with and without IV contrast and all was clear. I was so afraid that I had pancreatic cancer. My Dr told me that the CT scan was the best test for the pancreas. I just get nervous because I still get a discomfort way up high under my breastboneand occasionaly in my back but my Dr said this could be acid reflux. My endescopy also showed that I have gastritis which I know is painful as well.
