ve seen mentions of high protein diets that may cause this and seeing as my diet is a high protein one, that could be the cause. One of the urologists first concerns was a semen analysis to get done, which came back completely normal. I guess it could be due to the propecia(Finasteride) however it's nothing of concern, according to him.

Since telogen effluvium is reversible and self-limiting, I think you should hold off on the Propecia for 3 months and see what happens. If the hair is falling out a lot less, then I would continue to wait for the hair to re-grow from its telogen loss. You don't really have anything to lose--male-pattern hair loss wouldn't leave you substantially balder in 3 months anyway, and you can always reconsider the use of Propecia then.

I am wondering if this could be the reason we were unable to conceive all those years and if the Propecia had affected his sperm quality to the point it could not become a healthy embryo? Have you heard anything like this?

An opiate is an opiate so switching from vicodin to percocet will not help. Sure, it will get you off the vicodin but you will then be hooked on percocet. Our brain can't tell the difference between the two. All it cares about is that you're filling the receptors.
