Hello,
i'm taking about 3 months propranolol 10mg for migraines - twice a day, morning and evening.
I suffer from social anxiety, but the doctor does not know .. The problem of migraines is separately
When i have Anxiety attack i am sweating a lot, especially the plams. But in normal circumstances I would not sweat, but lately I'm sweating all the time and from places that I was not sweating before - legs, underarms, back, hands-like all the time !!!
I have a history of migraines for about twenty years. I quit smoking 7 months ago, and started propranolol 20 mg once a day. I gained 30 pounds. My whole body is sore and Im having episodes where my upper body and sometimes legs just feel so heavy and tired I feel like Im going to pass out. Had a Head CT, Head and Neck CTA, CBC, EKG all were normal. Is it related to migraine? ER doctor said it is anxiety. Oh I stopped celexa five months ago because I was extremely fatigued.

I have suffered with migraines for many years & was placed on prophylactic meds-Cymbalta & Propranolol. About 3 months ago I developed Trigeminal Neuritis on my R side. I have to say it was the most painful affliction I ever experienced, even worse than the 2 spinal fusions I underwent! I was placed on Trileptal & am up to 600mg 2x/day, as well as continuing with Cymbalta & Propranolol.
i am just concerned for the fact that the prolonged use of propranolol might cause any sort of memory loss to me. Kindly advise me in this regard.
I was hyper and said to have all indications of Graves and was started on Carbimazole 30mg daily and Propranolol in 2007, now I am hypo for the last 1-3 months and on only 5mg daily of Carbimazole. I do blood work every two months.
Why am I still on Carbimazole if I am hypo?
I read somewhere you said something to the fact that you may not have Graves if you are now hypo. What did you mean?
I am having weight gain. Tell me what I can do to combat this and I will do it without question?

many thanks for responding to my anguish, i can't find the right words and that is my problem, memory loss. my p doc does not help and my family couldn't care less."my niece has threatened to finish me" means that she will kill me or decapacitate me.
I agree. Insist on FT3 and FT4 as well as TSH. Hopefully, your endo won't have to be strong armed to do these tests. Let us know what your endo has to say, and if you need any help interpreting test results, we'll be here.
ve been on Topomax with no success (just a bunch of brain fog and memory loss -- which does not happen to everyone), but Propanolol has helped. I still do get headaches, but they are less frequent and of a markedly lower intensity when I do get them. Instead of 4-5 headaches a week, half of which are of medium intensity, I get about 2 headaches a week which are low intensity. In other words, I can stand it even if the OTC pain reliever doesn't do much.
I had my first migraine when I was 12 and they became chronic and literally everyday after two car accidents. (Rear end and head on). I am soon going to b getting my nerves on my c3-6 burned to help with the headaches and neck pain. I'm only 23 yrs old. I had to quit my career (cosmetologist) I loved it and right before my migrianes randomly became daily I had an offer to become a redken color artist and do hair in big time hair shows up on stage with many famous hairstylist.
The strokes left him with left sided peripheral vision loss and he always is unsteady upon rising. He has tried Wellbutrin for the depression but seemed to make the headaches worse. His physician gave him Cyclobenzaprine and Ambien to help with sleep but nothing seems to improve his sleeping. His quality of life is poor needless to say and it affects our family as a whole.
I read that too much potassium doesn’t work well while on propranolol because while on it the body does not excrete potassium as normally and you can get levels that are too high. Could this be the cause or is there an adjustment period while taking propranolol? I’ve been drinking pomegranate juice and cherry juice, 4 oz of each, with breakfast this past week. These are very high in potassium.
Something is making me feel very strange and I’m hoping it wears off.
I just finished Sovaldi and olysio and no hair loss at all, in fact hair looked great
I do have hypothyroid which is familial, mother , daughters have it,
Check your thyroid levels
That can effect hair loss, dryness etc( even my eye brows and under arms thinned from hypothyroidism )
You may need to be on thyroid medication such as synthyroid if it is off
I've been on Bystolic 10 mg a day for a few years and just this last 6 mos I've noticed a dramatic hair loss. I take hair vitamins and all that, no change noticed. Before that I was on Atenolol 50 mg and Toprolol 100 mg a day. I have been on beta blockers for 15 years for PSVT's..maybe I will consider an oblation.

I have Graves disease and was put on Methimzole and Propranolol. The combination relieved my hyper symptoms and I was losing weight while on those meds. Eventually it tapered off. I have read thatbwhen you are Hyper you eat much more, I didn't find that to be true, I was so hyper, I could barely eat. I loss over 15 lbs. Once me levels lowered, they did keep me on the dosage ( it was 10 mg per day).
