Propranolol inderal

Common Questions and Answers about Propranolol inderal

inderal

Avatar f tn Results vary among people, but, for migraines, I was taking 240 mg Inderal LA (Propranolol slow release) every day, in divided doses, I was fine. One site I just viewed suggested dosing as 40mg twice a day of Standard Propranolol or 80 mg Slow Release once a day. For the Standard Propranolol, they listed 640 mg as the maximum per day, in divided doses, so you're clearing that by a wide margin.
778037 tn?1377986200 The efficacy of propranolol in the treatment of a migraine attack that has started has not been established, and propranolol is not indicated for such use. The initial dose is 80 mg Inderal daily in divided doses. The usual effective dose range is 160 mg to 240 mg per day. The dosage may be increased gradually to achieve optimum migraine prophylaxis. If a satisfactory response is not obtained within four to six weeks after reaching the maximum dose, Inderal therapy should be discontinued.
Avatar m tn Does anyone know how propranolol effects exercise? I do triathlon and train using a heart rate monitor. I am wondering if I would be able to progress athletically given my heart rate would be lowered substantially?
Avatar n tn sometimes Tenex is also used in conjunction with stimulants to help control ADHD symptoms....first I have heard of inderal (brand name for propranolol) being used but makes sense...Always to remember to ask your doctor any questions about your meds and health care...the only stupid questions are the ones not asked....Also beta blockers are also given to help control migraines to regulate fluxs in BP...not because too high but slight changes can trigger migraines...
Avatar f tn You are absolutely right about the propranolol helping with the physical symptoms and if you only have the physical symptoms, then sometimes a doctor will prescribe it alone. Reason being that if the physical symptoms go away, then the anxiety does too. (Propranolol is prescribed for people who have essential tremor. Some times these people who have the tremor become anxious because of it. Once the tremor is gone, generally by taking the beta blocker, then the anxiety goes too.
Avatar f tn We've added itching and double vision as symptoms to the Multiple Sclerosis Tracker. We've also added overexertion to the events section. Inderal/propranolol, anticholinergics, antidepressants, carbamazepine, gabapentin, prochlorperazine and codeine phosphate have all been added to the MS Tracker.
Avatar f tn I am 22 years old and I've been having these weird heart beats or fluttering it happens every other day or sometimes once a week. I also suffer from migraine and I've been taking inderal 10mg pills for 3 months now and I haven't been sleeping well. for the past 6 months I go to bed at 4 am in the morning so I'm not sure if these heartbeats are caused by the pills or lack of sleep.
Avatar n tn ve been taking 10-40 mg at a time for inappropriate sinus tachycardia control (probably anxiety, but who knows). The propranolol seemed like a good choice since i also have headaches (kill 2 birds with 1 stone) but it seems to be having too much of a cerebral effect on me....
Avatar f tn He said that the best treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy, but he prescribed me some medication to get me through this semester. He prescribed 10 mg propranolol (inderal) 3 times a day and an extra 10 mg inderal 1 hour before the presentation + 0.25 mg Xanax 1 hour before the presentation. He assured me that the presentation will go well. But I am really scared I might get a panic attack again when I am giving the presentation.
Avatar m tn I am sorry about the delay in answering. I wanted to know the indication of inderal or propranolol. Since you had headaches on sudden stopping of alprazolam and propranolol, you could be having migraines. inderal is one of the drugs prescribed for preventing an attack. Anti anxiety drugs like alprax also cause low mood and lack of sleep. Consult your physician before restarting the medicines whether you need to continue.
534360 tn?1234721915 I would hold off until you speak to your doc. You're starting the Celexa and Inderal all at once? The Celexa will take time to work, up to 4-6 weeks. The Inderal should be effective for anxiety (is that what you were given it for? ) fairly quickly, however I have some concerns, 40mg three times a day is a pretty hefty dose. Inderal can lower your BP, so you want to be very careful. I would keep an eye on your BP for a few days until you adjust to the med.
Avatar m tn wow 40mg propranolol (Inderal) 3times daily to begin with? that much didn't have any side effects except lowered heart rate? I started on 10mg 3x daily; but found too many breakthroughs lately so my dr switched me to Inderal LA. last week.... my dr explained back in 2010 that the lower doses were better to begin with to get your body used to it and so I wouldn't become immune to it so quickly.
Avatar f tn And after 1 year I had intercouse with my husband. I am so much worried.
536139 tn?1273185952 Yes, anti-thyroid medications and Inderal (beta blocker) can help normalization of thyroid function. Inderal (propranolol) controls symptoms of tiroxicose, hipertension, etc, consequences of HIPER (like you are with TSH 0.01). And you doctor is doing what is correct, new analises on July. (free T4 and free T3 is very important too).
Avatar f tn Propranolol hydrochloride (generic for Inderal and other trade names) is a beta blocker and as such has as one of its main attributes, lowering the blood pressure. The number you show is too low, I believe, and you should discuss this with the doctor. I don't know about EP studies relative to ablation, but it seems from what I know about it that it could be a great first step in determining what has to be ablated.
Avatar f tn I didn't have migraines, but I was given a beta blocker (propranolol or Inderal) for high pressure headaches (Pseudotumor). Anyways, my doctor's theory was that it would keep my blood pressure under control, as blood pressure can rise under distress. Side effects I experienced were : fatigue, dizziness, and low blood pressure (as I didn't have high blood pressure to begin with, my blood pressure dipped too low when I didn't really need it).
Avatar m tn I have been prescribed 40mg inderal to be taken 3x day for high blood pressure, aswell as anxiety, i have been taking this for little over a week now, i have just been reading up on reviews, to check my side affects (of extreme fatique, dizzyness and brain fog). And have come across this website which has scared the crap out of me.. Which has made me now take the last 2 doses Please can you help me understand. Thankyou http://www.druglib.
Avatar n tn Hi, First off I wanna ask did your doctor specifically prescribe the propranolol to be taken on an as needed basis or are you taking it daily? Typically this class of medication is to be taken daily due to its effects and the potential for complications from taking it irregularly.
