i am just concerned for the fact that the prolonged use of propranolol might cause any sort of memory loss to me. Kindly advise me in this regard.

I take propranolol for akathisia. Its primary use is for high blood pressure but it also works for akathisia and anxiety. I haven't found anything that states it causes memory problems. I would suspect the sleeping pills. Memory problems can also be caused by depression. The best thing you can do about it is to tell your psychiatrist was is happening with side effects.

Yeah, Propanolol has a chance of helping you. Not sure whether suggesting to the doctor what to try is the right approach, but you could always ask if you're a good candidate for it (assuming you've been checked out properly, diagnosed properly -- which often means an MRI and a long discussion of history, habits, possible triggers).

sometimes Tenex is also used in conjunction with stimulants to help control ADHD symptoms....first I have heard of inderal (brand name for propranolol) being used but makes sense...Always to remember to ask your doctor any questions about your meds and health care...the only stupid questions are the ones not asked....Also beta blockers are also given to help control migraines to regulate fluxs in BP...not because too high but slight changes can trigger migraines...

I been on atenolol 100mg daily in divided doses for years now, plus quite a bit of other medications I',m 45 and I used to have a phenomenal memory , but my memory is very poor for the last 3 years, its almost embarrassing I can be having a conversation and actually have to ask the other person/s would we were discussing, I don't if its the atenolol but I know oothers on atenolol with similar experiences of course thats a small price to pay for the benefits i get from it in my opinion.

Does anyone take propranolol for anxiety and panic attacks? I've had crippling anxiety for my whole life. Antidepressants increase it to the point where I'm in such a state I almost pass out from hypervenitlating. I've heard propranolol is good for this, and is effective.

I also do take the beta-blocker pindolol which has kept my BP at 125/70 for years. Shrink says very occasional and use of propranolol on top of pindolol should not be a problem but I still have concerns which I will run by my GP. I was wondering when u were on topamax did u ever get a sore throat or sinus infection? My neuro just added topiramate 25 mg to my 80mg propranolol for my daily migrianes. I wanted to stop propranolol as it cause rapid weight gain. 12 pounds in one week! It' seems to b working tho for my headaces but not worth the weight gain and Iv only been on it for 5-6 weeks.
