Avatar m tn If you experience side effects or if you plan to discontinue it, it is best that you discuss this with your doctor, who knows your medical history and the management plan of your condition. Side effects of proscar include trouble getting or keeping an erection, decrease in sex drive, decreased volume of ejaculate, and ejaculation disorders. Take care and do keep us posted.

Avatar m tn I had quite severe BHP and taking proscar and cardura. Had always difficulty urinating. I tried saw palmetto and it made me unable to urinate at all. I had to go to hospital.

250398 tn?1225263291 55 year old male. I have BPH and take Proscar and Cardura XL. Having some lower abdominal soreness and have noted cloudy urine and now a whitish discharge from my penis. Began Bactrim and Cipro yesterday, along with Ibuprofen. I am working out of the country, so tracking down a Urologist or even a general practice doctor that speaks good enough English for me to understand, and for them to understand me, is a challenge. So, am I on a good track? Prostatitis? Bladder/Kideney infection?
Avatar n tn 78), and he did a Uroflowmetry and it was normal and he told me not to worry about it and no medication is required. 3-three years later............, i started having more dribble of urine , I went to the doctor and again he did PSA test it was (1.21), and no treatment was suggested. 4-two years later ..........my symptoms got more worse and i went to the doctor , he did a DRE and told me the size of the prostate is bigger than normal , he did a PSA test it was (1.
Avatar m tn I am 67 years old, and have gradually developed some symptoms which I think suggest BPH. [not on Proscar etc.]. However, my PSA is now 1,8.[risen 0.5 over 18 months] Prior PSA: 05/11 =1.3 11/10= 1.1 04/10= 1.1 04/09= 1.2 10/08= 1.1 01/08= 0.9 11/07= 0.8 07/07= 1.1 12/05= 0.8 01/05= 0.6 07/04= 0.7 10/02= 0.9 08/02= 0.9 05/98= 0.9 DRE -no nodules What is likelihood this rise represents Ca, and what is next suggestion? Thanks!
Avatar m tn Even if you stopped or switched to another type you could still have floppy iris syndrome. If it works keep on it and tell your eye surgeon. Special techniques and instruments and drops make FIS not the problem it use to be when we first saw it.
250398 tn?1225263291 Currently on Cardura and Proscar. Suggestions?
Avatar f tn s for benign prostate enlargement, and the results were rather mixed. Then Proscar came along and pretty much ended that debate. Saw Palmetto has faded into the background - it's possible you affected your DHT levels, but it will definitely only be temporary. I quit Proscar for that reason, best not to fool around with sex hormone levels, in my opinion.
Avatar f tn My advice would be to seek treatment for your HCV infection first, then try to figure out causes of your infertility and seek assistance if needed. Did you know that medical procedures like abortions often could cause female infertility too? However, only infertility specialist would be able to find real causes of your infertility problems. Hepatitis C would not be a major player here.
Avatar m tn It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar m tn I am 77 years old and have been taking Flomax for about 2 years. I have had cool thermo therapy for enlarged prostrate about 2 years ago. Unrination is really no problem anymore, but I have a problem with getting erections and now when I ejaculate I have no semon in me. Also have a runny nose mostly in the a.m. What is your advice and opinion for this problem. Thank you This discussion is related to use of Flomax.
Avatar m tn Be very careful on what you read about infertility and HSV. Much of it is hype by sham HSV 'cure' or treatment products. Men can have HSV and have normal sperm counts. For some men, a reduced sperm count does occur as a result of HSV and antivirals do assist in restoring the count. It does not follow that all men with HSV have infertility problems. You are more likely to experience infertility from other causes than HSV.
Avatar f tn Congratulations on trying to conceive! I was being treated with Metformin for my diabetes risk and irregular cycles. For women, Metformin can also make them super fertile (odd side effect) while regulating blood sugars. I'm not familiar with men and fertility issues, so I did a quick search and found this: Male Infertility & Diabetes DCS: What about diabetes and infertility as it is related to males? Does it cause fertility issues in men, too? Dr. Falcone: Yes.
1418727 tn?1282487078 ve read in this website, and others, that that can cause infertility, or implantation failure. I am scared since I just want to be able to carry my own baby and it seem at this point that it might be impossible. Please, please I ask that you give me all the feedback possible becasue right now the research I've done tells me that I might never be able to have kids. thank you in advance.
Avatar m tn Im not a doctor but had prostate cancer and 45 radiation treatments. Im ok now and my psa has been steady at .08. Well i guess you already know about retrograde ej. My psa was 4.7 and had a biopsey and discovered it. Ive learned that the best warning sign is called a spike in the psa. Like from 1 to 4. I dont see a spike with yours. Just keep checking with your doctor.
Avatar f tn Susten is to be given only when there is a documented deficiency of this hormone(progesterone) leading to infertility called inadequate luteal phase infertility. It is only approved for women undergoing IVF or other reproductive techniques. This medicine can result in intrauterine death or spontaneous abortion.
Avatar n tn During the last two years large biopsies were not taken (even if PSAs have ben followed and free-PSA has been between 6 and 9) but when I think the April results, I am still puzzled??Should I ask a re-evaluation of these biopsies? How likely it is that I am really 'clean' of cancer under such tumor volume conditions?
Avatar f tn The best thing you can do is take good care of yourself, eat healthy food, stay hydrated, keep active and busy. Stay away from sugar, soda, and simple carbs. Do not consume caffeine at least 6 hours prior to bedtime.
Avatar f tn My current insurance pays for all testing but no treatment. And they consider testing during a treatment cycle to be treatment. We are switching to my husband's insurance in November and it covers $30,000 infertility (if only I had known this when opting for COBRA when my job ended). Anyway, I will have to check to see what exactly they cover. Good luck to everyone!!
Avatar f tn B12 can help to balance your hormones and can help to increase your luteal phase. What CD day are you on, and what CD does AF normally fall on?
Avatar f tn I have been doing a lot of research and found that the varicocele may actually be the reason for his infertility as it is quite big. What I am not sure about is whether it would cause his hormone levels to go high. Does anyone know whether varicocele cause high fsh and lh levels? If my husband had to do the surgery and he manages to obtain a sperm count, is it possible for him to relapse back to azoospermia?
