observation if another biopsy done in 04/09 shows increase in positive cores to 3 or more or if any one core shows 50%+ positive for cancer? Also, is there any current opinion regarding use of Avodart or Proscar while in Watchful Waiting mode? I understand there would be a likely reduction in PSA, but that new PSA baseline be established and return to monitoring of PSA velocity. Not sure what, if any, benefit this would provide.
Propose that your partner try Avodart. I think it really helps with prostate enlargement. That is what the television commercials say anyhow.
Unfortunately it also can cause a large reduction in semen production.
AND women wanting to become pregnant should NEVER touch the pill as it can cause birth defects if they are exposed at all to it.

Well before this I use to have a physical problem cause i use to do alot of drugs and lived an unhealthy lifestyle which started this all. However I got things back no normal and was experiencing rock hard erections again. I still wasnt getting morning wood though for some reason, and some guy told me that sp was the answer to his sex drive and mornin wood.
I DID suffer PNEUMONIA lays summer which was really bad but I recovered so they csay. I do NOT use Steroids. I do nOT use illegal drugs. I dont have cancetr or blood markers that would incdicate cancer. I DO have 6 heart stents but last scans shw mo new heart issues...they relwased me without admissio nand didnt find a cause..I am wonderin if the ER cath SCARRED up my bladder neck so nbadly I cant feel anything and less semen comes out? I HAD a micitration study-it shows NARROW bladder neck..

5 days later he had prostrate problems and ended up leaving the hospital with a catheter. He ended up with an infection and after taking proscar and flowmax for 5 months (and using the single use catheter) he went in for an opening of the urethra. He since has had recurrent bladder infections, terrible gas and bloating. He is still on nitrofurantion (2 pills a day for 5 days) one pill a day for 30. He has no relief. He is up every night with terrible pains.
Examination of prostate (physical) revelaed no alarm. Blood tests in general are normal. I have hypogonadism and use AXIRON..but the loss of sensation extends to SEXCUAL as well (almost no feeling there and DIFFICULT to ejaculate.if i do almost nothing comes out. What is going on? NO ONE suspects cancer (A pevious micitrition study in 2014 revelaed a sdcarred bladder neck..but no indications of stone blockage in bladder or cancer. NO discoloration on penis or area.
If his bladder contracts, and/or there is an obstruction, and pills are ineffective, then he may certainly need the TURP or a similar procedure to relieve the obstruction. The alternative is continued intermittent catheterization, while adding a second drug Proscar to try to shrink the prostate and get him voiding. This is not the best alternatives because studies show that prostates respond best to there drugs like proscar if they are 40 grams or larger and it takes 6-12 months to work .
BTW, I noticed one of the treatments for this condition is beta blockers, which I am already taking daily (for PVC), along with alpha blockers and Proscar for BPH. Thanks again for your input.

re not taking any meds that may influence your hormone levels, e.g. finasteride (brand names Propecia, Proscar) for male pattern baldness. Always consult your doctor before you decide to try any new treatment or natural supplement. Good luck!
Taking Viagra clearly works, try a small amount (cut up a 100 mg in 4 or 8 roughly equal pieces) and see how it works for you. I used Proscar (Propecia) years ago and definitely felt it killed my libido. It does dramatically lower DHT, a sex hormone *supposedly* only needed during your growing years - but nobody has ever explained how a crucial sex hormone just suddenly becomes unimportant when you turn 18. Try generic minoxidil to keep your hair instead.
I have sought out a urologist who said he detected a high count of white blood cells. I was prescribed procrit or proscar for an extended period of time. I did not complete the required dose because it wasn't helping. I now i have infected my sex partner on a couple of different occassions. she gets treated and cured but i can not. My symptoms include burning and an itching feeling on the tip of my penis.
