The doctor prescribed prometrium for her. She is scared to death to take the medication because it has a strong warning on the label "DO NOT TAKE IF PREGNANT OR ANTICIPATE GETTING PREGNANT. Why would the doctor prescribe prometrium if the twin is OK at this time?
I did not get periods for 2 months but I was getting some kind of bleeding every now and then. My gynac suggested me to take prometrium for 10 days after seeing a follicle. Its been 7 days now that i have stopped prometrium but still no periods. I have take HPT too in the past week and both the tests are negative.
I am confused if I am pregnant or not
Could some one suggest me here any solution.
Also, when should we take the HPT once we stop prometrium.
This is my first time posting a question so bear with me.
I'm a 24 y/o F who has been trying to get pregnant since last April. I have very irregular and missed periods so my Dr. put me on 10 days of Prometrium. I had few side effects, fatigue, dizziness and some nausea. After the 10 days on the pill I am supposed to get my period and on day 3 of normal mentration return to the clinic for lab work to diagnose polycystic ovaries. It's been 7 days and no period yet.
Before you reduce or stop taking a prescription medication, you need to discuss it with your doctor. Call your doctor and let him/her know that you are having a problem with the medication and ask THEM if it is safe for you to reduce your dose.
Once you start taking the medication do NOT stop taking it until your dr says so as stopping this medication may cause you to bleed and probably miscarry. I hope i didn't confuse you more.

I switched from a RE in Czech Republic who did my IVF and supplied my progesterone- vaginal suppositories, to a local OBGYN who gave me a further prescription for progesterone in the form of prometrium capsules (the little pink 100mg balls). My prescription says to be taken vaginally, but the info leaflet says to be taken orally.
Can you take the same capsule either orally or vaginally as a suppository?
My wife has been off of Prometrium for about a month and a half, and was originally prescribed it because she had very heavy, long periods. She ended up becoming very anxious while on the medication, so her doctor told her to stop and take birth control starting on her next cycle. My wife did not take the birth control, as we were in the process of moving and she wanted to consult a doctor in our new city. Since stopping the Prometrium, we've noticed that she has the following symptoms. 1.
Because I had a miscarriage last year. They put me on prometrium. As soon as I found out I was pregnant. I went to get my HCG and progesteron checked. it was HCG 130 and progesterone 45.8 which is good. But they put me on it just in case. I started seeing a new doctor now and she she is sending me to a specialist for the medicine to see if I really need to keep taking the medication, because it could be harmful to a developing fetus. My appointment is Friday.
5, and my hcg more than doubled. My OB prescribed Prometrium 200mg, saying he wanted the progesterone level >20. My concern is his refusal to check my progesterone level after taking the Prometrium. He says the results would not matter, as he would not prescribe any additional progesterone, saying the body "can only absorb so much."
I have a friend whose OB tested her progesterone, and prescribed 200mg Prometrium for a level of 8.
has he put you on any medications like prometrium to raise the levels? That medication is the only way I can successfully carry a baby in the first trimester and without it I m/c.
t exactly comfortable with taking them because my doctor informed me that prometrium is not fda approved. I decided not to take the medication. When I returned to the doctor a week later, he said that my hormone level came back at 12.4 and informed me that that is extremely low. He said that my body would have had to have produced more of the hormone otherwise I would have already miscarried. (Before the appointment with him, I had an ultrasound done that confirmed everything was normal.
I've been doing some research on prometrium . I was prescribed prometrium since the month of Feb. In Feb.,I ovulated with the help of clomid and prometrium. My progesterone levels were 34. In March my cycle never came and I contacted my Dr on Apr. 9 letting her know I never had my cycle. She schedule me to take some test to take . On 14 my cycle visited and was very weird . her instructions for the prometrium is to take on cycle day 16 and continue to take until a cycle comes.
If you are using Crinone or Prometrium, begin the medication when you wake up in the morning starting the day after your egg retrieval. If you are using intramuscular progesterone, begin it either in the morning or the evening of your egg retrieval.
Is there anything else I need to know if I am taking Crinone?
When using Crinone, it is generally recommended that you take it when you first wake up.
I could not wait another 6 days to take their test so i bought a home one from the chemist and it came back positive, the next day i did another and that is positive, when i rung the hospital they said that the medication i am on could have caused it buti am only on hrt to keep the linning of my womb thick, i am due to take their test on Monday, has anyone else experienced this. Thankyou.
My question is how common is this and besides the medication how do they check for progression? I have felt either exhausted, wide awake, hormones everywhere, and cold all the time. Please respond with encouraging responses!
