Avatar n tn i am just concerned for the fact that the prolonged use of propranolol might cause any sort of memory loss to me. Kindly advise me in this regard.
Avatar f tn i heard that propranolol causes memory loss. if so how wil i cope with creeping old age.
Avatar f tn Side effects of propranolol include abdominal cramps, diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, insomnia, nausea, depression, memory loss, fever, lightheadedness, slow heart rate, low blood pressure, cold extremities, sore throat, and shortness of breath( ref: http://www.medicinenet.com/propranolol/page2.htm). It is possible that your symptoms are related to the medication you are taking. If it is necessary to discontinue propranolol, its dosage should be reduced gradually over several weeks.
Avatar f tn ve been on Topomax with no success (just a bunch of brain fog and memory loss -- which does not happen to everyone), but Propanolol has helped. I still do get headaches, but they are less frequent and of a markedly lower intensity when I do get them. Instead of 4-5 headaches a week, half of which are of medium intensity, I get about 2 headaches a week which are low intensity. In other words, I can stand it even if the OTC pain reliever doesn't do much.
Avatar n tn I had some severe side effects concerning my central nervious system. One of which was memory loss. During the 6 months that I was taking it (for blood pressure) I started to think I was going a crazy because I was also having very vivid dreams which I was having a difficult time with. In real life I had learned some things that normally would have been difficult to deal with.
Avatar n tn I don't know what post you are referencing, but one cause for head zaps is the antidepressants known as SSRIs. They can also cause mild stiffness in muscles, too, which might be how come you're twitching. But twitching can also be caused by something as simple as not enough vitamins and minerals, or from not enough sleep. Aspirin can cause tinnitus, too. Those are just some easy reasons for your symptoms.

Avatar m tn Since the strokes, the migraines are almost a daily occurrence (although he does take propranolol as a preventative med for them), he cannot tolerate the CPAP( we have had additional sleep studies and made changes to the CPAP without any improvement).
Avatar f tn Does any one taking topamax for migraines have the problem of memory loss? Especially word loss when speaking or writing? I know this drug is nicknamed stupamax for a reason. It sure helps to know when you are not alone and others have the same side effects. Topamax helps my migraines and the weight loss is a plus too but the memory is suffering when it comes to writing and speech...like spelling...
Avatar f tn How would you lose your memory?

562833 tn?1233756109 Does anyone or has anyone experienced memory loss over pain killers. I feel I am losing my mind half the time. I can't remember what I was about to do, or what I need to do. And where I put stuff, I am really starting to worry about this, along with all the other things, I am worried about. maybe this is just part of my OCD. I tend to worry about everything and keep stressing about it.
Avatar m tn re in an alcohol/substance related group - memory loss can be associated with drinking. It can be associated with many other things, too - from different medications, mental or cognitive health conditions, and even sometimes stress. I think it is very important that you speak to a doctor who can survey your health & lifestyle profile to work with what is known - and other factors that may not be known.
