Reproductive studies has been performed in mice at doses up to 9 times the human oral dose, in rats up to 44 times the human oral dose, in rabbits at a dose of 10mg/day delivered locally within the uterus by an implanted device, in guinea pigs at approx one half the human oral doseand in Rhesys monkeys at doses approx the human dose, all based on body surface area, and have revealed little or no evidence of impaired fertility or harm to the fetus due to progesterone.
Also, is anyone taking Prometrium orally? What dose are you taking and what time of day do you take it? Are you worried about any side effects it may have on the baby?
I got mine the next day, as soon as I stopped prometrium I started spotting and the next day I got my AF.
I am on Tecfidera 240 mg dose. It just occurred to me I missed the morning dose. I have a call into the specialty pharmacy for direction. I didn't find much on the web except "take it as soon as you remember and if close to your next dose take it then but don't double up". This is the first time I missed since starting therapy last month. I feel terrible. Is this incredibly bad?
Do I still take the ribavirin pills since I missed the dose? After 4 weeks I was tested and no virus was showing so I am worried that this is going to be a set back. I am anemic as well. Just need to know what to do??? Hep clinic closed for weekend as is doc office and pharmacist had no clue. Anyone been through this?
I would start tapering down your dose now and get off. The longer you stay on it you can start causing more damgae than good. I know it is scary to get off of. So my suggestion to you is once you are off it for a week, get your progesterone levels tested to make sure they are in the acceptable range.
I am 39 years old and within the past year I have had two missed miscarriages at 6 weeks, basically no fetal heartbeat at u/s. What are the chances that I will be able to conceive a healthy child? What tests should I be doing and is there any treatment. This experience is very depressing.
This is my first time posting a question so bear with me.
I'm a 24 y/o F who has been trying to get pregnant since last April. I have very irregular and missed periods so my Dr. put me on 10 days of Prometrium. I had few side effects, fatigue, dizziness and some nausea. After the 10 days on the pill I am supposed to get my period and on day 3 of normal mentration return to the clinic for lab work to diagnose polycystic ovaries. It's been 7 days and no period yet.
I too have been tested for clotting disorders, and so far all is fine. And I also am on baby asprin. There is a theory that it can help build up the uterane lining, and as my OB says, it can't hurt anything. It would seem its a pretty common thing for RE's and OB's to prescribe those of us who have had multiple miscarriages.
When you read up on prometrium, you'll fine it also says that its not recommended for pregnant women...yet so many of us take that as well.
I am worried that 200mg is too much and my doctor is not concerned about checking my levels in case they get too high. Is 200mg too high a dose for borderline progesterone levels? I have had one miscarriage prior to this pregnancy.
The good thing is that you missed the estradiol and not the prometrium. Estrogen stays around in the body much more than progesterone does. My estrogen was in twice-weekly shots, and when I asked my doctor why they prescribed that I take them Wednesday evening and Sunday evening (clearly not exactly the halfway point in a given week, it was an every third day, every fourth day schedule) I was told there was still residual estrogen from the last shot even by the fourth day.
I started spotting Sunday night and it went from brown to some pink on Monday morning. My hcg is still climbing so he upped my dose of prometrium (up to 3 x at 200 mg now). The spotting has lessened quite a bit and is mostly brown now, but it's still there. It's been about 44 hours since I took the first extra dose of prometrium.
How many hours after beginning prometrium did your spotting stop?
my doctor put me on prometrium. 1st month 10 days later i got my period. 2nd month 10 days later i only spotted for a day and no period. Did this happend to anyone? What could it be?
It would be worthwhile to test both of you if only one of you was tested
2) I doubt that the single strand MTHFR finding is significant, but agree that extra folic acid cannot hurt and might help
3) I would hesitate to start prometrium on day 12 of your cycle. Prometrium is given to treat luteal phase defect, but there really is no evidence that we are able to diagnose luteal phase defect, or that luteal phase defect causes recurrent pregnancy loss.
I missed taking my zoloft by 15 hours. (I'm supposed to take my 50mg at 12 midnight and I didn't remember until 3pm the next day). I took the missed dose at that time (3pm)....I JUST NOW relized that I should have just waited until tonight at 12midnight to take it. So, since I took it at 3pm, what should I do? If I take it at the scheduled time tonight then that would be 2 doses in just 9 hours. How do I get back on schedule of taking it at 12 midnight?
